A few months ago, I began having some issues with the drivers side seat in my 4Runner. The foam on the side bolstering was slowly disintegrating and there was almost no support for my left butt cheek. Lol Anyway ... I took a spin down to Al's Auto Upholstery for an estimate. So the Hawaiian sun brought down the headliner down on my 2009 Jaguar XKR coupe by decoupling it from the foam backing and was driving me crazy. A few of the pillars were also having the fabric coming loose. After a temp repair so I could drive, I found Al's shop on yelp. Further research let me to his Facebook page where I found a review from a cousin! Done deal. Setup and appointment and got new headliner and pillars redone. In by 8:00 am, out by 4 p.m. same day. WORSE EXPERIENCE ! Dropped off my dining table chairs to have it reupholstered by Al.. So when we dropped it off he had us leave it on the road behind some cars.. saying he would carry them in.. We reluctantly drove off while he walked back into the shop. Knowing my chairs are still out side.. Anyway about two hours later he calls us up telling us that when he carried the chair into his shop that as he placed the chair down one of the legs fell off and said it looked like it was previously broken and repaired with glue.. Then proceeded to tell us he no longer wants to do the job! (Why Would he not want to do the job? Unless Guilty ??) Now why would I pay $520.00 to reupholster my chairs if it was cracked??? I'm customizing my Truimph street twin so I brought Al the bench seat I wanted re-upholstered. It was a little complicated project but not impossible. I took it to two different upholsterers but to avail understandable since I had a problem explaining what I wanted done. So I kept searching and Al's business showed up ( It could have been my internet searching skills or lack there of). I showed to Al and briefly explained what I wanted done. He know exactly what I was talking about. Then he showed me pictures of motorcycle seats far more detailed than mine. They were beautiful and all the customers brought him was the seat pan.
