My mom needed a referral to see an orthopedist and pain management specialist due to severe, debilatating back pain. After 20 days of me calling several times a week I received a phone call that she had been approved to see a pain specialist. When they called I said do you know she actually went to the hospital in the middle of the night from her assisted living because they couldn't manage the pain with her Norco, she said we did see that on our patient portal so this is probably why someone bothered to move forward with her referral. The pain management specialist that they can refer her to is a minimum hour car ride away, which there is no way she can tolerate and there is no closer option in this group that they can refer her to. On top of that she didn't see a request for the orthopedic referral, which I had talked to the nurse practitioners assistant several times about to be sure things were moving forward. After many phone conversations with several people at Senior Docs, none of them called me back when I left messages fyi so it was good fortune when I got a hold of someone, I learned that they had several computer "systems" so the first week the assistant hadn't even seen the referrals to forward it to the correct person until I had called as the ordering nurse wasn't sure why it took so long to get approval. Then somehow only one of three referrals made it to the proper person that gets the approval from the insurance company. They tried to say that my mom's insurance company is slow at approving referrals when it is now clear the bottle neck is at Senior Doc, the need to receive the request to be able to approve. One person that I talked to explained there is only one person handling the referrals for about 300 patients, so that is clearly a problem besides the fact that there are major breakdowns in their office computer systems. I never realized how important a good Group is when choosing a primary care doctor because you are really at their mercy when trying to get care and a poorly run company is very detrimental.

So of course I was upset because I finally get a call back and it's regarding my comment. By this point, I had already changed my PCP and got an appointment for my medical situation. So, yes, I no longer needed your services. Regardless, I hope you can do better by your current and future clients. If you are unable to met demands it might be time to hire more hands or get a better system. My experience doesn't need to be everyone else's.

How about giving mandatory in-service classes regarding these valuable traits? it would go a long way towards building trust and comfort-particularly for terminal patients and their families. If it had been up to me,he would've been removed from the premises immediately after having requested pain medication for him, and being told he was going to be given Tylenol. It was known that he was in agonizing pain. It was known that his cancer had metastasized. He was agitated and in terrible distress, and it was all traded very cavalierly. What is Tylenol going to do for him besides nothing? 45 minutes later, there was still no sign of the Tylenol. As I stated before, this is unacceptable and absolutely disgusting. To top it all off, his nurse was told twice his catheter had become separated, and bodily fluids were leaking all over his bed. While she twice acknowledged she was aware his catheter was leaking, she made no move to fix it. Whatever happened to common decency and treating others with dignity? For context, my mother, sisters, and myself all worked in hospital settings for years. I have never seen such egregious disregard in a hospital setting. Absolutely outrageous and inexcusable.

Months later, I received a bill from a third-party laboratory (Specialized University Pathologists) for services that were never explained or approved, and my child never visited this practice. When I attempted to resolve the issue, I encountered multiple problems: I was unable to reach anyone for months The laboratory changed their address and phone number after the initial invoice No chain of custody for the specimen could be provided No consent or authorization was on file No documentation linking the test to my child was produced Despite the lack of proof, I was threatened with collections. Ultimately, I paid the bill solely to avoid potential credit damage--not because the charge was valid. What was most disappointing was the lack of support or advocacy from PM Pediatrics in resolving this issue, even though the situation stemmed from care received at their facility. After over a year of effort, I was left with no meaningful assistance. I strongly encourage patients to ask detailed questions about third-party labs and billing practices before agreeing to any testing.

He helped push my wheelchair and even brought in a boot and called other clinics to see if they would be able to take my insurance. So, I learned quickly that when I go to this office, I pay upfront and ask if there are any outstanding or extra charges to pay for. I will always pay in advance!! Well, months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I did not pay for my $25 office visit. Upon looking at the date in question, I investigated my bank statement, I saw that I had indeed paid. I copied the payment from my bank statement, and also a copy from the bill. Faxed it to them to let them know I paid in full as I always do. Well, I receive a call later, stating that the dates they had were wrong. It was another date they had in mind. When I questioned that date and validated it with payment, they came up with another date. This office is about money, not the quality of care. If you are ok with that, then this is the office for you. I would rather go to an office that CARES about the patient FIRST, the quality of care, then the billing.

I've been under the care of Dr. Buten. I appreciate his efficiency, but also his time to care about my health and goals. I feel like he strikes a great balance with not spending forever at the doctors office, but also gets the job done. I've primarily only visited with him, so can't speak for the PA staff, but think his care is great. He is also very responsive on the portal, which is much easier than calling--love that feature! All of the staff are courteous and nice when I've had to come in. It's somewhat easy to get an appointment within the week or so. Office is clean and organized. Usually don't have to go too often, but glad I've found a place that is comfortable for me to go to!

When I tried to make an appointment it would have been 3 weeks before he had time available. I told them all I needed was to renew my prescriptions. So they told me Alison the PA could help me with that. At least she was able to see me within 5 days. And it didn't start well with her but it ended well. First of all, the chart that she reviewed before seeing me wasn't mine but she corrected it. Second, with the new Memorial Care system, some of my information was missing so I had to let her know how much MG some of my medication was...annoying. What I like about Alison was she was very thorough. She had requested all my lab test and one blood test that was the latest in testing for cancer. Today, I got my results back from Quest (which took 2 weeks), let's see if they follow up on my results. I guess no news is good news. If no one follows up I will definitely switch providers. In the meantime, I'll go on Quest website and see if I can figure it out.
