Maybe I caught the guy there on a bad day... but I had a key that was already cut, and I had…read moreswapped housings to a new one because the old one was old and wanted a new, better looking case with the remote buttons for a Toyota FJ Cruiser. I needed to get a new transponder chip for the key so it would start the vehicle since the one from the swapped housing was either lost or damaged when I disassembled the old housing. I had that key made a couple years and it worked perfectly but unfortunately (my fault) the chip was not working after disassembly. He had other customers and said it would be a wait, that he didn't know if he could do it from the valet key, it could take 15 to 45 minutes and then he stated he didn't even know if it would work. I explained the previous place had done it in about 10 minutes, and he said "maybe you should go back there." The shop which I had it done at was in Florida, so I said that was a bit far. ‍ I was courteous in my attitude, but he basically sounded like he didn't have the time or wanted to even mess with it. I would have gladly waited and paid the fee but the experience left me with a bad taste. Especially since it was only the chip, the key was already cut and the remote buttons already programmed. If he doesn't want my money or business, I'll just go somewhere else.
