First time at Amanda - there were 3 of us. The valet parking out front is shared with Flemings - that works. Otherwise you may need to park a bit away. The ambiance is nice - same layout as prior restaurant with some updates. The menu has good variety. The prices are a little high - but that was expected. The chorizo was excellent - we tried it twice! The wagyu was delicious. The mushrooms were good but could of used a little more flavor. The peas dish was demolished (meaning it went fast because it was really good). The 1/2 chicken was pretty decent too. My daughter had her wedding reception at Amada in Radnor last night. It was absolutely amazing. The food and service were incredible. We had so many tapas and the entree was the steak and chicken with brussel sprouts/ shaved apples and cauliflower au gratin. My daughter met her husband in Spain. This was perfect. read more

Excellent addition to the mainline food scene . Cool and elegant . It has been done up very well and the ambiance is awesome for a get together or a dinner with your significant other . We started off with the cheese platter and ordered pretty much all the tapas . We started off with their drink Seville sour which was very well done with a lot of rich and deep flavor . The best tapas of them all was the octupus which was crisp flavorful and richly flavored . The garlic shrimp was good with a good mix of garlic in it . The spicy lamb tapas was excellent as well , so was the patatas bravas and the scallops . There was hardly anything that we ordered which was not 6 + on the scale of 10 . Probably not a very kids friendly menu , might be my only criticism but over all a great experience . Love it that this place is just around the corner. This was truly just okay, but for the cost it should have been so much better when there are so many local fine restaurants (like Estia, literally in walking distance) to compete with it. I ate at the Amada in Philly years ago and remembered it being amazing. This was not the same experience. We were given a free appetizer from the chef to start and it was described by the waiter as "upscale tuna salad." I happen to love tuna salad, but this was a gross start to a meal. It was a very watery canned tuna taste, along the lines of bad tuna at a deli. I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. The plate sat at our table until I asked someone to please take it away near the end of the meal. Then we got the cheese plate and it was fine, but there was an accompaniment on the plate that was homemade Nutella. One of the other accompaniments also had a very strong chocolate flavor, so this was confusing. Like a dessert cheese at the end of a meal, but we had just started. We honestly love strange cheese combinations, but the Nutella threw my husband and I. It seemed to match nothing and messed up our tuna soaked palates even more. Still, the cheese was delicious. As were the bacon wrapped dates and the spiced potatoes (my husband hated the potatoes, but I liked them). The Brussel sprouts were just okay, but the only real problem was the salmon. I could smell the fishy scent of the salmon as it hit the table. It tasted even worse. Then it was also dried out. It was not the kind of fish that should be served at a restaurant of this caliber. I did not take more than one bite. Our server was nice, but didn't seem to care that we had passed up on finishing so much of our food. (I feel like a good waiter would have asked what was up.) I had a glass of wine so the total was $100 plus $20 of tip. Not worth the experience for me to come back, sadly. read more

What. A. Meal. My wife and I opted for the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing, which we don't normally do, but it was totally the right call -- truly amazing experience (and value!). Not a weak dish or glass in the bunch. We'd been to the Amada Old City location several times over the years but hadn't tried the Radnor spot since moving to the 'burbs and honestly thought the food was somehow better?? The meats and cheeses were so savory; boquerones so fresh; pulpo and steak both grilled to perfection; and the salmon with that saffron was mouth watering. Matt the beverage manager was also spot on with his wine selections making each course incredibly well rounded. Wait staff was super friendly and accommodating too, allowing us to even hand pick 1-2 of the selections which not all places will do. Will definitely go back again! read more

Incredibly accommodating and tasty time to celebrate my college graduation. Matt was especially kind and attentive to my party of 7 who really do not get out much. He recommended the tasting menu and it was a great choice. There was really something for everyone and we all left stuffed and happy (even my grandma who frankly, is not open to trying new things found herself enjoying the meal). Thanks to Amada Radnor for providing a welcoming environment that is great for large parties and people of all ages in a beautiful setting. I'd be happy to return to try new surprises. :) read more

Something very strange happened. I had posted a rather detailed review of Amada Radnor near the end of May. Now, it has suddenly disappeared from Yelp! (It was that review which was the start of my entire experience with this restaurant; an experience which has been very weird.) In my original post, I stated that the food was very good, but the attitudes of several of the staff were sorely in need of improvement. In response to that post, a manager contacted me and invited me to return at no charge. I thought it was a very nice gesture; however, when I went to contact him again to book my return reservation, as he requested, he completed ignored my communications. No responses - period. Strange, no? Why make the offer in the first place? I then decided to contact Jose Garces to inform him of what had happened. My letter addressed to him at his corporate office was returned to me stamped "Addressee Unknown!" I then re-sent the letter to his attention at the center city Amada location. That was several weeks ago - and to this day, no response! If it hadn't happened to me personally, I would have never believed it! Anyway, needless to say, this is not a place to which I will ever return - even if it were free. I can't believe that this is the way that they do business. Why offer someone something in the first place if you have no intention of keeping your word? I wish Jose Garces the best, but I hope he makes a few changes in the way he and his staff respond to customers. read more

Accidentally made our reservation for the Philly location but Radnor was still able to accommodate upon arrival. The food was great. My husband and I ordered 7 small plates to share and it was just enough for both of us. Standouts were the crab stuffed peppers and the iberico pork skewers. The calamari was a little chewy for my liking but flavor was still good. They treat the paprika aioli like Frank's red hot sauce and put that sh*t on everything but it's fine because it's SO good. Drinks were a little disappointing even though they were strong. The mojito lacked lime and I wish my gin drink was muddled to help infuse the strawberries into the drink. However the gin drink was HUGE so it's probably the best bang for your buck. They also comped our dessert since it was my birthday. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Amada and can't wait to go back! read more

We ate here recently and were extremely disappointed! The food was terrible and the service was bad. Don't waste your money. If you remember the Amada in Old City, this is not it. Do not eat here!!! They've dumbed down the food, flavors and ingredients to the point where nothing of note is left. The decor felt sad. The waiter stacked all of our plates right in front of me, so I had to lean back out the way to keep from getting food on me. My cocktail was so overly sweet, I couldn't drink it. Wanted to try the new Radnor location after having dined at the original Old City years ago and not wanting to venture into the city this time. It was also our first anniversary. We were adventurous and went for the chef's tasting. It seemed like a lot of money but it turned out to be a three course meal, including a variety of tapas (from meats and cheeses to garlic shrimp and lentils with lamb), two entrees, and two desserts. Other than the fish entree (neither of us are huge fish eaters), there wasn't a miss to be found. The service is extremely friendly but clearly still has a few bumps. Our sangria pitcher had a bug in it that came out with a glass. It was promptly replaced with a second complimentary pitcher. A novice food runner also sent us a second meat/cheese platter meant for another table. The pace of service varied and seemed a bit rushed at the end. They did send us complimentary cava to toast our anniversary at the end. The reason for the docked star is the credit card surcharge, which you only find out about at arrival. Given most people around here use cards to pay, it is an unwelcome surprise and the restaurant should really raise prices so people know what they're paying when they order. read more
