I can't say enough good things about this gym and if I could give them 6 stars I would. I was…read morereally, really out of shape when I started here. It had been about a decade since I worked out daily. Many years ago, I was a devoted Pilates Coach/Ball Fitness Studios fan when I lived in Reno. And since then, I've never found a place I really loved or remained committed to. 2SA welcomed me and challenged me in ways I've never been challenged. I tried boxing and Piyo for the first time, loved both. Amanda's classes were great and she even ran over and held my hand doing lunges so I could get into the correct position. With pretty large class sizes, that really says a lot about the instructor. Most of her students had been with her for years, no other place in Monterey Bay has that kind of cult following this gym and its instructors have. Most people want to work out in a place where everyone looks like their ideal physique, and the people who attend this gym are definitely athletes. If you can get over your own insecurities and put in the work, you will love it here. Lastly, customer service is how it should be. Cancelling is easy. Signing up is easy. The monthly payment is low. There are no gimmicks or upselling or hassles. Just show up when you want to try a class and if you like it, join! Unfortunately with COVID I've been home doing Beachbody. I have a small child and can't make the drive over there for the foreseeable future. If I lived in Salinas, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

I like United Strength And conditioning because I'm getting the exercise I need early in the morning so my day already feels accomplished, class size is small, and I'm getting the right amount of push to watch my diet. I also like that it's affordable. Since I've been working on muscle development I have only lost weight 8 lbs but my belly rolls are gone and I finally found my abs. If you are tired of falling short of developing a routine and would rather dish some duckets out to have maintain your routine, I'd recommend you give Couch Art a call, you won't be disappointed.

I am a busy working mom that has no time to train in the afternoons and evenings. His early morning workout schedule works perfectly for me. I started with little to no experience in lifting weights, interval training and martial arts. Despite training as a group, he was very accommodating and adjusted exercises to my limited abilities. His workouts are challenging but he knows how to push me without pushing me over the edge. I honestly didn't care for his combat cross-training class which I would skip from time to time. But now I'm totally addicted to it - especially when we train boxing! Since training with Art I've lost a total of 20 lbs. I'm stronger and more energetic than ever. Poor food choices have been my weakness all my life. However, with Art's guidance I have started to make healthier changes to my nutrition. The great results I'm seeing in my fitness tests along with the awesome members I train with have inspired me to make permanent changes to my lifestyle. I would recommend training at United Strength and Conditioning to anyone. If you've been struggling for results and are in need of some spark in your workout then I wouldn't hesitate to join the team.

For The Past Week I've Been Trying To Cancel My Membership, And Because This Is The Gym I Signed Up With, They Expected Me To Come Back (Which Is Roughly 235 Miles Away) To Cancel . And I Attempted To Just Cancel With Them At The Gym Near My House, As If The Other Planet Fitness Gyms Don't Communicate, Evidently They Don't. The Front Desk Girl Gives Me The Number To This Gym And Says Since They're My "Home Gym" Id Have To Cancel Through Them. I Call Them And With My Luck, The Manager Is Out For The Weekend And I Have To Wait Till Today, Monday. I Call Them Back To Have An Illiterate So Called "Manager" That Wants To Take Offense And Argue With Me About Her Work Hours, As If I Was Concerned. All I Wanted Was To Cancel My Membership And Waive The Fee Since I've Been Trying To Cancel. But Apparently I Signed A Contract That States I'll Pay Another Month Upon Cancelling. And All She Can Do Is Offer Another Month And Transfer My Account To One Out Here. which I'm Not Interested In Either Option. They're Terrible People That Will Get You To Sign Up With A "No Commitment, No Minimum, Month To Month Membership" To Twist Your Arm Behind Your Back And Force You To Top Up Another Month If You're Trying To Cancel, And Continue To Play Games With You Instead Of Cancelling Said Membership, I Wouldn't Recommend This Sorry Excuse Of A Dump To Anyone. Any Other Gym Is Better Than The Experience Ive Had With This Staff. Zero Stars If That Was An Option.

