What happened to this place...the ice isn't shaved and they're stingy with the syrup. Last time I'll be coming here.

Came through today to get my seasonal watermelon snowcone. It cost $5 for a large but they didn't ask for a tip on the machine or anything, which honestly I wouldn't have minded tipping on but I just mention it because I know the tipping fatigue is a thing. Anyway my snowcone was super tasty and they gave me a flat top (maybe cause they saw I was the only one in the car and driving- which I was appreciative of). Had plenty of syrup and that handed it over very quickly after I placed my order. Watermelon isn't on their menu posted outside but they still carry it. This has definitely become my go to snowcone place living in the midcities. read more

Love Al's! It's our go to snow cone stand. They never skimp on syrup and great for hot TX summer evenings! The strawberry shortcake is fantastic, so is the wedding cake, ninja turtle.... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SNOW-CONE SHOP!! Me and my family have been coming here for YEARS and every time we come we are always so pleased with the experience, the workers are always so kind and do everything perfect all the time! The atmosphere is amazing and me as well as my family will continue coming here for years. In fact, we love this place so much we always get so sad when they close for winter so we were so excited to hear that they were going to be open for winter this year!! This place is an absolute joke!! It's a snowcone place yet they're stingy with the ice?. It's more like a slush than a snowcone. Paid 7.25 for 2 measly wannabe "snowcones" that were so distasteful we trashed them.. do yourself a favor and drive far pass this place.. this place don't even deserve one star read more

This location is NOT CLOSED. They are a seasonal business... This snocone stand is super close...too close! LOL All of the employees are amazingly friendly and helpful. I have had many flavors but always go back to my favorite (blue bubblegum, cotton candy, poison ivy) if you like sour, Poison Ivy is a great flavor. The wait is not very long but they do get busy and the space for parking/waiting in line is limited so be prepared :) The only thing I would love to see from this business is new flavors and maybe weekly special flavors. read more

I love Al's!! It's just a skip away from my apartment and they have a drive thru...no seriously they do, lazy people can I get an amen? Lol Secondly, and most importantly...they have dill pickle snow cones. No, not pickle flavoring...actual pickle juice like from the jar. I'm so very grateful that this was thought of and executed..because my semi frequent pickle cravings can now be satisfied in the form of a snow cone :) Yes I've tried other flavors from the sugar free selections (they actually taste REALLY good and have like less than 10 calories) I really like raspberry/cherry/or strawberry mixed with vanilla or lime. Any variety of those combos haven't disappointed yet. Tigers blood is also a delicious selection if ur not in the mood to be creative ;) haven't tried any of the regular sugary flavors, though I'm sure they are wonderful!! I prefer to spare my waist of the empty calories. Prices? Cheap. Less than $2 anytime I've gone and the "small" cups are a good size. Plus it would be hard to clear a large before it melted. First time buying a snowcone here. The top mound of ice tastes great, plenty of syrup and flavor. Just past that mound is nothing but slightly flavored shaved ice. About halfway down there is no syrup. $3.10 plus .90 tip makes for a very expensive cup of ice. Certainly not interested in coming back. read more

A-ok! Al's Snowballs has the classic flavors and offers a good way to cool off. Its located on the west side of Bedford, further away from its competitors across town, so its often times really busy! Their ice always seems choppy and a little un-smooth to me. And until recently their young staff haven't always been the friendliest. I'm happy to report though, that my last visit (two days ago!) the employees were very friendly, swift and polite! Its a good go-to when you're sweltering from the Texas summer sun. read more

