Two weeks ago I made the mistake of calling Al's carpet cleaning.because my regular carpet cleaner was not available .His quoted price was lower then my regular cleaner and now I know why. He showed up to my home an hour late in a Pick Up truck and cleaned my carpets with portable unit that I could rent from Home Depot . This was the worst service I've ever received from a private buisness! I called this business because I had a red stain I'm my carpet that I needed to get out. I already got most of it out leaving the stain a light pink color. After he was done...he told me "OK, all the red is out" I said "it still looks the same. It's pink" he continues to try to convince me that this stain is out when I'm looking dead at it. I told him I wasn't going to pay him for the extra "steam procedure" that supposedly was supposed to remove this stain. He said the service for one room and the stain was 65 dollars then got to my house and said " O a deep clean will be 85 and the stain treatment is 35" basically suckered me in to coming out to my house thinking I would just pay the amount other than what we agreed on over the phone . I do not recommend Al for anything or give him even 1 star. His words BEFORE he does a job are completely opposite of his words AFTER he does a job. I feel I have been old-fashioned "scammed" by a nonprofessional with old run down equipment desperate for money. He spent the first 15 minutes telling me of recent bad customer experiences (should have stopped right then). He claimed by cleaning the side up of my rag rug would be so deep cleaned by his ### decimal wand and suction all the way through to the back side, it would not requiring cleaning the other side. Five minutes into cleaning he called me in to say he smelled an overpowering dog urine odor and tried to sell me a deodorizing treatment. I only smelled old wet rug and refused. I have a very very sensitive sense of smell and would have agreed immediately if true. He next offered for me to approve his 15 minute nonpretreated soapy water suction job. When I pointed out an area that obviously was still dirty he claimed it was "rust" that is impossible to get out, and when I asked him to try the pretreatment that hung out of his back pocket he changed his song to "the cotton stripes being darker", and, finally he claimed it was "urine". I got him to pretreat and go over that area and two others with visual success. He further promised that when I vacuumed the next day there would be no dirt on either side of the rug. (See picture of vacuum filter and contents from just one side below from my test vacuuming today.) Last but not least, he parted by saying he was losing money at Highland's casino and could not get himself financially right side up, and, importantly that he had never cleaned a rug like this before. I called today to ask his recommendation for truly cleaning this rug since he had never had cleaned one before and told him about how much dirt, hair and dust I vacuumed up. I could not get a word in edge-wise. He spun justifications, accusations and kept referring to having shown me a the dirty water he had collected from his machine (which by the way he threw out in my bathtub!). He did not offer compensation for his inexperience with this kind of rug or to right the wrong. He complained that his ### decimal wand and suction weren't enough for the job.
