We were able to choose a cabinet and countertop pretty quickly. The orders were all as expected. The cabinetmaker's work is good, and it was easy for our woodworker to install the cabinets. Our stone countertops look beautiful, and they are cut really nicely. As far as craftsmanship and timeliness, everything was expected. Brock was very quick to respond to me about my questions. I had a lot of questions. I'm not trying to discount the frustrations in these reviews. They are also real to some extent. Remodels and building can be extremely stressful, requiring decisions and money (lots of money sometimes). I won't lie if I say I haven't been tempted to give vendors bad reviews because of timeliness and lack of response. The key for me was to really try and reach out and ask questions and get answers that helped me. That didn't mean they'd be faster or cheaper. It just meant I knew what was going on. Now that I have a little distance from this phase of our project, I can say that I am happy with the work and the options that Mountain Modern gave us. They did the work that we paid for, and they did it well.

The first one called me back then no showed. John at Whaley Custom Tile contacted me and gave me a reasonable estimate to install floor tile then porcelain and glass tile for a tub surround. He was upfront that he was very busy and would try to work me in to his schedule. I appreciated John's honesty about being busy and was ok with waiting. John was able to get the floor done a week later and was able to finish the tub surround within a month. All of the tile work was beautiful. Communication was not the best so I had to pester John a bit but he was always very pleasant. I do however understand this happens when someone is a sole owner/operator with no office staff. As a second homeowner, I was around for the floor install but not the tub surround. The job site was not cleaned up as much as I would have liked but not so bad to drop a star. I also realize with winter snow and ice that it's much harder to keep things clean when you have to come in and out of the house a lot to cut tiles and mix mortar and grout.

He is always prompt in any communications, in order to fit our tight schedules, the team came out Saturday to do the work. We very much appreciated that! Aldo, the father, is most skillful and one of the smartest person we ever worked with. The counter on the sink side has many tricky corners, he got it perfectly! We ran into an issue with one of the vanity with 6" apron. He creatively came up a solution and tirelessly carried the stone piece back to his shop to refinish. The precision on each stone piece and the lining-up with the cabinet are just perfect! The Aldos are good people to work with, they are skillful and most importantly very kind.
