He clearly explained everything, answered all my questions, and we even had a great conversation like two regular guys. It's always refreshing to meet someone who's both knowledgeable and personable. Michael, the technician who replaced the windshield, did a superb job. He was careful, thorough, and professional, taking the time to explain his work and ensure everything was done perfectly. I thought I only needed a chip repair- but by the time I got to work, that chip stretched to a 5" crack. And by the weekend, that shit stretched way more. The good thing was that hubs immediately plugged in all the necessary deets on crack size and the location of it right from his phone using our car insurance app to book my appointment at no cost to us to get my glass replaced. The bad thing was, I'd had to wait til Monday afterwork to get my windshield fixed. I was really hoping for one of their mobile technicians to come to where I was parked by my job- but somehow, that wasn't available. Not far from The Container Store in White Plains, this Safelite came to the rescue just right. I confirmed my appointment at the "office" then spoke to one of the technicians who filled me in on how much time it'll take to replace the windshield. With a fleet of a few technicians, they made sure my car was taken care and I'd pick up my car in like 2-3 hours because of the "EyeSight" feature in my car that added extra time. When everything was said and done, I picked up my ride a little over an hour. Perfect. So aside from all the Debbie Downers here, Randy and his team were totally respectful and so friendly. Completely wasted my time. Set up appointment online for vent glass on my car. When they showed up the first time, they didn't have the correct glass, so they said someone would be in contact with me to set up a new appointment. Well no one called me and I had to call them. Set up another appointment for the following week, only for them to reach out to me to tell me, they didn't have the part yet and that they were trying to get in touch with Volkswagen, and they would get in touch with me either way, once they figured out what they were going to do. It took me calling them several hours later, as I'm wasting my day, waiting for them to find out they weren't coming.. They rescheduled a different date without my confirmation.And when I called to change the time to the morning, they had no availability. My window has been broken for several weeks now.All because they are incompetent and are horrible at communication with zero sense of urgency for a broken glass.
