Oscar Amador and his crew recently finished the remodeling of our two bathrooms. From the start, Oscar was professional , communicative and attentive to all of our needs and desires. He helped us in the design and materials to fit within our style and budget. During the time of the remodel, Oscar was available day or night to answer all of our questions, etc His crew was at our home each and every day ( except Sundays) working on our job. The quality of the work is outstanding. The bathrooms are just what we envisioned. The project was completed on time, with minimal disruption to our daily routine. We highly recommend Amador Construction. read more

Oscar is 100% fair and reasonable. He really cares that the client is happy with the work he does.

If you're not hiring Amador for your remodel, you're not hiring the best. I can't say enough good things about Amador. They were a dream to work with. They were: flexible, accommodating, high quality, professional, courteous, friendly, creative, and always figured out a way to solve problems. They did a full gut and remodel of our kitchen, dining room, and living room. It came out fantastic. They were by far the best contractor experience I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. Their prices were unbeatable, but I don't think I could have gotten better service or a nicer kitchen at twice the price. read more

Edit: walk-through is scheduled! Will update as things progress. I've been reaching out for six months. I've sent emails with the scope of the project, location, and photos. I've sent texts through Yelp and directly to Omar who seemed interested and said he'd get back to me about scheduling a walk-through but never did (this happened twice). What a bummer as I was hoping to work with them. read more

I found Amador General Construction / Oscar on IG of all places. I do real estate development for a living and have my go-to GCs for all our projects; however, I was intrigued I wanted to give Oscar a shot as I like to patronize local businesses. This was a great decision! Not only Oscar was a better value, him and his crew did a better job than the other GCs I have used in the past. He is responsive and troubleshoots problems quickly before they become bigger issues. Oscar will not compromise on quality and that shows in the end results. I could go on and on but pictures are worth a thousand words! Special shoutout to Adelso and Marvin for their finish work! read more

Amador to the rescue!! Oscar and team took over a project that had been unceremoniously abandoned by a dishonest contractor, creating a plan with us to remove the shoddy work and replace it with a beautiful new vision. Not only was the construction first rate, but they brought new design ideas for details we hadn't even considered, turning our deck into a backyard oasis. Oscar and his team were unfailingly responsive, careful to check with us before making even minor (but necessary) changes to the design, and fair on pricing and billing. The end result simply looks -- professional. We're already looking forward to planning our next project with Amador! read more

What started as a request to address issues identified by a pest control inspection, ended up as a major remodel. Amador Construction (Oscar) was recommended by a realtor who uses him to perform pre-sales renovations. Oscar's attention to detail, timeliness in completing his tasks and his skill level on the first project earned him the right to bid on the remodel project. His proposal came within budget and thus he was awarded a contract to remodel the kitchen and 3 bathrooms along with installing engineered vinyl flooring throughout the house and painting the house interior & exterior. We could not be happier with the end results. His craftsmanship is on display throughout the kitchen and bathrooms. Truly worthy as a designers showcase. read more

Do yourself a favor and go with Amador Construction. As they say, "no problems, only solutions"--and this was our experience. This is a highly functional team: honest, polite, intelligent, capable, interdependent, kind, punctual, curious and communicative. We lived in our home for 4 months while undergoing a renovation of 2 bathrooms and these guys were incredible--we honestly missed them once the project was over! Oscar is a strong leader who has earned the deep respect of his team, as well as his clients. The ease, flexibility and high standards that Oscar and the crew attend to are rare these days--they strive to meet expectations and are experts as well as learners, always pivoting and learning on. We will without question hire them for our next job. read more

Our first and favorite contractor- Amador Construction. Oscar and his team are focused, reliable good problem solving and exceedingly talented .. their attention to detail is extraordinary..the results: a remodel that took a 40 year old house into a new home. From hardwood floors, new cabinets, smooth walls, paint, tiling, new light fixtures, new doors. Would hire them again without bidding ..such is our trust of their pricing and their skill set. I had major water damage to my house from my kitchen sink so had to fix my ceiling, walls, kitchen cabinets and floor tiles. It has been a nightmare and literally draining the life out of me dealing with all of this. After demolition and drying from a restoration company, I had to find someone to put everything back together and I found Oscar on Yelp, and his crew did an amazing job! I can't say how thankful I am for his crew. Oscar helped me pick out my new cabinets and tiles with pictures from the store. His crew are the most hard working, honest people in the industry. They got everything done in 3 days which is just unbelievable. There's a reason why he's the highest rated contractor in SF here on Yelp. To top it off, his price was very competitive as I interviewed at least half a dozen people before finding Oscar. He is fully booked and super busy so might be difficult to schedule, but be patient if you can wait as the wait to work with him is totally worth it. I'll be calling Oscar for everything house related from now on. So glad I found him! read more

We hired Oscar and his team to remodel a commercial space in Marin county. They did a great job with the remodel, which included removing walls, enlarging a bathroom, as well as some electrical and plumbing upgrades. Oscar was very responsive, and kept us updated on the status of the project at all times. His team was fast, professional and was able to stayed in-budget. We are very happy with the way everything tuned out and will be recommending him to our friends and family. read more

