This place is run by a bunch of let's say individuals that couldn't get past the sixth grade. They took over 20 minutes to get my car out of impound and the guy. The front desk is so distracted by his slowness that it only compounded the situation. To top it off when I drove out with the vehicle, they neglected to tell me my key was in the windshield wiper, and as I was leaving, I put my windshield wiper on not knowing the key was there. So where can you start, OH Yes, an employee named Gary offered jail to a person that had just been stolen of his 4 tires and had no idea how to drag the car back to where his car was stolen from. You call to notify the supervisor that they have an employee impersonating a police officer by offering jail to an elderly person in distraught and he told me I had hit the dead end , that he was the last person in the chain of command and that I could do whatever everyone else do, vent it out on Yelp that it was more than fine I did that. My vehicle was towed here after being found close by weeks after being stolen. I was afraid to go there after reading all the horrible reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised and that they were actually the most professional people I've ever ever met! They were all Very nice, very cordial and very organized. It's actually an official LAPD police garage by the way and they wore uniforms. So, I'm not sure why all the bad reviews. I was in a wrecked this past Saturday. I got rear ended and my car was totaled. I was taken to the hospital that same morning and had no idea where my car was taken. 3 days later after I was released from the hospital, I got a notice that my car was at this impound yard. I had already spoken with my insurance and they recommended to surrender the car to the impound but to take pictures of the car. The car was completely totaled. So I called them up and this employee name Maria had the worst attitude. As I was explaining my situation, she put me on hold as I was speaking. Called her back and she said she was busy so she transferred me to another employee. As I got there, the same employee Maria assisted me with the same attitude. Before I surrender the car to Als, I asked if it was ok to take out my personal belongings. She said yes but I wasn't able to take anything else. Again it was still my car. I had just installed an amplifier which I was not allowed to take. They said anything attached to the car, I cannot take. Oh and my battery was missing! Why is my battery missing??? I believe they steal batteries and sell them. I've read so many reviews about missing batteries. I ended up paying $300 to surrender my car and I couldn't take off my amplifier. Worse place to have your car impounded by horrible experience all around the worse part they fo not care a single cent about your property; not only was I missing my car cover but they completely ruined my suspension I had just repair on my classic 77 celica I am restoring, (took me a whole 6 months to find parts) , when I asked to speak to the manager Jose at the window right away stated my car came in that way and no manager was onsite. Life for people that arrive to this impound yard has taken a toll one way or another for the worse at least for that moment having the most valuable item removed from them. one of the worst companies I have encountered. Their driver just parked in the middle of a very busy street blocking the road while there is no car around for them to tow. Asked the driver why you parked there when I am passing by and the driver flip me off and say can't you see the light flashing? Wasn't even allowed to look at my car do to some issues with title. Felt like car was first stolen illegally and then stolen legally by these people. idk where to start. this towing company have very bad employees. on February 29th 2024 I got myself a brand new truck zero miles on it. march the 10th Sunday around 12 noon. I was going west bond Florence and flower. mind you theirs always traffic because theirs and exit and entrance to the 110 south/north. I was on the middle lane and the guy driving the towing truck was on the left (korie) he saw that his lane was full and this guy (korie) did a bad choice of instead of waiting he went into my lane and hit me on my left driver side. thank god I reacted quick and moved to the last right lane. the towing guy didn't stop, I was honking at him and I fallowed him until he stop at Florence and main. I asked him aren't you going to stop and he asked me why and I said you just hit me. when I said that he parked I did as well. this korie guy was so rude and saying bad words to me calling me a bitch while my kids are being in fort of us. my 15 year old told him have more respect to his mom. Koies answer was fuck that bitch what are going to do about it. the insurance til this day has not gave me an answer. I have a question to this towing company is it legal smoking weed and driving towing trucks ? I took in the person who got the tickets and they refused to credit or refund. They also charge high towing fees to oppress even further. They suck butt! My car was stolen and as if that wasn't bad enough I had to deal with these guys. They call and tell me that they have my car, but not one person working there could tell me the condition of the car. In fact, they told me that before I could even see the car myself I would have to drive down there with my driver's license and title. Then, they would tell me witch location my car was at because it could be downtown or it could be in Lynwood. If my car was in Lynwood, I could not go directly there, I still had to show my documentation to the people at the downtown location. WTF??? So, I had no idea what condition my car was in. I had reported it stolen 10 days before. I figured it was stripped and that schlepping down there and possibly to Lynwood, would be a waste of my time. This place is really fishy! A couple days ago they found my husband's truck and was taken here to Al's towing. When the police called my husband to let them know that they found the truck and he had to go pick it up first question was is it running and the police said yes! It turns on! When we got there to als towing it wasn't turning on so we noticed that the battery was missing! It's very fishy because the LAPD said it was turning on!. A few years ago my dad's car got stolen same story! They found his car LAPD called him told him they found it my dad's first question was is it running they said yes when they got to the towing company the battery was missing what a coincidence! My vehicle was stolen and taken here on behalf of LAPD. They're supposed to let you know right away that the vehicle is located. However in my case neither Al's nor LAPD let me know until 7 fays later, by then the towing and storage fees were preety substantial. I also suspect that these people stole my batteries, my truck is a diesel model very similar to their towtrucks, I had 2 brand new batteries. If some thief on the street had stolen that, they wouldn't have replaced them with some low quality new battery. (they would've just took the batteries and ran.) my truck came back with no stereo no tools etc. very understandable after being stolen. It also came back with a rather recent battery but with lower quality and just enough power to move my vehicle, just seems fishy.while I'm ok paying the towing fees, I will fight the storage charges. Why are we responsible for paying tow and storage fees to get back a stolen vehicle. While this is a privately owned company they are also an "official police tow" I'd say they're benefiting from city funding so there should be no reason to charge fees on recouping stolen property it SHOULD BE THEIR JOB. read more

I hope no one EVER has to deal with this place. Our truck was stolen & we live in Tulare Co. It was towed here once it was located. Trying to get the truck released to our insurance company was like having the truck stolen twice. These people held it hostage for days. It's obvious how they are making their money, the longer it sits the more you have to pay to get it out. There was important paperwork in my sons truck...they refused to mail it to us even when we offered a self addressed stamped envelope. It's bad enough we had to deal with our vehicle being stolen, these people are the worst. Hate this place with a passion. My car was towed here sense I was driving with a suspended license. (My fault of course) I was really upset when I called this place to have the guy that answer give me a hard time. I was really furious when he started to speak to me about the modification I had done on my car. That was a very unsettling feeling to have so one speak to me like that. They gave me a hard time when I went to see my car to pick up a few things a needed and demanded so many documents from me to even see my car, when all the documents they were asking for were in the glove compartment. When car was on a 30 day hold I went to pick it up on the 27th day. I checked the car in and out very throughly before I gave them any type of payment, while my father waited in the lobby for me. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY PASSED ME OFF ROYALY. They assumed my father didn't speak any English. The front desk attendant even asked my father if he spoke english. He said no I don't understand, then the front desk attendant my a fine called and spoke to someone saying hay the guy came for the car I'm not going to be able to sale it to you for the 5 grand. Once she got off the telephone my father spoke to her in English and said " I do speak English and you guys thieves, how the he'll are you gonna have a buyer for my son's car if it hasn't even been 30 days yet". She was in shock and had nothing to say. Funny thing is the first time I went to see my car on the 3rd day it was there it was in the front. When I went on the 27th day to pick it up it was hidden all the way in the far back where no one could see it. I had a bad feeling about this place the first time I called and it's a hell hole and the people that work there belong there. If I could give this place no stars I would.
