If you care about the value of your vehicle, you better not bring it here! I accidentally damaged…read morethe side of my father's truck when I made a turn too tight and rubbed a pole which was sticking out too far onto the street, scraping the bedside. I chose them because I mistakenly believed they were the best. Before I even discuss the lousy quality of work they did, we spoke to them beforehand and they promised discretion if we paid cash out of pocket, no insurance involvement, and we were clear on that, so we paid cash in full. Fast forward a few years later, my father wants a new truck, so he goes to the dealership and they say there's an accident on record. We were wondering how that's possible, so they show us the Carfax and there it is, the damage Classic Auto "fixed". After saying it would be repaired with discretion, they turn around and stab us in the back, greatly devaluing the truck. I don't understand how anyone can trust a business that so blatantly lies and causes further issues with their customers. Why would anyone bring their vehicle here knowing that you're going to turn around and report even the slightest bit of damage to insurance and devalue their vehicle??? To lie and stab a customer in the back like that is disgusting and unprofessional. On top of that, the work was subpar! The paint was not a great match, one was clearly able to see the difference in the bed of the truck as opposed to the cab, especially in the sun. I've seen work from other shops where the paint was such a good match, you couldn't tell the difference from the repaired panel to the original panel right next to it. For the money I paid, I expected much better. I could have brought it just about anywhere else and paid less, elsewhere probably would have done a better job too, and they wouldn't have turned around and reported it to the insurance company when it was agreed they wouldn't. This is a dirty, deceitful shop, anybody would be a fool to bring their vehicle here. I only wish I knew how bad this place was ahead of time. Future customers, you are warned, if you want lousy mismatched paintwork, come to Classic Auto! Good luck trying to get decent resale value for your vehicle when you try to sell it or trade it in, because no matter what Classic Auto tells you or how you pay, they'll make sure insurance knows and your vehicle history will be ruined.

When we brought it in, we were told they would only do the work for the higher amount and that the estimate was "just to tell you how much it would cost to have it done...not that we would do it." No matter they knew what we wanted when we made the appointment. The shop manager was "unavailable" and I could not get a refund on my $40. Full disclosure: the aforementioned fairies may have used dark magic for their chicanery, as the offending forms--a safety bollard and a tall curb--mysteriously appeared just seconds before making contact with my car. Enter Colors on Parade: a self-described "body shop on wheels" that works mainly with auto dealers but is also accessible to the general public. The brand is a national franchise with individual territories owned and operated by local franchisees. I reached out to Jordan to discuss my troubles: scratches on the side of the car and a poor wheel suffering from curb rash. Jordan answered my call right away and we ended up scheduling an appointment the very next day. Pricing was very reasonable, particularly for the body work. It would have cost me at least 5x as much to have the parts replaced by the dealer or a traditional body shop, not to mention the added time. Jordan's service is mobile so he can bring his truck and trailer to your place. In my case, we met in a dealer's lot that he has access to, close to Equinox Fitness in Greenwich. Jordan briefed me on the steps needed and went to work on my car. He was all done about an hour and a half later, and the car looked great. I drove home with a big grin on my face, happy to have rid my car of all evidence of the fairies' destructive work!

Dino explained that this was because there was some work needed that wasn't visible in the photos I sent. It might still be a good price overall compared to what I'll pay at the body shop, but for other potential buyers, just make sure you send all the photos of the things that need repairing so that you don't get surprised by the end cost.
