Excellent eye doctors I really like Dr. Garcia. She took time with me and explained my macular degeneration. She even understood about my dislike of the eye lens measuring machine. Made an appointment for 3:30. I asked for potentially a 4 o clock appointment so I wouldn't have to take time off of work they told me the latest appointment Dr Lyman took on any day was 3:30. I left work early, got docked pay to make the appointment. Came in for my 3:30 appointment. No other patients were in office other than me. They had me wait over 30 mins when I asked what was going on if I was going to be seen I was told not until the appointment time that was apparently now 4:00. When I mentioned I had a 3:30 appointment and u was told there were no 4:00 appointment per the girl who made my appointment staff was immediately argumentative (specifically purple haired girl) , at the end of the day they are customer service and had none. I would have been completely fine if I was told "there must have been a mistake I'm sorry let me see if they can see you a little sooner" even if I would of had to wait instead of being told "i don't know who made your appointment but you'll wait" They took other appointments that walked in immediately before taking mine regardless of there being no one else initially in office. Called back to complain to the supervisor just to be told "that never happened but sorry" Don't waste your time here. They have no respect for you or your time. Staff is unprofessional and rude and need to find a different job that isn't working with people. I came here last year for my exam and had a pretty decent experience but I'm absolutely never coming here again. read more

Kelli has a real attitude problem and has been sort of nasty to deal with... Dr. Pickens the last owner was fantastic on a personal and professional level. Can't say enough good things about the guy. This place failed my son. October 2020 I brought my son here to get his slight lazy eye checked out. The doctor told me I needed a referral to see a specialist at UC Davis Opthalmology. He said the waitlist was at least 6 months, up to a year. He told me not to worry if the issues worsened, if his eye went completely sideways in the meantime, don't worry just be patient. This is what the optometrist told me. As much as that statement scared me, I took his word for it. I trusted Amador Eye Care to do their job. May 2021 I called Amador Eye Care to see about the referral. They told me to call UC Davis. UC Davis explained to me that immediately after receiving the referral from Amador, they reached out to Amador Eye Care for additional steps needed to complete the referral. They did not. 7 months my son waited for care. Just to be told that Amador Eye Care didn't do their part. After calling Amador Eye Care, I was given BS about staff changes and what not. At this point in time May 2021, my son was put on the waitlist to be see at UC Davis. I was contacted the end of July by UC Davis for his appt to be scheduled November 12 Here it is, Nov 12. My son will now need surgery to correct this. The issue has worsened. What could've been fixed with an eye patch is now needing surgery. Thank you Amador Eye Care for failing my son. If you are a parent, take your children elsewhere. These people are careless and clueless. Filing a complaint with the The California State Board of Optometry. This is unacceptable. read more

This is a GREAT place for eyecare! I had an urgent vision issue, called and spoke to Karli, she was kind and caring giving me a same day visit. Katelyn assisted the doctor in triaging my symptoms and gathering data, she is very professional and also very kind, what a jewel!! Doctor Lyman is a very kind, informative and passionate about eye care and diagnosis. I learned a lot today and he helped me understand my diagnosis. Both the owner Todd P. and my eye doctor Kelly Garcia have been great to me and I've gotten nothing but top notch service there. I saw Todd only once, when Kelly was out of town and I had a situation that could not wait, but I've been going to her for years and have had not one cause for complaint and also really appreciate the very comfortable waiting area, though I've never had to wait long, and the nice selection of frames. Don't hesitate to try them. P. S. In all the years that I've gone there I have NEVER had to wait for more than a few minutes. read more

I took all my kids, myself and my mother there to get glasses. I just have to say..WTF happened to customer service. I swear they totally make you feel like you are wasting their time. I went in one day to see if my sons glasses were ready and one of the girls rudely said "IF THEY WERE READY WE WOULD HAVE CALLED YOU". My mothers glasses we not working and they kept having her move the paper asking, now can you see. Seriously if they don't work they don't work.What is she supposed to do move a book in a 360 degree circle to catch the right spot. If you are going and you are in a good mood its very possible you will leave quite the opposite. read more

I've been going to Amador Eye for a few years now. The staff is helpful and Doctors are the best. I now have gotten my 19 year old son and husband going there. If you have a problem with anything they are great and willing to get you in ASAP. Wish my medical Doctor office worked as well. read more

Terrible management, went in 2 months ago for my first ever glasses received them 2 weeks later only to find out I couldn't read the computer with them so they said they would make them into trifocals, the slit to read through was so tiny that when reading I saw blur on top 2-3 lines of clear reading then blur again. So they said give them 1 week, I actually gave it 2 but I just constantly kept getting headaches because of all the blur. They said come back in and the dr or asteroid will see what they can do to fix the situation. So I go back in and asteroid said they already fixed them once and there was nothing else she could do. What??? I just paid $100's of dollars on these and I can't even use them. I left that office furious! I called and asked to talk to the owner or manager and they put me on the line with asteroid the one that said she couldn't do anything else. Turns out she's actually their office manager ( sad ) short story shorter she agreed to make changes to the glasses. As a manager she have never let me leave that office without fixing the situation which she obviously was able to do. read more

I have had nothing but problems with this office. There are several different staff members there and I don't know their names yet the ones I have primarily dealt with aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, they give misinformation, and the customer service is extremely poor. I went to Amador Eye Care for the first time a couple/few years ago. I can't remember as you usually don't need to go back too frequently after you get your glasses. However this business is "special" and I have had to go back to them more times than I wished. I had cataract surgery a few months ago. I went to Amador Eye Care only because I wanted some frames they had and I wanted my new prescription put in them. I was told the frames were discontinued and my frames were broken, I think the screw was stripped, or something like that. Then I was told that they could be fixed as they weren't stripped. So I had my frames "repaired" and my dark sunglass cataract prescription put in them. (I have Lupus and my eyes are photosensitive.) Approximately a month later the wing came off. Also, I went and had transition lenses put in another pair of frames I bought there. The transition glasses don't get as dark as the darkest non-transition glasses, yet the staff said "yes, they do." Well, no they don't. ( According to 2 optometrists and the internet.) I told them this. They said they would put in regular lenses as they couldn't argue with the facts. (Although they tried.) They sent my glasses back to the factory yet instead of putting my new cataract prescription in they put my old prescription in! The people at Amador Eye Care are sooo stupid and rude a person would have to be crazy to go there. read more
