I had an appointment that I scheduled weeks ago with Christine for first time. I arrived at the…read moresalon on time and was waiting so I looked at my phone. Christine had sent me a text an hour before saying she was not coming in until 10. Our appointment was at 9:30. I had not looked at my text as I was getting ready to for my appointment. I responded that I was not waiting 30 min. She got defensive and said people have emergencies but she had not said it was an emergency or apologized or checked to see if that would work for me. She continued to be rude and defensive. I would not recommend this salon or stylist at all. I think if she had made an attempt to be responsible I would have made an effort to give her some grace but 30 minutes is a long time to just change an appointment with no discussion. and be rude about it.

Tyler was friendly and easy to talk to and I explained I had a work event that night and I was hoping he could style it so it would last for that. It was a steal and Tyler was lovely. Definitely will go back.

Please note, I haven't actually visited this place. I was not able to get an appointment. Because…read morethis is a spot that many hairdressers utilize independently, there is no central booking option. Not Vagaro, not on the website, and not by phone. I sent an email and also called. I was able to get a receptionist on the phone but because she was new was unable to assist. I was directed to contact the individual hairdressers via Instagram. This required me to follow their page before I could message them. Really, really inefficient. In the meantime, I was able to locate another salon and hairdresser via Vagaro and book an appointment. These professionals may be great, but having an easy way to book will get more clients. In this day and age, the instantaneous booking is the bar and this place doesn't meet it. It is a hurdle/challenge to just get an appointment. I am sure these people are nice and are probably good at what they do.

I had a lengthy consultation where we reviewed multiple inspiration photos and discussed adding…read moredepth and dimension while maintaining a dimensional bronde look with lighter ends. My hair had become brassy and I just wanted to add low lights and some dimension. I showed many, many photos to make it clear what I wanted. Unfortunately, the final result was drastically different from what I requested. Much of the interior and underside of my hair was colored a very dark brunette tone, creating a flat, heavy appearance rather than the dimensional look shown in the photos we reviewed. The ends of my hair look completely black, nothing like the photos I showed. The issue wasn't that my hair became darker overall. I expected more depth and lowlights. The issue was that much of the brightness and dimension was lost, particularly underneath, leaving large sections of the hair looking like one solid dark color. To Cynthia's credit, she did offer to adjust the color by adding highlights and ultimately provided a full refund when I explained that I was no longer comfortable proceeding with additional processing since my first request was so misunderstood and poorly executed. While I appreciate her efforts to make things right afterward, the final result did not reflect the look we spent significant time discussing beforehand. I'm honestly still devastated.

Over the years, she has taken my hair through quite the journey, from getting me all the way blonde to eventually bringing me back to my natural brown. Through every change, she has always taken the time to understand what I want and make sure I feel confident and happy with the results. Today, I booked with her once again, but this time I only wanted a haircut because I'm trying to embrace my virgin, natural hair. She did such an amazing job achieving exactly the look I was hoping for! My hair feels lighter, bouncier, healthier, and so much more refreshed, and I absolutely love how pretty it looks. One of the things I appreciate most about Sovanara is how genuinely she connects with her clients. She really cares about how you feel when you leave her chair, not just about how the final result looks. Throughout my haircut, she consistently checked in with me, asked for my input, and made sure I was comfortable with the length and shape before moving forward. I never felt rushed or like I had to settle for something I wasn't completely happy with. She is especially known for her blonding work, and I can personally vouch for how talented she is with color, but she is also amazing at haircuts. If you're looking for someone who is skilled, attentive, personable, and truly cares about her clients, I cannot recommend her enough. I 100% recommend Sovanara and completely vouch for her work! You can also check out more of her beautiful work on her Instagram. I'm already looking forward to booking my next appointment with her!