Eric, the boss , front desk staffs , all the trainers and members are very nice, friendly and supportive. 2. The HIIT classes here are awesome ! These classes get me stronger and run faster! After the first 3 months training here, I ran the fastest half marathon in Nov last year and beat my Personal Record of 12 years ago by 12 minutes ! 3. As a long distance runner, these classes help me to prevent injuries by building up my muscular strength and balance . 4. My belly fat burned up after 4 months and I loss 2 inches of the waist line!I also loss 7 lbs which I could not loose with running only! If you are athletes who want to improve your performance , come to The Camp! If you need to be healthy , lose weight and body fat for good , come to The Camp! In conclusion, if you thinking of diet pills or surgery for weight loss, please consider The Camp of Transformation first where you gain both mental and physical health naturally by exercise and eating right! The coaches are there to support you to achieve your goal ! I would recommend The Camp in a heartbeat if you want to join a gym where coaches and members are super nice! You do not feel intimidated! There was a ton of helpful pictures, ideas, and people to inspire me and answer any questions I had. Sometimes you just need a quick answer. So glad I had it! I cannot say enough about this entire journey. I am forever grateful for how this has changed me!

I have never felt stronger in my life and I've lost 16 pounds since working with him (and tracking my calories) He is also very affordable compared to trainers around the peninsula. The gym is small but has everything I need. There are never more than 4 other people in there at a time which is a big plus for me! At this point, I do feel I have learned enough about weight training to not need a trainer, but I don't think I would push myself as hard if Tom weren't there saying "one more" over and over again. Love training here and I'm so excited to see how much stronger I will become!

Been going to this gym for some time now, and I must say it is great…read more Pros: There are no crowds, ample parking, the place is clean, the music is under your control and the few people there are usually very nice. The place has all the equipment I need (I mostly train with free weights) to work out hard. Tom, the owner is an excellent trainer with lots of knowledge to share. Cons: The location is somewhat hidden, the cost is higher than other gyms, no crowds (if you are into people watching), no showers. I am just a BIG fan of this place. The cost is a little high, but that just means that only people serious about working out go there. I would give this place a 4.5, but since that is not an option I will round up to a 5. In case you are wondering the -.5 would be for the bathrooms not having any shower stalls. Update (11-17-2009)** I stand by what I said before, I really liked working out here, but I was just on the receiving end of a 4 letter word laden tirade from the owner because I turned the tv off. This is something I was given permission to do, but the owner feels that pressing the power button on the tv "broke everything". I follow all the rules, re-racked my weights, wiped down when I was done, etc. I was a model member so it was completely out of the blue for him to call my house to cuss me out. So it's a great place to work out, just be aware you could be on the receiving end of a tongue lashing. It's up to you if you want to stick around after that, I for one am not.

I look and feel awesome and my clothing all fits. I do pinup modeling, so this was a lifesaver. The trainers, particularly Scott, are incredibly encouraging and supportive and you're able to reach them for support on nutrition and recovery. They are also proactive about reaching out to you so that you stay on track. They will make you meeting your goal their personal goal, so you're not going it alone. I started as a six week challenger, and while I did not meet my goal of 6% body fat loss, I chose to stay on to pursue my next fitness goal (not weight related), because I want to preserve my gain in muscle and strength. The cost per month is very reasonable for what is essentially small group training and access to the expertise of really great trainers. The gym is focused on functional strength, HIIT and Tabata style workouts that are a complete whole body workout in a short amount of time. Expect kettle bells, club bells, squats, and lots of body weight based exercises, along with a warmup and cool down, and assistance with a nutrition plan. They are expanding into striking classes and kids' programs as well. I dance ballet and practice yoga and was pleasantly surprised that I did not lose flexibility during my challenge and have better structural support in general for the demands of the disciplines. I'm able to balance better and longer, and lift and hold my legs higher because of this work. They have two locations: one in Monterey and one in Toro Park. No showers, but otherwise well appointed. You're able to reserve classes ahead of time using their push press app. If you're ready for a reset, just sign up for classes. It's a nice community and they'll take care of you and teach you to take care of yourself.
