Full disclosure I didn't use them. So why am I giving them a high review? I called with a job of widening door knob holes which I believed I couldn't do in that there was already a hole and thus nothing to guide the drill. They are nice and friendly. I didn't want to call the locksmith because it was a stupid problem with an easy solution. It was a holiday, and the people renting our place didn't know how to open a privacy lock (eye roll) despite having the right key. I installed a new Schlage digital lock to my front door early in the morning. It connected seamlessly and I double checked it before exiting my house. I was outside with my dog for a few minutes and while looking at the app, it alerted me to update the firmware.... without knowledge, it disconnects the WiFi, which resulted in loss of access to my house. I called the Schlage tech support and the only solution they could offer was to call a locksmith. I searched YELP and 2 responded within minutes, however they said I was outside their service territory - even though I was in their service map?? I checked with AAA since I have homeowners insurance with them and they recommended contacting Alpine Lock in Truckee. Mitch responded right away and offered to come after his current job. I asked him to hold tight to see if I was able to get in through a window first. He checked back with me after his job to see if I was ok. He came over and got me back in my house within 5 minutes. Staying at a friend's vacation house. Car was broken down in Truckee and in addition we thought we were locked out of the house. I called Alpine about getting a lockout service and was quoted $225. Since we couldn't drive back to the house, because the car was being worked on, the Alpine worker picked up my wife and son and took them to the vacation house. That part of the experience was five stars. However, I had suggested that the garage door was the most likely lock to work on, and the Alpine guy found that the garage door was only closed and NOT locked. We were charged $225 anyway. We do not expect to get free transportation in such a situation, but since the guy did not even need to get any tools out, we thought even a $150 charge would be reasonable. Paid the Alpine tech and took it up later with the company. The only positive about that part was I was called back. But (I'm guessing the owner, or one of the top bosses) was rude and insulting, would not even let me talk, and basically said "too bad" and hung up on me. read more

Ever been stuck at home waiting all day when you could be mailing a birthday card, buying groceries etc.? I had a 10 - 11 a.m. appointment window , called to get an eta and heard that the locksmith was struggling with a car key. Said I understood and looked forward to seeing him.
