So I've been sitting on this review for almost a year. I contacted AMT in September 2022, 2 months prior to my wedding on 11/11/22 because we needed limo service from Ala Moana Hotel to Honolulu Country Club. After some back and forth we finally figured out the details (which limo on the way to venue, which bus to bring us back to the hotel, pick up times, total cost). Steve was responsive and professional. 1 week prior to our wedding he contacted me to confirm the pick up times and limo type....and the pick up time was WRONG. Not only was the pick up time wrong, but now the 12 pax limo I reserved was no longer available. I mean, thank god he contacted me a week in advance, right? Well, they didn't have any limos available to accommodate more than 8. So, now we go back and forth again, looking through our email communication trying to find where the mix up was. We found where the miscommunication was and it happened to be that Steve entered the wrong time. He was very apologetic and tried his best to contact other limo companies and find me a limo that met my requirements. After 3 days of trying to accommodate my original limo reservation, unfortunately, we had to settle for an 8pax limo. I was really stressed out about the situation. I mean, a week before the wedding I find out we don't have the 12 pax limo we reserved and then 4 days before the wedding I find out we only have an 8 pax limo. It was a really stressful week. Now, I don't have anything bad to say about Steve or the company. He always remained professional and responsive during our communication. Even though he got the time wrong, he didn't make up any excuses and took accountability for his mistake. He was apologetic and tried his very best to accommodate our transportation. Even with the mistake, I appreciate the accountability. I also have no complaints with his customer service. He honored us a discount, which I felt was a reasonable amount. As a small business owner myself, I understand the importance of keeping my customers happy and providing the best service possible. Even if we make a mistake, we will try our best to make it up to our customers. Happy customers, good reviews, and referrals is what keeps us in business. Yeah, I panicked and stressed out for a few days. In the end, my wedding was beautiful and we were safely transported before and after the wedding.

Why are you blocking my driveway?

Why is this company parking their vehicles in front of my house and blocking my driveway? This is a residential neighborhood and I am pretty sure that no commercial activity is allowed especially while blocking a resident's driveway and dropping off a bus load of tourist. This company obviously does not care about the rules and just cares about making money off of tourist.

We had a wedding in Hawaii and needed transportation for the day of the wedding... from the hotel to the wedding site for the guests and then for the wedding party. Very good communication, Quickly responds to email. Punctual. Limo was clean. Per the guests, the buses were clean and the driver was really nice. We went over a little on time, but they were really cool and didn't over charge us. We also had friends who wanted to do a round island tour and they took about 20 guests around the island.. They are very knowledgeable and can help you out with the itinerary as well. Rates are very reasonable. Tip: if you are a foodie, steve (owner) and his wife are foodies and know all the good places to eat on Oahu. :)

We used their service for our wedding photo shoot. Booking was very easy. Steve and Wei Wei replied fast to all my emails and answered all my questions. They also helped us to choose the best locations to take pictures. They picked us up exactly on time. The driver was very nice and did above and beyond to be as helpful as possible. We had to make some last minute changes and switch locations, he was kind and made sure we were very happy with everything. All and all we were very happy with AM Tours. We'll definitely use them again when we need transportation services in Oahu. The lemo we had was new and well maintained and from the impression I have I bet all their other vehicles are the same. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs transportation services in the Honolulu.

Kayaking trip at lanakai courtesy of their recommendation and shuttle

I recently returned from a mini-vacation in Waikiki. It was an impromptu trip taking advantage of cost-effective airfare from San Jose. Since I knew it would be a quick 3-day turnaround, I knew I didn't need a rental car since hotel parking will break any sort of savings a group of 6 could achieve. I'm usually hesitant to use under-reviewed businesses on Yelp, but figured why not try it out since they offered 20% off if you mentioned this ad and the pictures of the vehicles looked very clean. Since there were 6 of us, it made perfect sense to split a shuttle. A large SUV with parking fees, to kick it in DT Waikiki, made little sense. We got picked up in their Sprinter which was super clean and air conditioned. Plus star for living up to your pictures! The driver was also very kind to take us to convenient store for us to pick up some bare essentials and booze! The driver explained they can also do charters for tours around the island. I will definitely give them a look when I return later this Fall with my relatives. I thought the convenience coupled with the quality of vehicle was worth the $$.

So glad I get to enjoy my Giovanni shrimp, Ted's pie and beer and not worry about the drive back in town.

I had some family come in from the mainland for a wedding in Waikiki. Many of them had never been to Hawaii and wanted to see the North Shore, swim with turtles and basically do things not located in Waikiki. But of course there was no volunteers to drive everyone to the north shore and many of my family members should not be allowed to rent cars and drive in an unfamiliar location. I looked into renting a van and driving it myself but wasn't confident I'd be able to park a huge van. AM tours was the perfect solution. The van we rented for the day came with a friendly driver, picked up the fam in Waikiki (waited for the ones that were running late) and drove us all out to the north shore in traffic! He stopped wherever we wanted to take pics and took the pics so we could all be in them! He even did a last minute stop at Pali lookout when we asked. Got lunch at Giovanni's. We could even stop at tamuras for poke and a few beers because no one had to be designated driver. Stopped at the north shore beaches. So glad I wasn't the one trying to park and keep track of everyone out there. And we could all nap on the way back to town after a long day. I would definitely book with AM tours the next time I have family coming in. It's basically your own private tour of the island in a clean, air conditioned van at a super reasonable price when you split it up among the adults. And no one gets stuck driving.

