Last time I want there with a few friends everything was the same, except the dining room looked a bit tired. Maybe time for a new carpet and refresh paint. I am not allergic, so I asked for my side to contain dairy. The waitress brought the tiered plates and said, "Just a minute. Let me check that you have the correct side." She moved the plates around a bit and then said we were all set. Even with all of this, my daughter ended up with the dairy side. After she ate the food and began to feel ill, the waitress came back and said, "Oh you ate the side with dairy." She didn't seem to think it was a big deal. She just said, "Let me get your bill." I spoke to the lady at the door and told her the situation, saying I did not feel like I should have to pay the entire amount as neither of us got the food we were supposed to get. She said, "Let me see what I can do." She never came back to talk to me. The bill was cut in half. My daughter is also allergic to caffeine. The waitress did not know that "decafe" and "caffeine free" are two different things and that "decafe" does indeed have caffeine. My daughter was sick for an entire day of our vacation. This establishment really needs to be more careful with allergies. Thankfully my daugher's dairy allergy is not life threatening and she knew not to order decafe. But what if that were not the case?

Amazing experience with this place ,far exceeded our expectations. We made reservations for the…read more11AM ( first opening) and we were happy that we did. Parking was free and ample. Directions to the restaurant were clear from the street with good signage. One may call this an upscale tea room/ brunch: indulging dessert experience; depending on how you order. We skipped our breakfast to make room for the experience and we were not disappointed. Seating and decor was British colonial setting. The food was delicious and prepared well. The desserts were decadent and the TEA service was exotic. The food ordered was pasta Florentine and (rich and creamy goodness), blackened mahi over mango salsa was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Quiche was not bad . Mediterranean platter came with humus, roasted eggplant and Tabbouleh. Eggplant was sharp in flavor. Chai was served full of flavors and spices; green ginger tea flavorful and needed time to get to full strength. Raspberry in Paris Rooibos was naturally sweet and well scented. For the desserts we ordered strawberry scones with clotted cream, Italian wedding cake, hummingbird and the chocolate ganache. They were large portions and decadent. Importantly the owner made sure to accommodate us on the menu and was quick to respond to any issues. Isabel and Carline were exceptionally gracious host. Explore the grounds and gift shop on premises and savor your experience. Godwilling your experience is like ours and better.

I ordered a piña colada tea, which was delicious, a mix of different flavors, including hibiscus. All the employees are very friendly, and our waitress was very attentive and kind. This is a older house. Beautiful house. The first floor is where all the action happens. There are…read more2 main tea rooms. One is on the left side of the house. It's a private room that probably seats 6 people or 8. The other room has one large and 3 smaller tables. The sitting areas are all so beautifully decorated. The theme of the tea party is victorian with a touch of southern charm. There is also a large room that is a gift shop. There is a Christmas theme through out the gift shop. Onto the main reason I was there! Afternoon Tea. I had hot strawberry tea. I loved it! It wasn't light either. It was brewed the way I like. Thankfully, this is a proper tea room which had sugar cubes! The tea tray was brought out and it was decorated perfectly. The bottom plate had 2 different types of scones: strawberry with a strawberry sauce and buttermilk. Lemon curd and clotted cream are also served. The scones were more like biscuits. I think they were both buttermilk and the strawberry one just had a strawberry glaze. Both tasted very much like good buttery biscuits.... Not so scone-like to me. Second plate: tea sandwiches: popular cream cucumber sandwich, half croissants of egg and/or tuna, and pin wheel meat sandwiches. Everything is one per person. Except for the scones, 2 for each. Third and top layer is the dessert plate: 3 desserts per persons: a strawberry shortcake, a chocolate brownie, and a red valet short cake. They were ok. Ah. Unlimited tea! Each person can a pick different tea. Unlike some tea room that only allows 1 or 2 pots per table. Although, we weren't given a tea menu. We were given two tea options. The owners are very sweet. It's so obvious that they love what they are doing. They are ready to retire and would love to sell this building as a tea room business. It seems like they have potential buyers that are more interested in demolishing it. What a shame! They are hopeful that they can find a buyer who appreciates tea and continues the tea room. Overall, this place is beautiful in and out. However, the only item that stood out was the egg salad and the tuna salad croissants, tea, and cucumber sandwich. The clotted cream was unimpressive. 3.5... Rounding up to 4/5. I like how they change up their menu throughout the year. Give this a try. It's not my first choice but it's definitely my second. I would hate to see this place close! Tear... Afternoon tea music playing. I love sipping on tea and chatting away for hours. I will finish by asking the ladies: if you are visiting a tea room, for goodness sake... Do not wear jeans!!! Drop those denim..!!!!!

While visiting a friend in Inverness, we decided to explore The Tilted Teacup. High tea is a small…read morepassion of ours, and over the years we have experienced many tea rooms across the country and abroad, so we arrived curious and ready to be charmed. The tea room itself is a beautiful, eclectic house. Spacious yet cozy, decorated in a delightful hodgepodge of styles that somehow comes together harmoniously. It feels whimsical without tipping into chaos. The kind of place where teacups don't match, and that is precisely the point. Making reservations was pleasantly easy. I emailed on a Sunday for a Wednesday seating and received confirmation by Monday. I was mildly surprised they did not require a credit card deposit, something many tea rooms now request given the labor-intensive preparation and delicate perishables involved. Their trust in the process is refreshing. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Amiee, the owner and our server, was friendly and engaging, walking us through the tea selections, the promise of unlimited pots, and explaining the offerings that would arrive throughout the experience. We ended up trying five different teas, each pot a small surprise thanks to Amiee's suggestions. I cannot remember all the names, but I can happily say we liked every one of them. One in particular tasted remarkably like banana bread in a cup. Warm, aromatic, perfectly balanced, and thankfully not overly sweet. We were also delighted by the Peach Apricot, bright and cheerful, and really enjoyed the Pomegranate Vanilla Lemur, which had a lovely layered flavor. We began with a creamy mushroom soup, rich and comforting. The scone, served before the tiered tray, was warm, buttery, and quite good, though notably without the traditional Devonshire or clotted cream. Still, it stood proudly on its own. The finger sandwiches were fresh and thoughtfully varied. The bread did not appear homemade, but the selections complemented each filling nicely and everything tasted fresh. The cheese muffin was flavorful, though we both mused that two smaller ones with a slightly moister crumb might have been even better. The sweet tier was satisfying overall. I was initially skeptical about the bread pudding, but the mini chocolate tart and a delicate lemon tart on filo more than made up for it. One of the highlights of the afternoon was chatting with Amiee about the journey of the tea room through the years, including the challenges of navigating the Covid era. I am always impressed by those who pursue a vision in the food industry. It is a difficult road, and places like this exist because of persistence, courage, and a genuine love of hospitality. Another pleasant surprise was the pricing, which is remarkably reasonable compared with the often lofty cost of afternoon tea elsewhere. All in all, The Tilted Teacup offers a warm, charming, and thoughtful tea experience. My friend and I left very pleased, well fed, and with the comforting sense that we had spent the afternoon exactly as it should be spent: with good tea, good conversation, and a table full of small delights. I happily recommend it.

She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter.
