The part though that really bothers me is that, after all this, they also took my baseboard from the wall. No idea what they did with it. I called asking where it was and they never called me back. I'm now having to spend more money to get a custom baseboard created to match the rest of the room. I don't enjoy not supporting local businesses, but the fact that I'm now having to spend more money because of the baseboard being taken instead of this being compensated for is the reason I'm posting this. When the rubber pipe developed a kink which caused water to run out of the air gap and onto the floor, he immediately came back out and molded the pipe so it would be kink free. He didn't charge me because it was covered by his 30 day guarantee. When the dishwasher installers came a second time and said my valve was frozen, Zeke agreed to come out again on a Saturday to install a new one. Zeke has also come out to solve clogged drains and to install a new toilet. Zeke is great and he doesn't mind getting into tight spaces to solve problems. Also, he doesn't complain about the previous service person's performance (don't you hate it when a plumber comes in and says the previous person you hired didn't know what he was doing and why did you hire him?)

My complex needed a water pipe reroute done in about 19 different units. Our HOA board received…read moremultiple bids and did significant research on each company before signing a contract. They ended up selecting ARS based upon Better Business Bureau info, customer reviews/experiences both online and written letters of recommendations. I am so glad ARS was selected, what a wonderful company! Ramiro Lozano, the owner, came out to do the initial walk through and was very thorough in reviewing what they needed to do and approximately how long it would take. He communicated clearly in layman's terms, so I was able to understand. Once they were ready to start the work, Veronica, from his office, called to set up the date and time. His team showed up ON TIME on that day. They started working right away and continued working hard for the next 4-5 days to get the reroute completed in the 3 units in this building. As soon as the reroute was done, the drywall guys came out the next day to patch, mud, texturize and paint the necessary holes that were made in the ceilings and walls. At the end of each day, they did a great job of cleaning up which is so important when living in a construction zone. Overall, from start to finish in all 3 units, it took 7-9 working days. (Please note, this building was the first one ARS started with in the complex and they did not have the blueprints or anything to go by). However, as they are moving on to the other units, they are moving at a much faster rate and the start to finish time takes about 4-7 days. I must also state that the quality of the work they do is phenomenal. As they came across issues with leaky or corroded valves, they informed the homeowner so that we could either have ARS fix it (as these issues were not covered by the HOA) or get another plumber to fix them. Ramiro just wanted to make sure that the homeowners are aware of any problems and left it up to each of us to decide how to fix them with no pressure from him. All interactions I had with every person involved in this project from Veronica in the office to the plumbers and the drywallers were a pleasure. It is also important to note that when you reach out to anyone in this company via phone or text, you will get a very fast response. I highly recommend this company and give them a 5 star rating. I'll start by saying a few nice things: Jake's is able to dispatch quickly, and the plumbers they send seem relatively capable, though there is some variation. And both the plumbers and the office staff seem nice. More challengingly, it took a remarkable number of visits, over many, many months, to complete some fairly straightforward work. I'm lucky I have a job that fairly easily lets me be at home waiting for a contractor if needed; for someone for whom taking time away from work is a bigger deal, this would have been a brutal experience. And there were a bunch of hiccups, like the wrong parts being ordered, plumbers showing up not prepared to do the job, and a plumber dismantling a shower valve down to the rough-in valve and declaring the job done (surreally, I had to argue with the office that the job was finished when the shower was functional again). Most challengingly, two valves for a tub needed replacement, because they were leaking and too corroded to replace the cartridges, requiring access through tile. For almost a year, I tried to get a quote for the work, because the home warranty company wouldn't cover tile access. I asked the office repeatedly for a quote. I asked every plumber who came to my house to work on other, simpler parts of the job. And I never got a quote, and I finally just gave up. The bottom line is that this office seems to struggle to handle even modestly complex jobs. For the simplest jobs, like a toilet that needs to be snaked or a simple leak under a sink, they can dispatch a reasonably capable, friendly plumber quickly. But the wheels seem to come off when things get even modestly complex, like parts having to be ordered. And I say all that with some regret, because these seem like nice people, and I tried really hard to work with them.

Going forward, this happened several times so I called Navien; they recommended I get an authorized service tech out there so they could troubleshoot the issue over the phone. I called Ernie's, the closest Navien approved company. Ben came out the next day, got on the phone with Navien and ordered a new PCB under warranty. Because I took to long to address this, labor was not covered, but that's understandable. And it was very reasonable. Less than a week later I now have a fixed tankless. Ben and Ernies were incredible; they're my new go to for plumbing issues. And I'm not sure why Timmy P. left such a bad review of Ernie's. Based on what he wrote, he expected Ben and Ernie's to take a partial payment at the job site. Maybe if he had stated that when making his appt there would not have been any confusion. Payment is always due at job completion.
