Great little place. We sat in the back. But if u can get the front window seat, its probably the best seat in the house. Came here for brunch / breakfast with my friends. Overall, great options of food. Coffee to lattes. I had a chai latte, it was pretty good and came in a cute mug. I had the Acai bowl. It was pretty big and very presentable. Everything was pretty good overall, except for the pancake pieces, it was a little dry. I would recommend if u are a traveler looking for a good american-y style breakfast option.
I was LUCKY to find out about Alsur Cafe thanks to the hotel staff. Was about a 10 minute walk from my hotel and they recommended this breakfast place. Was absolutely amazing, went around 8am so I was seated right away. The inside is pretty small, but the vibe is cute and cozy. Ordered wayyyy too much food. Started the meal off with a Sangria like most of my meals in Barcelona. Do NOT get the carrot cake pancakes unless that's all you are getting. They are delicious but EXTREMELY heavy. I was ready to take a nap the second I finished them. My favorite thing on the menu though is the Smashed eggs with potatoes and Iberico ham. This was a treat to say the least. Very nice presentation and was all around delicious. Everything from the eggs to the crispy potatoes just made this dish a huge win. Had to try the grilled cheese waffle also and that was great as well. Really nice breakfast spot that you should definitely try if you're ever in town
Great restaurant. Very cute inside, the server was welcoming, and the food was excellent! We each enjoyed different coffees on the menu - Bombon, the marshmallow latte, and the Frappuccino. All great but I will add, the frap was not blended so it's not what you'd expect in other places. Still good. We shared the carrot cake pancakes to start (WOW). Possibly the best pancakes I've had (they are sweet). Then for the primary course we had smashed eggs, the burrito, and the fried chicken waffle. The smashed eggs were great, it had their crisps, eggs, and meat as listed. Would recommend. The burrito was open and deconstructed but very good. Lastly, the chicken waffle was great! The chicken was like a Katsu, moist on the inside and nice and crunchy on the outside. Overall, we very much enjoyed this place. Stop by the pastry display if you have extra room!
Came here for brunch and had the berry smoothie bowl & the turmeric latte. I liked the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant. It's very calming and a cute place for brunch with a friend. My server suggested the smoothie bowl and it was yummy! Service was great and everyone was very friendly and welcoming!
The atmosphere is good here. The food probably not Spanish in the traditional style, but definitely added some twists to it. The tea we ordered was a bit weird, we asked to change it, but the result was still not earl grey as expected. The arepa reina pepiada is refreshing and light. Make sure you mix the sauces, and the corns would mix well if you cut is off the stock. The scrambled eggs is very popular here it seems. And it actually resembles the Spanish Omelette being deconstructed. But the way it cooked, with the potato being fried to crispy and egg being scrambled in way that is not too over cooked, so the moisture is there from the egg. This is an interesting approach to bring out the egg flavor.
Orange, mango, banana: this was fresh and refreshing. Marshmallow vanilla latte: this was sweet and had the perfect amount of flavors. I wanted the chicken and waffles but unfortunately they told me I was not able to get it. Not sure if they ran out or something happened with the machine. Avocado burger: this was good. The sandwich had a lot in it where when I took a bite everything fell out and I just got all bread lol Eggs Benedict on a bagel with bacon: this was good it tasted like your typical eggs Benedict but topped on a bagel. Berry bowl: this was good! This bowl is big! It was like a giant berry smoothie. Topped with strawberries, banana, and granola.
Barcelona has so many great breakfast/brunch options to choose from and Alsur Cafe is no exception. We had a great breakfast here before moving on to the rest of our activities for the day. We shared the Choco-Banana Kaiser Pancakes and Eggs Benedict on Bagel with Iberian Ham between three people and it was a perfect amount of food. The pancakes were absolutely delicious, I definitely recommend ordering it! The pancake is already sliced up into smaller pieces which makes it fast and easy to eat. The eggs Benedict was also delicious and the Iberian Ham is always a must-eat food delicacy. I also enjoyed my matcha latte, it was well-made and had the perfect amount of flavor. Alsur Cafe is a great option for breakfast or brunch in a Barcelona and I would certainly recommend them for future visits!
