I've seen this place, and hear some positive feedback from a couple people so it was my turn to try it out! This place is great, they're definitely a hit different that your other coffee places so the Black Sheep name isn't just that, which I appreciate! They do things a bit differently, like actually using crumbled pistachios on their lattes or even using a chocolate whipped cream.... That's legit! My sister got a triple chocolate frappe and it was solid! I got the Spanish latte (half sweet) I heard it was sweet, but I would probably do the normal way with and extra shot and be happy! Anyway, they way were nice, happy to answer questions after we told them we had never been there before. We didn't try any pastries or the waffles that looked absolutely fantastic! We came here for breakfast. I had an acai bowl and a cappuccino, my husband had a cold brew latte and a breakfast sandwich. His sandwich was a very microwave Starbucks type of sandwich. I get it, this is not a place that makes things from scratch, but it wasn't anything great, wasn't anything to lose your mind over. He was very happy with his coffee though, enjoyed it for the majority of the day. He had dairy so I couldn't try it, but happy husband happy life. I had the acai bowl. It was fine. When I ordered raspberries I didn't know they were going to be frozen. I thought they were fresh. They weren't. The coconut yogurt on top seemed frozen as well, it had that weird frozen texture. They did slice some bananas in there. The only other thing was the plastic spoon they gave me. An acai bowl is dense and the spoon was bending trying to get through it. Not ideal. Coffee was actually great. We both genuinely enjoyed ours. I asked for a ceramic cup and got a paper cup instead, which I wasn't happy about because cardboard does tint the flavor. I asked for ceramic for a reason. Even with that, the coffee was still decently good, which says something. Cute place to sit. Comfortable seats, quiet atmosphere, plenty of parking around. No issues, nothing glaring. You can order from the menu without interacting with anyone, which we did, but a lady still came over to check if we needed anything, so they were accommodating too. My one aesthetic complaint is the plastic plants. As an establishment they can do better. Real plants exist. Overall I would come back. Probably not my first choice but we would return. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not, the stars reflect that. read more

I came here to meet my friend and was quickly greeted. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, including the staff and spacious interior. There are plenty of places to park and their menu is extensive. The prices are on par with other coffee shops in the area. I ordered their chai tea (medium) and their chocolate croissant. My drink and dessert order came out quickly. Efficient ordering with the kiosk, although it takes away somewhat from the personal touch that you like to see in a coffeehouse. They had a lot of interesting drink options; I went with my old standby, the chai latte, and added cinnamon which was a nice touch. Drink was hot and fresh and the counter staff very nice. Stopped by Black Sheep Coffee as we were looking for an afternoon coffee shop and something cold to drink. We were not disappointed by our experience here. When you arrive there is plenty of parking outside of the coffee shop. After walking in you'll have the option to either order from the self service kiosks or at the counter. Also, the vibes are on point and what a cool conversion from what used to be an old Wendy's. I ordered the Strawberries & Cream Matcha Latte which was perfect. The matcha flavor wasn't overly powering and there was a nice balance of the strawberry flavor. I also ordered a Norwegian classic Norwegian waffle with the Norwegian Brunost Cheese and jam. The waffle was a bit cold but it had nice flavor. Lastly, I really enjoyed the vibes of the coffee shop and the artwork on the walls. Definitely will be back if I'm in the area read more

Black Sheep has entered the DFW coffee scene in a great spot. Near several schools and right off the highway on Hall Johnson. They have 4 kiosks for ordering, but also I noticed a register for those who still want to order at the counter. As well they have a drive thru option. Sitting inside while waiting for my kids class to wrap up, it had a calm welcoming vibe! Great for the folks in groups to catch up, but the sounds not bouncing off each other to make it to hard to focus on working if that's what you need to do. I liked the latte well enough but am looking forward to coming back for the waffles and smoothies next time. read more