I was referred to Amador by a local, close friend. Oscar and his team were great to work with. Communication was on point. We had a minor water leakage/mold issue. The repair was coordinated in a timely manner and the result was beautiful! I highly recommend Amador General Construction! read more

This is for a couple of jobs. Oscar did work last year on our backyard patio decks (build new and replace existing), remove a cement patio, replace a fence, putting in edgers, laying down landscaping fabric and build a new garage door entryway. Since he's general contractor and did a great job then, I now keep him mind for other work around the house or ask questions about home maintenance stuff. I called Oscar last month on a late Saturday night to check out a water leak with our kitchen sink pipes and valve. I also decided to replace our very old kitchen sink, garbage disposal and faucet to make sure everything else was new and worked. It started when we had a new dishwasher installed Saturday afternoon which backed up and started overflowing later that night. The dishwasher pump was defective but the water leak issue also revealed the need to replace old plumbing and pipes. To my relief, Oscar answered my late Saturday call and was available to check out the leak AND replace our old sink, plumbing etc. early Sunday morning. I ordered the new sink, faucet and garbage disposer that same morning which Oscar kindly picked up from Lowes on his way here. His crew did a great job installing all that with new pipe fittings and made sure the leak was fixed. It's nice to have a contractor you could trust with most any home maintenance or remodeling jobs. read more

We hired Oscar and his crew to work on a pretty massive backyard deck and fence in San Francisco. They were on time everyday, professional, respectful, and detail oriented. Oscar was always responsive and worked with us to make sure that things came out exactly how we envisioned and delivered on every detail we requested. We liked Oscar's work so much, we brought him and his crew back for an interior bathroom and garage remodel. I would highly recommend Amador Construction and his crew for anything from the smallest projects to the largest remodels. read more

Don't understand how he got good reviews unless they're "manufactured". Hired Amador's handyman for a simple bathtub regrout. Terrible work and awful service. I'd rate zero stars if I could. Oscar kept rescheduling and rescheduling. When he finally "came" he sent someone in his place last minute. He was supposed to arrive at 9am but his guy was an hour late. So exasperated by then I should have known better because he kept texting excuses: "forgot a tool and have to go back ", "By any chance do you have an extension cord?" He doesn't know what tools he'll need for a simple regrout? Without asking and after I stepped out momentarily he searched my home for the supplies he needed and just helped himself! His work? Awful. The photos speak for themselves. So messy and incompetent he smeared clear silicone with a white grout! He smeared new grout over the old to make it look "new". But the worst part was he made an incredible dust mess! DUST WAS EVERYWHERE AND TRACKED THROUGHOUT ALL THE ROOMS AND THE ENTIRE HOUSE. Ended up having to pay professional cleaners to clean up!! Spent the entire weekend cleaning everywhere the dust went- all over the bathroom floors, walls, cabinets and wall hangings. All over the bedroom, bedding and curtains. It would have been so simple to place a drop cloth and that problem would have been eliminated. It took a cleaning crew of two people FOUR HOURS to clean Oscar's mess. Couldn't get him out of there fast enough! Paid him just so he'd leave and stop doing more damage. Oscar agreed to take the cleaners charges off his bill so the bank had to send him another check. This just never ends! If you want to spend all your time and your weekend cleaning up after incredibly incompetent work this is for you. If there was NO stars I'd give him that. When/if this never ending ordeal ends I'll update my review. Look elsewhere! read more

Oscar recently finished a full renovation of our 3 bed/2bath in San Francisco as part of a multi-unit building project. The job involved some structural work (removing a wall and a light well and putting in beams and posts for support), removing a fireplace, all new kitchen and bathrooms, new exhaust for the kitchen and bathrooms, framing a laundry room and utility closet, sheetrock, doors, and new front windows. Oscar made our vision a reality, and we are extremely happy with our new home! Oscar and his crew were professional and dedicated. Oscar is very committed to getting the job done right, which shows in his willingness to listen to and work with his clients. Not only was Oscar great to work with as a contractor, but it has been good getting to know him and his crew on a personal level too. We definitely plan to work with Oscar in the future when we have projects at the house! read more

We needed to have a washer dryer unit installed in a closet within our bathroom. So we ordered a GE model from Home Depot. The washer/dryer would not fit through the door frame, and Home Depot installers wouldn't remove the door stop saying it was out of scope for them. So, without carpentry experience, we figured we had to find a handyman to do the job of removing the door stop and installing the washer dryer. We called upon Amador General Construction to help us with this. The total work performed included: -removing the door stop -replacing a sheet of plywood within the washer/dryer closet -installing the washer / dryer -replacing the door stop Despite the door stop taking less than 10 minutes to remove, and the plywood being replaced within the first 30 minutes of arriving, the rest of the job somehow took nearly all day and we were charged $950 for the effort. This seems to me to be at least double what it should have cost. After watching them remove and replace the door stop, I was able to do it myself in less than 15 minutes. Moreover, the Home Depot installers had broken a step in our spiral staircase when delivering the washer/dryer. Amador quoted us $1500 to replace the step completely, or $700 to reinforce the broken step. We were able to find another handyman to reinforce the broken step for $100, and it's good as new now. Amador does satisfactory work, but they are not as efficient or cost effective as they could be. read more