Right as you walk in, you feel transported to those amazing mom & pop coffee houses that existed in Los Angels before corporate coffee companies moved in. The menu is extremely well thought out. I'd really expect to find a shop like this either in West Hollywood, Melrose Ave, Calabasas California. Fresh juices, traditional hot teas in individual defusers. A menu that clearly is catching the millennials and foodies alike. Very generous portions, and a well balanced melody of flavors that though you're offered condiments, you'll find yourself not using it. A true delight! Easy on the wallet. This was one of the best brunches I've ever had. My friend and I ordered a couple of dishes and drinks where all served was very tasteful. The quinoa halloumi buddha bowl was very light yet filling. The mac n cheese croquetones were different with some sort of sauce and pink peppercorns, these were a bit heavy but that's how you know these babies are served right. The three mezze plate was very tasty, the feta and hummus was delicious, I did not care too much for the guacamole but served with the olive bread it was very good! I ordered the mango banana orange smoothie which hit the spot. The chai tea was not chai tea, or was more like milk with dinne spices, this was the disappointing part of the meal but rest of the food made up for it. As far as service goes, it was friendly. We were told to wait for a table and instead of standing a waitress showed us to a large table where we can sit and wait, another waiter showed up and was going to take our order but we let him know we're were just waiting and he was resisting to accept that until the waitresss stepped it in - found this a little irritating. I'd like to have a place like this near home!
We miss Barcelona, being able to walk right down the street for an amazing lunch at Alsur. These pumpkin spice pancakes were so fluffy and creamy From smoothie bowls to cronut egg sandwiches and cocktails, they've nailed the brunch game. Delicious! The food is so yummy here. Good portions and decent prices. I had the avocado waffle with fruit parfait. Hit the spot. They didn't skimp on the avocado which was more like guacamole. We also had the chicken and waffle which was really good too. We started with a smoothie but I've forgotten what it's called. Definitely recommend
Menu has a good combination of Spanish and Latin inspired brunch items. Avocado toast and carnitas mango skillet was excellent. Location is a few block off the main tourist area of Las Ramblas so it makes for a relaxing brunch spot. Ample indoor seating and small outdoor seating available. Friendly staff. read more
Our international flight arrived to Barcelona (BCN) this morning so we were hungry for dinner. This place was near our IHG Hotel Indigo. This was our first time visiting Barcelona and this restaurant with our friends for dinner. We passed by and liked the posted menu in English. The place was packed with patrons for dinner, therefore we assumed this was a good local place for us to stop for dinner. Despite that the place was packed with customers we scored a table for four in the rear of the restaurant. I started with and enjoyed my portal (blanco Joven), which is a dry garnacha blanca 90% sauvignon Blanc and Viognier for 4 Euros. I enjoyed my patatas pulled pork bravas potatoes with carnitas, poutine sauce and chilli sour cream for 12 Euros. My friend also enjoyed his patatas pulled pork bravas potatoes. We all enjoyed our tapas. I also ended my dinner with a Cerv Jarra cervezas draft beer for 4.90 Euros. My friend also enjoyed the same cervezas draft beer. My total bill for the four of us was 81.30 Euros or USA $94.44 based on the current exchange rate. Our server Contado, who also spoke English, served us very well. After we visited I found one other nearby Alsur Cafes, which may or may not be affiliated with this Alsur Cafe restaurant. We agreed we will return here again. We had a fantastic breakfast here today and are tempted to go back again because the menu looked so good. The place itself is beautifully decorated and the staff very friendly. From the coffee to the Eggs Benedict with Serrano Ham to the Waffle Sandwich with Cheese, Avocado, and Bacon, the meal was delicious. The bill came to around $24 US. read more

