So I needed to have my motorcycle club patches sewed on. One of my pals recommended Al's. Called his shop to see if when was a good day to have it done. He said come over the next day since he had a previous engagement and had to close up shop early. Next day came and I went down to his shop. He looked at my patches and new vest. He asked how the patches are to be designed. Showed him the arrangement and Al said "Ok!" Told me to have a seat, I was like, "Oh, you gonna do it right now?" "Yes!" Chee hoo! Waited maybe 30 minutes and he came out with the vest. Everything looked great! And the price was reasonable! Will recommend Al to my friends. And I will be back to redo my LX470 seats! read more

Al's Upholstery did a great job on my busted up Jeep seats. The seat part of my front seats had aged and cracked, my relative made a temp repair it and it was a mess. Stopped by Al's and was glad to see all they can do and all the options available to me. Al is a stand-up guy and easy to work with. Took it home for cleaning and my 11 year old Jeep interior looks brand new. Take a look at these before and after pics, then book your appt. I feel so much better riding in this now. A few months ago, I began having some issues with the drivers side seat in my 4Runner. The foam on the side bolstering was slowly disintegrating and there was almost no support for my left butt cheek. Lol Anyway ... I took a spin down to Al's Auto Upholstery for an estimate. Al immediately went outside, took a look at my seat, told me what he could do, then asked me when I was available. I like that ... so many businesses nowadays tell you when THEY'RE available, they don't ask when YOU'RE available. I get it ... it's mainly semantics but as a customer, don't you like to feel that the business you're thinking of patronizing is trying their best to accommodate you rather than the other way around? In the end, I scheduled with Al, brought my 4Runner in a few days later, and he did a great job! It took him less than 3 hours to do a fantastic job! That's how it's supposed to be ... a quick, easy transaction with good quality work and decent prices. I give 5 stars to Al's Auto Upholstery!! read more

I was referred to Al's from Waipahu Upholstery. This shop does an awesome job! As you can see, my chairs and headliner were in dire need of fixing and Al's surely delivered. Great and welcoming owner who produces quality work. Only problem I had was the little dirt stain on my pillar (in pictures) but nothing too bad. If you are in need of upholstery repair, hit up Al's! read more

Al and his crew were amazing. Extremely respectful and was personable when communicating.I say this because usually when I go into a shop the guys working are typically dismissive or rude. The moment I walked in I was greeted. I spoke with Al and his son about getting my HD sportster seat shaved and reupholstered. Al and his team made me feel Ohana. The finish product was beyond my expectation!. They are quick. They truly care for their customers. Giving options and actively listening to my needs. Completed my need within a few hrs Highly highly recommended these guys. I'll be back for future services. No need to look around these are the people to come to. read more

So the Hawaiian sun brought down the headliner down on my 2009 Jaguar XKR coupe by decoupling it from the foam backing and was driving me crazy. A few of the pillars were also having the fabric coming loose. After a temp repair so I could drive, I found Al's shop on yelp. Further research let me to his Facebook page where I found a review from a cousin! Done deal. Setup and appointment and got new headliner and pillars redone. In by 8:00 am, out by 4 p.m. same day. Quality work done at a fair price. Al even included a 5 year warranty. Highly recommended. Thanks Al and crew! read more

WORSE EXPERIENCE ! Dropped off my dining table chairs to have it reupholstered by Al.. So when we dropped it off he had us leave it on the road behind some cars.. saying he would carry them in.. We reluctantly drove off while he walked back into the shop. Knowing my chairs are still out side.. Anyway about two hours later he calls us up telling us that when he carried the chair into his shop that as he placed the chair down one of the legs fell off and said it looked like it was previously broken and repaired with glue.. Then proceeded to tell us he no longer wants to do the job! (Why Would he not want to do the job? Unless Guilty ??) Now why would I pay $520.00 to reupholster my chairs if it was cracked??? I would buy an entire set!! Look at the pictures if these was glued how in the hell would the legs hold up? I HATE LIARS!!!!! read more

AL did a complete seat restoration on my 1974 VW Thing. Everything was top notch. He has a Huge selection of top quality fabric to chose from and his teams quality of cutting and stitching is equal to the level one would see straight out of the factory or one of those celebrity level custom car shop shows. Bottom line go see and give AL a shot before going anywhere else. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm a person that is very meticulous in doing things right the first time and expecting the very best. Al and his crew replaced my headliner on my Mercedes and the results was superb! I did my research read all his reviews on Yelp and YES all those customers that gave 5 are very true, would give it 10 but it goes only up to 5 stars. Pricing is very reasonable too! If you do go to his shop don't be fooled by aesthetics but judge the quality and the results that they put out! Al is so down to earth and very easy to talk to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AL'S AUTO UPHOLSTERY. read more

I'm not the type of person to actually go out and write a review but I felt like this was needed! I noticed Al's didn't have much reviews so hopefully this gives more insight. Customer service was on point! He was very detailed in asking me what I wanted, I also explained for what I was getting (my bike seat) that I wanted something a bit different and something new, something different from the others. He finished my bike seat relatively quickly, depending on what you're getting and how busy he is I can't guarantee that but it was a great turn around time. Extremely satisfied! read more

I'm customizing my Truimph street twin so I brought Al the bench seat I wanted re-upholstered. It was a little complicated project but not impossible. I took it to two different upholsterers but to avail understandable since I had a problem explaining what I wanted done. So I kept searching and Al's business showed up ( It could have been my internet searching skills or lack there of). I showed to Al and briefly explained what I wanted done. He know exactly what I was talking about. Then he showed me pictures of motorcycle seats far more detailed than mine. They were beautiful and all the customers brought him was the seat pan. I dropped it off at around 8 am and he told me he'll try to finish it as soon as he can because he was pretty slammed with orders. Calls me a couple of hours later and texted me a picture of the seat all done!!! The pricing on top of that is very reasonable. I always say you get what you paid for. And what Al did to the seat was worth it. I'll be recommending him to anyone who asks me for an upholsterer for what ever you want upholstered. Thanks Al!!! read more

I'm resto-modding a 78 Vette, House of Kolor Candy Apple Red. Needed to redo my seats and door panels to match the new paint. Stopped by Al's, no appointment and shop was busy. Al was cool, apologized for the wait (he was putting colors on for a couple of guys). Waiting room was air conditioned and had TV. No problem waiting. When my turn came up, told Al what I wanted; but had a hard time explaining what it actually was . In my mind, wanted a clean design for seats and door panels to match the paint. Al seemed to understand and made the seats perfect. He even sent me pictures of the seats when done. Al figured out what I wanted; even if I could not explain, and as a bonus got a great price! I've been coming here almost two years now. They did my sport bike motorcycle seat re-wrapping it with a material I brought. And that came out awesome. Second time I brought a arm rest wrapped in black suede. And 3rd visit they did my roof liner with black fabric material. Never had an issue, and prices were reasonable. Went other places and was quoted double of what Al would charge. See for yourself, great work! And talk to Al personally. He's a very old school worker, no BS just straight hard working what he does best. Thank you Uncle Al! You've got a customer for life! read more

Gave Al a call right when i got my car back from Maaco since my headliner was all droopy and he quickly booked me for a day when I was available. Fast forward to that day, I came first thing in the morning and dropped off my car. He told me he would get it done at 12 if he didn't run into any problems and he stayed true to his word. My car looked totally different! Even though the headliner was a different shade from the rest of the interior, I feel like it looks even better then before.