My grandson and I almost got hit by an AM Tour Bus in Magic Island parking lot at 9:30 am on June 5, 2017. Train your drivers. The van headed straight toward the curb, turned and the front tire went up on the curb. The bus was heading right at us. We could have been killed. We were walking on the sidewalk in the parking lot on the Waikiki side of Magic Island Train that driver.

He gave us a bit of the history of Oahu and the Hawaiian culture as we passed different sites. He was entertaining and helpful and made for an enjoyable shuttle experience!

The Highlight -- Leo the Tour Guide The best part of the entire day was our driver and guide, Leo. He was kind, informative, and thoughtful from start to finish. You could tell he genuinely cared about the guests and took pride in sharing the history and making the ride enjoyable. He truly set the tone in a positive way, and he deserves recognition for that. The Biggest Issue -- Time (or lack of it) The main problem with this tour is simple: everything felt rushed. We arrived at Pearl Harbor National Memorial around 8:25 AM and immediately started moving. By 8:27, we were already trying to quickly go through the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park. We barely had time to walk the submarine itself and didn't have any time to explore the museum building before needing to head across the complex for our 9:15 AM call time for the USS Arizona Memorial. Even though we were on time, we were initially placed on standby. After realizing we might miss our 10:40 AM bus return, we had to speak up just to get onto the correct launch. Because of that, we missed the 20-minute documentary that plays before visiting the memorial--which is a pretty important part of the experience. The memorial itself was meaningful, but the visit is only about 15 minutes, which felt surprisingly short given the significance. Ford Island & Missouri -- Not Enough Time Next, we headed to Ford Island, where we had lunch and visited the aviation hangars. These exhibits were good, but again, time was limited. Guided tours weren't clearly explained, and it felt like if you joined one, you'd miss seeing other areas entirely. The biggest disappointment for me was the USS Missouri. This was the main attraction I had been looking forward to my entire life. I could have easily spent half a day exploring the ship--but instead, we were rushed through it. I didn't get to fully experience the areas I wanted, missed out on exhibits, and didn't even have time to properly explore or enjoy the ship at my own pace. On top of that: We weren't informed ahead of time that the front turrets were under restoration It started pouring rain toward the end of our visit, and we got soaked The rushed schedule meant we didn't even have time to browse shops or grab anything onboard It turned what should have been the highlight of the day into the biggest letdown. Suggested Improvement One major area for improvement: transportation logistics. There were multiple hotel drop-offs at the end of the day, which took about 1 hour and 40 minutes before we even reached our stop. When you factor in pickup time as well, that's easily 2.5-3 hours of the day spent just driving. If the company reduced the number of stops to 2-3 max, they could significantly cut down travel time and give guests more time at the actual sites, which is what everyone is really there for. Final Thoughts This tour has potential, and Leo was outstanding--but the overall structure made the experience feel rushed and, at times, stressful. If you: Want to take your time Are a history buff or military enthusiast Or want to fully experience each site ...I would honestly recommend visiting Pearl Harbor on your own. You'll save money (around $500 for two people in our case) and have the freedom to explore at your own pace. Great guide, but the schedule needs serious improvement. - Dr. Rick

As a first-time visitor to Hawaii, this experience was incredibly stressful, deeply disorganized, and poorly coordinated. Our day started at 2:00 AM for a 6:30 AM flight, only to find out the Maui airport doesn't even open until 6:00 AM. Thank goodness we had TSA PreCheck, or we would have missed our flight running to the gate. The issues only compounded once we landed: Zero Airport Guidance: The company email stated a taxi company (Charlies Taxi) would pick us up. Being completely new to the islands, we didn't know where to go. Airport staff gave us conflicting directions, and we spent a frustrating amount of time wandering around just to find the pickup zone. No Greeters or Communication: There was nobody to meet us at the airport. After calling the taxi company and waiting 15 minutes, we finally got a ride to Pearl Harbor. Left Stranded at Pearl Harbor: Once we arrived at Pearl Harbor, there was again nobody to greet us, despite a text from the driver saying he would be waiting. We waited outside for 45 minutes. I finally had to call the tour company to find out where our guide was. I only found our group because I actively approached a guide myself. Unwelcoming Attitude: We were told beforehand we could leave bags on the bus. When I asked the guide to unlock the bus for my backpack, he made me feel like I was a massive inconvenience and a bother. Rushed Experience: To top it off, we received an email during the tour telling us we had to call and arrange our own return taxi through Charlie taxi. The tour ended so abruptly and quickly that we missed the actual ending of the experience because we had catch our flight back.
