We looked online at available times. 3:55 was available. He and I discussed if we should come back. When we went to book it, an 11:45 one appeared which was 10 mins away. We assumed someone cancelled. So we booked it. We carried her in and the "manager" Elisha came over as we were checking in with someone else. She said "we haven't even had any of our breaks yet! that's why we already said "NO!" and she said it aggressively. I said but we went to book it and it looked like something opened up. She started getting louder and bobbing her head repeating "we haven't had any breaks yet and it's a "NO!" At this point I'm angry. I told her how unprofessional she was and asked who her manager was and of course she said herself. She was very aggressive and unprofessional. She then told me to "get out" after I said I would be leaving a review on my experience and asked her name to which she proudly offered her business card with the name "Elisha" "Manager" on it. She also told me applications are available?! Thinking I would want to help out sarcastically. She showed my family such disrespect, but his is how she treats her customers. I feel like we were discriminated against because of my daughter having a disability (as it's visible). Highly do not recommend.

I asked if the mistake could have been made on their end, because I had the appointment on my calendar for weeks and remember making it. The other person was not there. They made me wait for 20 minutes, not telling me whether or not they would take me, just saying, "You're not in the book." Meanwhile, the other person did not show up and did not answer their phone when they called her. I told the receptionist I was starting to get frustrated with the situation, because I know I'd made the appointment. After 20 minutes the stylist came out and said that she would not take me because I'd been rude to the receptionist. I was in disbelief and asked her, "Chelsea, Are you really not going to take me? This mistake must have been on your end, and I've been looking forward to this appointment for weeks". She merely told me that her "heart was racing and it wasn't good for her so I'd have to reschedule" Never in our interaction did they acknowledge that the mistake could have been on their end, and they treated me horribly. I'm 72 years old and have never been accused of being rude by a shop in my life. Bijou has no idea how to treat their customers. Their arrogance is beyond belief.

I am a curly haired gal and- let me tell you- I have experienced some pretty awful haircuts in Upstate New York. Lots of places advertise curly cuts, "devacuts", yaddah yaddah- but they truly have no idea what they are doing. I can't tell you how many times I have had to go to NYC for rescue haircuts. ENTER JOLENE AND BIJOU.... if you want a great curly cut, this is where you should be going. Jolene is a genius- she truly understand the dynamic nature of curls and takes her time getting a lay of the "curl land" before she starts snipping. She starts with a dry cut to make sure she doesn't take too much... then she proceeds with the wash and dry process... and then- the grand finale- more styling at the end. She cut my hair before my wedding last July- it was perfect. And she just rejuvenated my mop of hair again today. I find the prices to be very, very fair. As an aside, everyone wears masks at the salon, and they check your temp and employ mandatory hand washing when you first walk in. If you have curly hair and are living in upstate New York/Syracuse, you must try this place.