Al's Snowball has been around for at least 25 years and I know this for a fact because when I was in Junior High my younger sister sneaked out my moped and took our younger sister here and had wreck on the way back and we all had to lie to our parents and say she was just driving around the neighborhood. Anyhoo, Al's Snowball has been a favorite of our family for many years. The other day my sisters and I were talking about our very fond memories here - our dear Daddy who recently had a stroke loved this place and would frequently come home bearing everyone's favorite flavor. I cannot even express properly in words my love for Al's Snowball. I have been going here for over ten years and nothing makes me happier than knowing that Al's is open for the season. They do the best ice - its shaved super fine - and use some of the best syrup I've encountered. Thanks to Al's I'm a huge snoball/snocone snob and if the ice looks too big or the syrup tastes off I am instantly heartbroken and wishing I were in Bedford so I could just stop by Al's and get what I really want. They have a full menu and their creative flavors are some of the best ones. Ninja Turtles, Batman (which will leave your mouth pitch black), Nerds or my go to order - Carmel Apple where they layer real Carmel and green apple syrup in your snocone. Nothing is better to me than that. When I lived in California I would frequently comment on facebook on how I would do anything for an Al's Snowball and end up flooded with messages from people I grew up with and how much they love/miss/crave Al's as well now that we've scattered across the country. I make it a point to stop by as often as I can when I'm in town and Al's is open. Can't wait to go this year! read more

This place is definitely a great way to beat the TX summer heat! I have only tried 2 flavors so far but I do recommend the dreamsicle. They have sugar free ones too if that is your thing! They are juicy and the ice is shaved pretty fine which makes for the perfect snow cone. If you're feeling adventurous go for the pickle juice! I know that sounds strange but live a little. I've been going here since I moved to Bedford and hadn't experienced any bad customer until tonight. The young lady never greeted us and when I handed her the money, a quarter dropped from her hand and she just stared at me as if I did it. But I didn't say anything, I handed her another quarter and she walked away. She then returned with the snowballs which normally have soft ice, but this time the ice was hard and sharp. So I pulled up and sent the products back. She said she could not refund. I then decided to go and speak with her myself. She was helping another customer so I sat on the patio and when I saw she was done, I went to the window. She then walked off and never returned. I tapped the window and about 3 minutes later she walks up. Very monotone and impolite she asked, "can I help you?" I then asked, "when will the owner or supervisor be in?" She said with a smirk, I don't know. She explained that she told my daughter about her not refunding and I said I understood that policy. As I was about to suggest that maybe next time she give a heads up about the ice, she cut me off and said well what I can just give you another sno cone with an attitude. She then went on to say, that I held her line up when I fact I was pulled all the way up to the road and when the gentleman blew the horn I moved up again. I asked her name and she laughed and said, no I'm not giving you that and started closing the window on me. I said hello, she shrugged her shoulders, closed the window in my face, and walked away. If you want a good Snowcone in Bedford, go to Bedford Snowballs on Pipeline near Central. I went to Al's tonight, only because I know that at 7:30 Bedford Balls would have a line 10 people deep. And why? Because it's extremely worth the wait. Al's is ok. The ice is really Flaky ice, not smooth snow. Like you can crunchy it between your teeth. There aren't THAT many flavors for a snowcone stand. They have weird prices, like $2.10 instead of just $2. And they charge taxes. It's not a big deal, but I've never had that with a snow cone. It's *just* a snow cone. Nothing remotely special about it. Nice people though, good service. No line. Like ever. For anyone who gives this place 5 stars, I feel like you clearly have never been to Bedford Snowball. Sincerely, the pregnant lady who is serious about her snowcones. read more

The snowballs are pretty decent! Cash only though! A lot of different options the ice is not always super smooth could use some improvement but overall still tasty! what an AWFUL experience! to start, I walk up to two people smoking sitting in front of the stand..only to find out that they were the people that were going to be making our snow cones. I figured they'd wash their hands..but no. GROSS. & then when they begin to ring up TWO SMALL snow cones and the young man at the register tells me the total is over $6 I'm thinking "huh?!" It's convenient due to proximity to where I live. They can never get my order right. Meaning they do not know what "light on the juice" means. Light juice means 1/2 the bottle to them. When you order cream, you get a slight dribble. I get it, it's just a sno cone, but I don't what a cup full of syrup. read more

First time ever. I was looking for ice cream but didn't want a chain so I found this place via Google. It's in a residential area and looks quaint. Long line for the drive through and had to wait about 30 mins to get to window. I wanted a milkshake. They don't do that. Then asked for two scoops on a cake cone. They serve the ice cream in styrofoam cups only. Rock hard. Their freezer is too cold and it's hard to scoop you're ice cream with the plastic spoon. The ic is average. An ok place. read more
