Its rustic on the outside but it is packed with everything you may need! I bought a big bag of potting soil for my girlfriends garden as a thank you for inviting me over for a BBQ ( she mentioned she needed more so it will be a nice surprise!). Btw. It's one Block past Granzellas on Seventh Street.

I came in just a few days ago and was greeted by a younger kid who was at the front register. He was with a customer but still greeted us properly and gave a smile which is a plus. Once I reached the firearm counter, I was ignored until I sat by their front desk for an employee who seemed like he didn't want to do anything except sit around to call another one to help. I'm extremely disappointed with their firearm staff. I work at another FFL and had to run in for some last minute ammo that I had forgotten to purchase for a range day. My address on my ID does not match my current address, which is fine with DROS. You can type in the address to put in the correct one to get approved. These guys will not work with anything unless you bring them a proof of residency for ammo which is ridiculous. As a COE holder and FSC instructor, there was absolutely no courtesy shown for what was happening. I constantly hear issues with how arrogant and rude the staff is that works there and it's sad to say that I can confirm that everything I have heard is true. I'll make sure to avoid this place and take the extra 5 minutes to drive to Sportsman's (which is already a nightmare itself) for any last minute ammo purchases. Extremely disappointed with this store and its staff.

As it's been in the past, I can again describe the Dixon Ace store as "twice the store and half the…read morestuff" (referring to the other two nearby Ace stores). Today I went to the Dixon store for two small hardware items. I spent considerable time in front of rows of small drawers, as did another customer, searching for one of my items. I think the other customer finally became frustrated and left the store after pacing back and forth looking for something for many minutes. We caught glimpses of store employees at the end of the aisle, but they never seemed to notice us . . . or care that we might need help. I finally found one of my items without help, but I had not seen the other one (Pop Rivets) during my time there . . . so I tracked down an employee and asked. The employee apparently hadn't heard of a pop rivet, so he called to learn where they were. When we finally arrived there, the selection was very sparse with only aluminum pop rivets available in any quantity less than 100. I resigned myself to traveling west on I-80 to the next Ace store where, no surprise, they had a better selection of pop rivets. If it weren't for the extra distance, I would always opt for "half the store with twice the stuff". Most days parking is a real problem at the Vacaville store . . . for good reason.

Not my typical place to review, as I am no handyman or gardener…read more However, on every visit the past 18 years, the staff has always been extremely helpful. The store is also wonderfully stocked and maintained. I recently decided to try to attract some hummingbirds into my yard and figured a nice hanging plant should do the trick. With my limited knowledge of such things, I immediately asked for some assistance and recommendations. I was referred to Ava, who was just an absolute delight. She was genuinely excited about my pursuit and immediately gave me many options. With her help, I was able to choose a beautiful calibrachoa. She was nice enough to trim it up a bit for me, while also offering recommendations on care and watering. I tend to like to highlight when I receive service that I believe goes above and beyond my normal expectations. This was one of those occasions. Ava is knowledgeable and just has a radiant personality. A true asset to the staff at Ace.

Gio was so kind and helped me find the exact part I needed. He even carried the basket for me while I was holding my infant. Great experience! Thank you Gio for being so helpful and considerate to help a working dad get the stuff we needed. They even have HOTWHEELS and I picked out two so we can race cars when we get home. Need parts? Take a picture and walk into this store- Gio and others will help you. Highly recommend A+++