Black Sheep is a newly opened coffee shop in my neck of the woods, so I was excited to check it out. I was especially excited to see Norwegian style waffles made the exact same way I had in Norway. The waffles themselves were pretty spot on to how I remembered them. Unfortunately, the coffee left much to be desired, which isn't ideal when the spot has "coffee" in the name. However, my spouse got the matcha, and I will say that's likely where they excel. If I come back, I will stick to the matcha and waffles. This place is awesome!!! I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt like I had to with Black Sheep Coffee. I've driven by this place for months since it's been open and unfortunately never made time to stop and what a shame because I could've been enjoying Black Sheep Coffee so much sooner. So if you find yourself driving by 121 and Hall Johnson, it's worth the stop. If you've never had a Norwegian waffle you don't know what you're missing out on, and the staff is amazing. I went to order a classic waffle, and the young lady working the counter recommended the Biscoff waffle. And since I fly American Airlines, I do love a good Biscoff cookie and this one did not disappoint. The waffle has the perfect compliments of soft internal waffle with crispy edges for a good crunch. I did get the iced frappe as well and nothing aggravates me more than chunks of ice when I get them from other coffee shops that seem to be on every corner. That's not the case here it was perfectly blended all the way to the bottom and they put little Biscoff cookie crumbles on top. It was an excellent touch. You order at the kiosk and pick up order wheb call your name. I got the waffle (strawberry and nutlella). It was crispy with good anount of nutella and fresh strawberry. Also go a 12 oz mocha. The latte arte is nice as well and served in a ceramic mug. The space is wood meets industrial. The wood table and chairs. Fresh greenery would have been better Instead or artificial plants. We thought the coffee was really good. I won't go so far as to say that we are coffee snobs, but we really like coffee and we drink a lot of it. We are not into sweet or particularly fancy coffee drinks. We generally avoid ordering drip coffee out because frankly, it usually sucks. Even good coffee shops often fail to execute a good drip coffee. It's just never fresh, I guess. For that reason, I ordered a flat white at Black Sheep and it was very strong and very delicious. I wish I was sipping on another one right now as I type this. The seating was great. Definitely designed with the intention for people to come stay awhile. I do not care for all the ordering screens as you enter the coffee shop. It's like they can't decide if they want to be a sophisticated coffeehouse or McDonalds. We opted to order at the front, from an employee, but it seems as though perhaps it had been some time since the employee had to actually interact with a person. Certain customer service skills were lacking. Do you like good coffee and appreciate every opportunity to avoid interacting with other people? Then you'll love Black Sheep Coffee. We went through the drive thru so I cannot comment on any of the inside features. I got an iced vanilla oat milk latte, my husband got the iced lavender matcha and we split a banoffee waffle. Coffee and matcha were good but OMG that waffle! To die for! It is fantastic, and to my knowledge there's not anywhere else around here that has anything similar. WOWZA! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Service was quick, and everyone had a great attitude. The atmosphere is super cool and inviting with some totally awesome murals --perfect for getting some work done or just hanging out with friends. The vibe inside is warm and comfortable without being too loud or crowded and they have plenty of seating for you and your friends. One of the best features: there are outlets at every table, which is a total game changer if you're working remotely or need to charge your devices while you hang out. There are tons of great options on the menu, so whether you're just grabbing a coffee or want something more filling, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend the waffles with Nutella--absolutely delicious! Easily one of the best treats I've had with my coffee in a long time. The location is super convenient, right off Hall-Johnson Rd and 121, which makes it easy to stop by whether you're local or just passing through. I like iced or blended drinks, so ordered a coffee frappe no whip to get a sense of their flavor. Was a well balanced blended drink with good strong coffee flavor, but it had a very odd aftertaste, almost chemical. I ordered at counter since it was my first time and I had questions, the quickly flipping electronic sign made it tedious to see the drink list I was interested in. The customer behind me was told by staff to go use a kiosk if he wasn't needing to use cash, a little off-putting since there were no other customers but us. Interior is not the cozy type, but is a stylish modern makeover of the Wendy's there before it. This place is awesome. Seats are super comfy. Wifi is super fast. They gave me a free drink which was cool. The other coffee places around here are too busy and crowded. Black Sheep Coffee was not too crowded and, again, the seats are just too comfy. They should call it the comfy sheep lol. read more

This has become my husband and 9 year old granddaughters "go to" on Sunday morning. She loves the waffle sandwiches. They both love Matcha and Latte's. They say the service is great and love the interior decor. I haven't been with them because I had major back surgery in February. They brought me back the blended Chocolate Dream once and although I love chocolate this was way over the top chocolate. 25% less would be better for me. Not sure they take special orders or not.
