When we first…read morerealized that mom could not live on her own any longer, Senior Helpers provided the support we needed for mom while she was still in an Independent Living apartment, and also later in Assisted Living (where the facility did not provide the "assisted" part of "assisted" living). Moira provided us with more information about my mom's dementia in 15 minutes than anyone else had, including mom's neurologist! She helped us understand how to handle some of the emotional and mental effects of dementia in a positive way. The Senior Helpers employees have been kind, supportive, and helpful during a very chaotic time for us. Mom absolutely loved her caregivers, and so did we! One advantage that we realized was that Mom didn't need to be a parent to her caregivers--she could just hang out and have fun with them. They got her out of her room and doing activities, helped her with tidying up the apartment, and worked with her to exercise her brain in a way that was respectful and maintained mom's dignity. Senior Helpers has a special training program for working with dementia clients and it really works. They gave us great ideas to work with our mom as well. The office staff have gone above and beyond in helping us and working with last-minute issues. We haven't always been the easiest people to work out a schedule with, and they were so patient and did all they could to accommodate us. I can't say enough good things about the service and understanding Senior Helpers provided our loved one. They also were an extra pair of eyes and ears for us, and let us know how mom was doing when we could not be there every day. I recommend them highly.

The care notes that they know have to be correct for we're not reviewed before sent in. And many times blank care notes were submitted. The care notes and ADL's is reviewed by the insurance to pay. When asked to resubmit completed care notes, we were accused of insurance fraud. The insurance company was just aghast about that one. Care givers would not show up but still submit hours worked. Somehow the owner would try to make that our fault. Dishonest and not good people to take care of anyone's parent. We don't know about the other RaH locations, but we do this one. We reported this incident immediately to HC. Alice, the owner contacted me and asked me to pay for the medical check using our homeowners policy. Are you kidding me, this was completely inappropriate - as they inspected our property before coming out and we were not the caregivers employer. We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father.
