My dad and I worked extensively with Sara and Nanci for over two years, and I don't know how we would have managed without their help. They helped coordinate my dad's move and make sure he was safe in his new apartment, and helped us manage medication challenges, navigate difficult hospital and rehab stays, and plan next steps after discharge. They advised us (always in a non-judgmental and not pushy way) when we weren't sure what to do and offered us logistical and practical support. At a time when we really needed help, they were the best support system we could have asked for. I was also glad that the owner of the company, Ariel Goward, was on call to help when Sara wasn't available. I highly recommend Senior Services of Austin to anyone needing assistance with issues related to caring for an aging family member.

Normally she stays…read moreat an adult day care facility during the day but she came down with covid and was sent home, I reached out to Kyndal at WellsBranch FirstLight Home Care and she set up an appointment to come interview us and do a home safety inspection. She was able to arrange for a caregiver to start the next day. Myka, the caregiver, was so good with my wife. They sat on the couch and looked through old photo albums and watched TV. Myka also did an amazing job of house keeping and got all of the laundry done. She prepared lunches for my wife and made sure she was comfortable. When Kyndal found out that our 41st anniversary was the next day she showed up Anniversary cards for the two of us. Also Nina Oh, the owner, brought us flowers and desserts! Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. We could not have been more satisfied with the services and will definitely be using their services in the future.

The garden outside, which has a weekly meeting but you can go to anytime, is enjoyable. There are other games too (bridge, bingo, Mexican train, rummikub), dances, classes, sometimes movies. The arts are not a strong point as painting and stuff are show up with your own stuff with no instruction and few do, but other things are excellent. There are outings to various locales, but you have to sign up with a lottery system at the beginning of the month as only some can go, but still good. It's definitely helped my retirement!

I didn't know what to ask for because I didn't know what was available ...I just knew we needed help. They listened to me, exhausted & crying, and then quickly got my mom into a medicare paid home health routine. Not once did I have to remind them to follow through on their promises. Calls are always answered and I truly don't know if they even have voicemail. They took our $0 budget and quickly turned it into a whole team of knowledgeable and compassionate caregivers. We reported this incident immediately to HC. Alice, the owner contacted me and asked me to pay for the medical check using our homeowners policy. Are you kidding me, this was completely inappropriate - as they inspected our property before coming out and we were not the caregivers employer. We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father. I would definitely not recommend this company. I have been a healthcare administrator for over 30 years - and knew the procedures for employee incidents.