I hired Oscar for a heavy duty cleanup of a multi-tiered yard that was partially covered with artificial turf. It had not been tended since it was installed several years before. 2 dogs had also been using it to relieve themselves so, there's that. It was completely overgrown with weeds and ivy. There was also large furniture and a kid's big playset strewn around the lawn. It was a disaster area. I was also looking for ongoing monthly maintenance. I contacted approximately 10 landscaping/gardening businesses who all said they didn't do that type of work or came back with an outrageous estimate. Thank GOD - because then I found Oscar. Lightning-fast response time and continued excellent communication through texting throughout the days leading up to the job and during the job itself. He and his crew were punctual, thorough, and professional with outstanding attitudes. I had to leave for a couple of hours during the day and by the time I returned they were done. I couldn't believe it. I thought it was going to take all day. They brought all their own equipment and hauled away the debris and yard waste at the end of the day. I couldn't be happier with the service and will be hiring them for any work that any of my clients need in the future. (I am a professional organizer and personal assistant). I can't say enough good things about this man! Thanks Oscar! read more

Installed two shower "doors." Doesn't get much better than Oscar. Great communication, punctual and did a fantastic job. Brought his own trash bag and left the bathrooms cleaner than when he arrived. Kept meaning to post this review, so it's a bit late in terms of when I reached out (2 months ago), but I have to throw this out there... Contacting them in the first place was such a disappointment and such a waste of time! I had reached out to them in regards to fixing a door that was not shutting properly. We went back and forth via Yelp messaging, even though I offered my phone number a few times to discuss further, but that was never initiated. When we settled on a time to meet up, he was a no call/no show. I called the number on the Yelp page, but I got a "this caller is unable to be reached at the moment" message. I didn't have patience to wait any longer than 30 minutes of an estimated arrival time so I shot another Yelp message explaining to cancel any chance of coming out. Only then did I get an "I'm sorry," but it did not seem professional at all! read more

Our realtor, who we also love, introduced us to Oscar to assist with opening up a wall after we moved into our new home. Oscar and his team are hard workers that want to do the job right, and we've used them for quite a few jobs as a result. Over the weekend, we had a bit of an emergency after a gas leak was detected in our ceiling. Oscar was happy to make time for us over the weekend and has worked almost nonstop since to put our home back together. I'm sure we'll be thrilled with the end result, as we are with all of the other work he has done for us. I can't recommend him highly enough. His prices are reasonable, he's extremely competent in his trade, and he's hardworking. We trust his opinion on our projects and hope to use his services for years to come. read more

Oscar Amador, at Amador General Construction, was referred to me by a realtor friend who had him do work on his own home, so I knew they must do great work for my friend to have used them, because I know his standards are very high. Anyway, long story short, I had them do a rather complicated and labor-intensive project for me which they just finished today. Job was done ahead of schedule. Within their original budget. And was done completely to my satisfaction. Before I signed the contract, I felt very confident that he thoroughly understood the scope of the project, and what I expected. And it turns out that was exactly correct. I'm happy! read more

Oscar and team do a fantastic job and I highly recommend him. Oscar has helped me remodel a bathroom (tilework, electrical, and drywall), install chandeliers, install electric baseboard heaters, and refinish old victorian doors and wall trim. What really sets Oscar apart is his high sense of work ethic, transparency with hours worked, and open communication to ensure you know what tasks were completed for the day and what else needs to be done. This way I am never wondering what % complete we are...that is a huge relief in my book. Amador General Construction remodeled our kitchen and we love it. While we were looking for a general contractor, we were advised to hire a competent professional because that would save energy, time and ultimately money (because you wouldn't have to undo/redo mistakes. And Oscar and his crew are warm and friendly, too. We live in a 100+ year old building with quirks and unseen surprised behind walls. Every member of the team met each challenge with a carlm can-do attitude. Oscar and his crew are a talented and hardworking bunch! Had them come in and pull of three very huge mirrors and redo the wall behind it. Also worked on redoing wooden fireplace top. The job was done very smoothly! I invigilated the whole job for the first day and they were very careful with ensuring there is no damage to surrounding areas. Mirrors came off in one piece, even though it was quite the challenge. Wall patching and paint work that followed was also of excellent quality. Trust worthy crew as well since for the remaining days I wasn't necessarily at home, but all the work was done sincerely. What I liked the best about Oscar's work style is how he worked around my schedule. Never late even once, always accommodating in terms of timing. I got stuck at work causing me to be late one of the days when Oscar and his crew was waiting outside my place for me, but they were so nice to not charge me at all for the delay I caused. Very quick text response time as well for any query. Very good knowledge of what he was doing. He gave great recommendations of how the wall needs to be done and also the fireplace finish!
