When Ted, from the Window People, came out to measure he wrote up the $2,700+ window order for white hardware even though the window he was replacing and every window in the house had brass hardware. The new window was installed and later I noticed the hardware did not match the old window. When I asked to have the hardware replaced, Ted wanted over $100 to swap it out. Ted and I went back and forth over "I signed for white hardware" versus "You were instructed that I wanted the exact same window as before but longer vertically". Ted wants the money... I called customer service at Marvin Corporate and Jill was great. She sent me the hardware as a courtesy at no cost. Marvin makes a great window but where you purchase it from is important and if you are looking for reasonable support I would not call The Window People.

He tried to get me to tear up my entire driveway to fix drainage pipes that could have simply been re-routed. Further, I had to be the one to suggest more simple and cost-effective solutions (which he ultimately ended up agreeing with). When he wasn't on the premises, even his own employees would tell me that he is a "salesman" and that a lot of the replaced pipework I had already committed to could have easily been "spot-fixed." Lastly, after the work was "complete" we had a downspout that wasn't aligned properly with it's underground pipe, and as a result water was spilling everywhere during rainstorms. When i asked him to come out and fix his mistake, his reply was "Sorry, no free work, pal." This company, which also goes by Connecticut Stormwater Authority is bad news - find another option.

After the work was completed we noticed that filters were not installed on some parts of our gutter system (on so called bulbs, where water flows from the roof into). When I reached out to the company and asked for the work to be completed, the response I got was "if you are worried about clogs, adding a bulb strainer could help". What? I just paid them $6K, precisely top prevent clogging. Beware this company. One does not see what they installed or not up on the gutters and they try to get away with charging for incomplete work. CT Gutter?... Never again.
