DO NOT TAKE A FORMAL DRESS. I brought in a dress for a formal event and they did not hem where my dress was pinned. They made it ridiculously short. The problem is that the nice lady pinning the garment is not the one doing the alterations so it gets lost in translation. I would only use them for simple items. Unfortunately, all the reviews are accurate, at least in our experience. My husband took his uniforms so they would sew on his Corporal rank. The first time it took them a week to get it done and out of the 4 uniform blouses, only 1 was correct. My husband went back to let them know they got the rest wrong. They told him they would be ready in another week. I picked them up today and yet again, they are all wrong. My husband explained to them how they had to be and they said they understood. Clearly, they did not. I called to let them know they are all wrong again. They asked me to bring them back Monday but I asked, "how many more times after that do we need to take them back for them to be right?", especially with the turn around being a week. I have no faith in that they will be fixed and at this point my husband does not want to bother because we have given them more than one opportunity. All in all, my husband ended up paying 90$!!! for the 1 blouse that was right. We were not offered a discount, or a partial refund for their mistakes. What is more boggling to me is, they were able to do one correctly. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Poor job with altering Senior prom dress. Paid 275 to have it altered. Uneven seams! Took it back to ask about certain things, rude AF. They could have cared less. Don't even get me started on the bustle we had added!! Terrible, terrible job! Told them I was dissatisfied, told me to have a good day! I went for a hem on a bridesmaid dress. I called before hand to find out pricing before taking it in the lady claimed $35 to start with additional for each layer. Seemed reasonable the dress was thin and needed the slightest hem. I ask if it can be steamed due to some winkling. I get a call saying they were unable to get the wrinkles out and to take it to a cleaners. I didn't think much of it then before pick up I call for the final price. $85 for a simple hem!!!!! Her justifications didn't even make sense saying the fabric was difficult to work with not to mention the complete disaster of the stitching!!! The shotty alterations didn't even match up to the astronomical price point! Instead of saying she couldn't do it correct she butchered my dress and had the audacity to over charge for it! I'd give it negative 0 stars if that were an option! WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND read more

First off, after 10 days we were told that the person who did repair work wasn't there and wouldn't be for another few days. This happened twice so 10 days ended up being almost 3 weeks. We were not in a hurry at all but just be upfront if you can't get it done. When I got my jeans back. The sewing looked like I had done it! In other words, a very poor job that looked like it was done by someone who'd never done it before. The stuck/broken zippers were fixed. Would not recommend, will not go back. read more

Well it looks like even after a year of very bad reviews, the owners still haven't done a good job to make a better impression. My husband took 3 suit jackets to have sleeves hemmed. He was told they'd be ready in 14 Days. Went to pick up on day 13 and on two jackets, one sleeve was longer than the other. 3rd jacket hadn't been touched yet. Owner told him to take the two jackets, as he needed for meetings, and she'd work on the 3rd jacket. He told her he couldn't bring the other two back for repairs until day 20, she said no problem. So she now actually had an extra 7 Days to complete alterations on 3rd jacket. He went to pick up third jacket and drop off the first two jackets on day 26 and they told him that the 3rd jacket (which they've had since day 1) still wasn't complete. He asked why and they blamed him because he didn't being first 2 jackets back for repairs on day 20. He told them that they've had that jacket for 26 Days now and they haven't even touched it.... owner said she's been busy with prom. He asked her why that would be his problem. He took the jacket that they hadn't bothered with and will take elsewhere. He said he'd leave the other two jackets that needed repairs since they made mistakes in alterations, and would be back to pick them up. She told him it would be 14 Days. Again he asked why it would take so long. She said prom...... the owners unfortunately do not care about their customers, they don't do a decent job of alterations, and are not trustworthy enough to get the job done for us to ever take anything to them again!l.! I don't live in Lubbock, but was there late December 2016, and took a jacket to Alterations Unlimited to have the zipper repaired. I paid almost $60.00 for the repair. My zipper completely broke early January 2017. I called Alterations Unlimited, spoke with the owner Veronica, and asked for a refund. Veronica refused to give me a refund and said their repair of the zipper was not faulty and didn't care to see pictures as proof. Terrible customer service. Terrible work. I do not recommend Alterations Unlimited for your alteration needs. My family will take their business elsewhere. read more

This place is the worst. I dropped several pairs of pants off for a simple hem and was really very unhappy with my experience and their work 1. They told me they would be ready on a specific day and when I went to pick them up on that day they told me I would have to come back because they weren't done. I've had lots of pants altered and I've never had to wait over a week for a hem. 2. None of the pants were hemmed correctly. Every single one is still too long. I even brought the shoes I wanted to wear each pant with and still they got it wrong. 3. They used a white crayon to mark the hem which you can still see on the outside of the pant (because they didn't hem to the correct length in the first place!). Even after washing the mark is still there. 4. The workers had a terrible attitude. Really rude. I'm sure there are plenty of good places for alterations in Lubbock. Find one of them and don't waste your money here. read more
