I scheduled service with the specific intention of having the crankshaft sensor replaced, which I brought with me and gave them the sensor for replacement, which is the next step in the diagnostic process for a P0017 code. However, that repair was never performed. Instead, I was charged over $200 to be told that my car has a P0017 code -- information I clearly stated at the beginning of the visit. My new oil was drained and replaced again for $91, and an engine cleaning solution was added for $120. After paying more than $400 and waiting the entire day, the vehicle still has the exact same P0017 code and no progress was made toward the repair I originally requested. Given that the service I came in for was not completed, and the charges did not address or improve the issue, I believe I was taken advantage of. I am requesting a refund of at least 70 % of the total amount paid, as well as completion of the crankshaft sensor replacement the reason I brought the car in to begin with.