I came here for brunch with my boyfriend and we both loved our meal here. The coffee drinks we got - the vanilla marshmallow latte & iced marshmallow chocolate were very good! We waited a pretty long time for our food, but ultimately it was pretty worth the wait. I enjoyed the waffle grilled cheese, it was really good. He got the double meat burger which came on a churro donut type of bun, super unique and a cool idea. Definitely a cool spot for some really different, visually appealing and tasty food. I would definitely recommend this spot to others, as it was also recommended to me by a friend. read more

3.5 stars for a cute cafe with frustrating issues. Alsur Cafe was literally right next to the hotel I stayed at in Barcelona (Icon BCN by Petit Palace) and also came up as highly recommended on Yelp, so I figured I should try it out. I have quite mixed feelings about this place. The good: there was no wait time to be seated both times when I visited, once for lunch at around 11:30am and another time during the morning at 8:35am for breakfast. The food is beautifully presented, and there are great vegetarian options on the menu, which is always a bonus in Spain. In addition, all of the drinks were made in a timely manner and tasted delicious! My matcha latte was a little small given the price, but I enjoyed it a lot. The marshmallow vanilla latte that I got during breakfast a few days later was also quite good for my sweet tooth. I ordered the epic arepa for lunch, and I found it extremely satisfying and tasty. The chicken and the avocado balanced to create a great "sandwich," and the "buns" made of beets were unlike anything I had tasted before. For breakfast a couple days later, I got the avocado toast with an egg. I tend to enjoy avocado toast in general, so this was also a pretty good dish for me, if a little overpriced. Now onto the bad: first of all, the wait is excruciating at peak times. For lunch, it took thirty minutes for us to receive our food. For breakfast, since we were literally the second group to order since opening, we received our food in a timely manner (10-15 minutes). The service is not particularly good nor bad; it's just slow. Some of the food is also presented in a way that's visually pleasing but not necessarily the best for actual consumption, which I also disliked. Also note that some items are on the smaller side and others can probably feed two people. In particular, the vegetarian options seem to be huge--my mother got the berry bowl for breakfast, and it could have easily fed two people, whereas the chicken I got for lunch left me a little hungry. In addition, my mother ordered avocado toast for lunch and received a much smaller piece of bread compared to what I got for breakfast, so the size seems to be inconsistent at times. read more

Funky finds: -cottage cheese pancakes -carrot cake pancakes -Oreo waffles -chicken and waffles -waffle, bacon, avocado sandwich -alcoholic milkshakes Favorite finds: -a good Caesar salad with chicken (not easy to find in Spain!) -grilled salmon and potatoes (also impossible to find in Spain) -Barcelona beer - malty & yummy -banana bread w/a creamy mound of icing The service was very slow when I was there, but the cook came over and gave me a 10% discount and apologized, so that was kind. Read the reviews for this place and it seemed like a must try. I must have not gotten the right dish because i was not satisfied or impressed at all. My friend got the kamikaze dish and we all loved that but my poached egg with a bagel was not good at all. No seasoning at all and service was so so slow that I thought the waitress forgot about us. I think this place is cute but over rated. read more

It was Sunday Morning and we got there at around 11 am . The ambiance was good . There were background music, a little too loud for me . I ordered the Hummus veggie bowl and a coffee . The bowl was so good and delicious . I loved it . I may come back and tried more different food . read more

We had some great food here. Very unhealthy if you ask but amazing taste. It's a small place but they have indoor and outdoor seats. Nice selection of drinks including fresh squeezed orange juice. read more

Love this place for brunch. I've visited this cafe 3+ times since its very closed to my hotel. I would recommend their smashed egg with potato and ham. The homemade red velvet cake is hard to forget. I can finish the whole slice since it's not that sugary. Staffs here are friendly, and they have English menu. Thumb up for alsur café read more

Came here for a breakfast before leaving Barcelona and overall we had a really lovely meal for decent prices. ~ Atmosphere: It's a lovely little breakfast cafe with plenty of relaxing seating both inside and outside. ~ Customer Service: Service was prompt and friendly. Food came out at respectable times - not complaints at all! ~ Food: I ordered the Eggs Benedict which came with the traditional poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, but with a twist. It came with spinach and Iberico ham, but instead of a traditional English muffin they used a crusty cornbread. The result? A very delicious breakfast! Why can't all Eggs Benedict come with jamon Iberico?! The eggs were perfectly poached as well and the cornbread perfectly complimented the meal. We also ordered Patatas Bravas on the side without mushrooms to share. I wouldn't recommend this dish which is why this place gets 4 instead of 5 stars. The potatoes were way too overcooked and became tough to chew. Couldn't even get a fork through them! Maybe it was just a mistake and not intentional, but I wouldn't try it again. Not worth it. --- Overall a great little breakfast place. I highly recommend it for a great brunch. The menu had a great variety as well so there's bound to be something you'd like! read more

This place is great! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Happy to help this American who speaks muy poquito Español. Good food, reasonable prices, large selection of items on the menu, and fresh juices, coffee drinks, and cocktails. We will definitely be back to try something from the all day brunch options. I must know what their take on a bloody mary is like! One word of warning, they aren't kidding about the pizza burger being MEGA. read more

Such a cute cafe. Music playing, decor is hip, service is awesome and seating against the windows with sofas all against the walls. Veg spacious restaurant. Had delicious coffee and brunch. Couldn't ask for more. The chicken and waffles came out fresh. Waffle had a nice crunch to it. Chicken came out hot and the sauce was perfect!!! Such a gem read more
Alsur Cafe is a nice spot to come in for breakfast/brunch and enjoy a nice quality meal. My wife had the chicken and waffles. I tried them and wasn't all that amazed with the chicken. I went with a more sweeter selection with turned out pretty good. The inside decor is really nice and has a cozy warm welcoming vibe. There are many choices on the menu and I would definitely give Alsur another try. read more
