I went to this place a couple years when my back was really screaming angry. I felt great cause the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Although some of the people in the lobby looks like office snobs. I loved the complimentary tea and snack as well. First visit got some xrays done. Had some sessions when the lovely chiropractor lady and switched jobs and never was in this area again. I love, love, love this place. I've been seeing Dr. Ellison since last summer, and every experience has been friendly, professional, and genuine. The staff here know you by name, and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The minute you walk in, there are snacks, tea, and/or water available to you. I went there two times. I asked a question about how my insurance covers the costs and how I can get an appointment. It was obvious that they don't want to provide service to me. each time they made an excuse for that. this time they told me that since we have a plan that takes your lifestyle into account you better go to another offices! their way of speaking was so humiliating. it seems that they choose their clients in an unfair way. totally disappointmetd. read more

I admit, this place was wonderful until they had an issue. I was seeing Dr Ellison several times during my third trimester due to hip pain. At the time, I had two different types of insurance policies and had given them the incorrect insurance company to bill to. Anyway, long story short, they didn't want to deal with billing the correct insurance company and waiting for their money, which I could understand but before I even had a chance to discuss this with them... Dr Ellison got on the phone and literally berated me for giving them the wrong insurance company's information and told me that the best thing for me to do was to pay them out of pocket and me bill the insurance company myself. I was shocked and quite simply hung up and did just that. Of course being pregnant in my third trimester, I was even more upset. She was the person caring for me and supposedly taking care of me during this sensitive time. I'd like to say that I made this same error with another chiropractic clinic that I was seeing around the same time (pregnancy brain, sorry) and they just rebilled the correct insurance company... no big deal.. and got their money. Ive been receiving care here for 6 months. Dr Ellison is very thorough with her exams and treatments and is very good at patient education. My health has improved, I'm fatigued less and have much less pain and range of motion. The scheduling is really flexible which is great for my busy schedule. I've been under the care of ACW for 2+ years and feel like I've gotten what I needed. Playing soccer constantly jolts my alignment and Dr. Ellison puts me back together. So far, Shirley and Jerry are awesome therapist who alleviate my usual knots. I've gotten better range of motion and less headaches from my treatment here. I have other teammates who come here as well. Not trying to be a sales rep here but, they relocated to the WSECU building that gives bigger square footage and more parking - they're doing something right if they're expanding. On another note, I had all kinds of insurance issues b/c the carriers couldn't get it together. I was basically covered under 3 but tried to change to only one. ACW waited out on billing me after 3 visits until I could get it fixed. For me, ACW was cooperative/flexible for my situation. Not quite sure what happened for the other one-star post - but just wanted readers to realize ACW doesn't always treat their clients this way. read more

Dr Ellison is the best chiropractor I have ever been to. Years of exercise and sports left me with extreme lower back pain, to the point I could barely reach down past my knees. After an initial evaluation I started seeing her a couple of times a week for adjustments until I started feeling better. I see her now every 2-3 weeks for tune-ups and I feel great! Katherine Ellison is an excellent chiropractor. She is attentive and personable ~ as are her staff. The office is cozy and smells good too ~ the scents from the oil burners are very relaxing (it's so distinct; and inviting from the 1st floor lobby). They've also got healthy snacks for you to enjoy while waiting for your appointment or to go when your appointment's over (they're a good holdover for dinner on my commute home). I had to have one hip replaced 2 years ago, and the other one was starting to cause me some serious pain along with my knee from favoring my hip for so long. Started seeing Dr. E and the improvement has been amazing. She got me realigned and walking straight again. Dr. Ellison is A.....Mazing! I started seeing her around 2004 for chronic pain which I then realized was Chronic Lyme Disease. I took my treatment down another pathway and haven't regularly been adjusted over the last 3 years. But a few months ago, I was in a car accident and suffered whiplash and other pain to top off my already chronic pain. She does these really cool body scans that visibly show where you're "off" and inflamed. I love looking at them and seeing a visual of how I feel. Then seeing the progress. It's a really neat tool. I recommend Dr. Ellison to anyone I hear of who has back pain. She can help you! AND, if she doesn't know something or how to fix it, she'll find the right person and/or solution. She has also recommended me to a fantastic massage therapist to help with the accident pain, as well as a fantastic lawyer. So yes, Dr. Ellison is top notch! read more

I've been going here for 2 years for chiropractic, acupuncture, and occasionally massage. It's funny, I had never read any of the reviews before, but have experienced what quite a few people below said on several occasions, which I find interesting. You'd think they would attempt to change their attitude if multiple people are telling them they have an attitude. After today, I am done. Here's the details; A year ago, I had a terrible massage, she literally didn't go near the area where I was feeling pain, the entire reason I went for a massage in the first place. Terrible customer service followed when I said something, they argued with me, treated me like I was stupid and knew nothing about the human body, etc... I became pregnant with twins shortly after and didn't even want to begin looking for a new practice, so I continued to go for chiro and loved my acupuncture. Fast forward to Friday, to no fault of her own, Dr. Ellison was not able to get to work because of the pileup on the 5. I got a phone call literally 5 minutes before my appointment (she had been stuck on the freeway for 2 hours, so a 30 minute warning would have been nice as I was already outside), but I understood and rescheduled with the secretary for Monday. Apparently they called and left a message later that day that she would not be able to see me at my scheduled time... I have twins under a year old, I don't check my messages, I'm trying to keep my head on straight. I showed up for my scheduled appointment with my twins in tow and the secretaries turned me away AND had SO much attitude about it ("because we called" they said). I don't give a F*** if you called! If you schedule an appointment, you honor that appointment. It wasn't even like the doctor wasn't there... She was there! I marched right back there and talked with her (she was sitting in her office without a patient in sight) and she went straight to the defensive saying the same thing... "we called". Again, it doesn't matter if you called... If I don't get the message, it is still your responsibility to honor the appointment. It takes 30 minutes to get twins under the age of 1 out the door fed with clean diapers and another 30 minutes to drive there. I was seriously dumbfounded at the attitude I received. I cried. There are a ton of chiropractors in Seattle. If you want to stay in business, figure out the attitude problem! read more

I am so thankful for the folks at Dr Ellison's clinic, I began seeing her when I got sick back in the fall of 2013. Doctors I was seeing at the time did not think I would recover from my condition but through her care I did in fact regain function. I originally was referred by a friend, and I was in really terrible pain. I couldn't turn my neck or bend over without acute pain. I had been to a chiropractor before but they didn't help me at all.
