Had an appointment on Saturday, August 3rd at 9am that I had called and scheduled in April. Got no showed and waited 15 minutes before and after for the appointment. Just got a call today saying I no showed for my appointment at 10:30am...why wasn't I given a call on Saturday then? Very unprofessional. read more

Hmmm.... I thought the experience was "fine" until I went to another alteration shop in town (Alchemy) and realized that the customer service here actually is pretty poor. I had an item (curtain) that was a very simple cut/ shorten, cuff that I needed quickly. I asked if they had time to do it and they agreed reluctantly... charged an arm and a leg and wanted to keep my scrap fabric that would make an entire other curtain. It's not that I had a terrible experience and the work was fine, but Id much rather go to Alchemy where she is personable, talks with you about pricing and asks for input and I get the feeling she appreciates my business rather than me being a nuisance to her. I'd rather not be a nuisance I guess but a valued customer. read more

DO NOT use this person for alterations. My granddaughter bought a $280.00 prom dress and was directed to this shop for alterations. The lady said she could fix it. With only a few days until needed we picked up the dress. Alteration shop had not done much, and made wings in bodice, so it stuck out. Plus they made a run in the fabric down the side of the dress. Now we are paying more money for a rush fix at a private alteration person. This person should not own a shop, not only did she ruin a dress my granddaughter had saved up for. But she also had no customer a service skills and treated my granddaughter with disrespect! Go to a private alteration person, search online, get recommendations, but do not use Alteration Shop. read more

I just counted...I had to go there 9 times to get my very simple wedding dress altered. They didn't prioritize my dress until super close to my wedding date. Every time I came in for a fitting there was some excuse for why she had hardly done anything. Literally I show up and Deb is sewing my dress or asks me to come back in 15 minutes, and then when I see it, all that has been done in a week was pinning up the hem. One time they just told me to come back another day after I had already biked all the way there. A phone call sure would have been nice. The quality is mediocre and I definitely noticed several flaws. In fact, on my wedding day we had to resew some of the lace. On top of it all, the price isn't cheap. read more

This place ruined my dress. The work was very amateurish and when I got my altered dress home, looked at it, and saw the mess that they made of it I took it back and asked them to fix their mess. That second time they made it even worse. From the low level of quality I experienced I have to assume that the positive reviews are from customers who went there in the past when this shop had a different owner and different employees and did professional work. If employees are in training they should be given the easy, routine jobs only. In this case the shoulder seem of a sleeveless dress needed to be taken in; to do it in a professional way requires experience, care, and high standards of quality. read more

Took my daughter's homecoming dress there to get altered. They did an okay job with the alterations, but the lady there charged me an arm and a leg to do it. The alterations cost over twice the cost of the dress! Also took forever to get done even tho it was a rush job...we had to pick it up the day of the event. Won't be back!:( read more

I took my grandmother's vintage satin and lace dress in to see what could be done about the fit, and they came up with great ideas to modernize the dress and make it fit me. I couldn't have been happier with the results! All of the alterations cost less than what another shop had quoted me to just hem the dress. Great service, great people, great talent!!! read more

Unfortunately when I wore it on my big day the straps were not altered properly and it did not look very good :(

I took a sport coat there in mid-October to have it narrowed a bit and the sleeves shortened. I was measured for both. It was ready a month later, I took it home without trying on and discovered that the sleeves were VERY short. I took it back and tried it on and they agreed they they were an inch too short and offered to fix it for free. This was about 11/18, and I asked if they could have it ready by 12/15 for a trip I was going on. I returned on 12/15 and it wasn't ready. I never received a call that it was ready, and finally about 2/7, I returned and I was surprised to see the jacket on a hanger behind the cash register with the sleeves torn out. The owner apologized for not having it done (this was almost 7 weeks now), but said that they didn't have a "ticket" for it. She took my name and number, and promised it by the next day. I was traveling again and said I just needed it by the next week. True to their word, they called on the 10th and said it was ready. I was just able to come in today to pick it up. The woman helping me said that they lengthened it as much as they could, which didn't sound good. I tried it on, and the sleeves were now longer than when I started in October! She offered to measure me to fix it, but I told her that I just wanted the jacket back so I could start with someone else. While I was obviously unhappy that it's been 8+ weeks only to have the sleeves longer than I started, I was polite. This time, there were no apologies, no offers of a refund. I like to spend the extra money to have a jacket fit perfectly, but I will NEVER take another item there. read more

The terrible service persisted over weeks. She was supposed to alter my sister's wedding dress and had weeks to do it. When my sister showed up for her fitting (3 weeks before the wedding), she said she had forgotten to do it and begged for a couple of days, promising to have it completely done when my sister came back. My sister returned and it was still not done - not even half done. Third appointment, the woman completely canceled. One week before the wedding, my sister goes to the fitting, and it was a super shoddy job. My sister was in tears. The dress is buckling. She put the corset in but it causes a lot of other problems around the arms and breast - now the originally beautiful dress is folding on itself and fits my sister way worse than it did initially (it practically fit her great before). In the initial consultation, she told my sister that the dress would need to be reinforced with the corset -- but then she didn't do it at all. She knew it would cause problems and did nothing to stop that - and it's a week before the wedding. On top of that, she was supposed to hem the dress but only cut the tulle and did not hem. The cut isn't even straight. It's a disaster. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Very unprofessional. Poor work. No care at all about my sister's feelings or the now frantic timeline. We just took the dress and now have to pay a huge amount of money to go somewhere else for a rush job. They'll have a hard time fixing her hack job. On top of all of this, she doubled the price in the end and then just gave a $40 discount because she didn't have it even started by the three scheduled fittings. read more

I took a very nice figure skating dress to this shop to have a hole mended. When I picked it up I realized their mending job was terrible, but even worse the dress was stained all over the skirt! When I took it back in, the lady was quite rude. No apology was offered. When I asked for my $12.00 back, she said - "Are you kidding me?". I spent $185.00 on this dress, a very big purchase for our family. To have it come back in worse condition was terrible. Please DO NOT use this alteration shop!! read more

I took a pair of hiking pants to be shortened to the Alteration Shop in Fort Collins, and they did an excellent job. They were very friendly and helpful, the work was done quickly, and the price was very reasonable. I picked the pants up just three days after I dropped them off, and the seams they put in looked better than new. I appreciated that they had me try the pants on and stand in front of their mirrors to double check the measurements that I had made at home. I am glad that I took their advice to make the pants a little longer than I had thought - they are perfect now. Also, the shop is in a cute old-fashioned-style house in an old-fashioned neighborhood, so it was fun to visit. read more

I don't write a poor review lightly, in fact, this is the first time I ever have. I took 2 pairs of pants in for a simple hemming. I paid in advance and they were ready on time, however, both hems came out on the first day I wore each of them to work. I returned them and explained the issue and they said something about a particular machine that may not be working. While that might be true, quality control of the products that get returned to clients is on the business owner. They offered to re-do them, and said they would be ready on Friday. I returned to the store on the following Monday and they still weren't done. I returned again on Tuesday and was given my pants again. I asked for a refund based on the fact that I had to return so many times, for what should be the easiest of alterations. It was never about the money, I just wanted them to take responsibility for the poor quality of the work. I was told they would call me back to discuss it. No one called. Now one of the pairs of pants again has a hem thread coming loose. I cannot recommend this business. read more

I took a bridesmaid dress in a month before the wedding and the lady there said it would be ready in 2 weeks. The day she said it was supposed to be ready, I called and she had completely forgotten about my dress! She promised to have it ready by the next day. The next day I called again and she said that I had to come in for another fitting because she couldn't remember where to tack down part of the dress, so I came in and tried it on again. She promised to have it ready in 2 days. I come 2 days later and she didn't remember me at all, and my dress hadn't been touched! She promised again to have it the next morning, which thankfully she did. Good thing I left some buffer time since I have to leave for the wedding in less than a week now! This was all for $100 to shorten 2 layers of fabric. The hem job looks decent at least.... read more
