At the end of the first course, the Beginner Puppy class, we were presented with a certificate of completion and a beautiful packet of photos that they took - worthy of being framed. They also filled out the paperwork to be sent into the AKC for their S.T.A.R. Puppy certification. I am proud to have that certificate because it reminds me of my commitment to raising a good dog. I love taking classes at this place. I did sign up for a class at a different local business and can give a good comparison. At Redfern, we start out, sitting in a comfortable circle with our dogs and there are places along the wall where we can hook up to a chain so our hands are free, when needed. My puppy was originally very hyper so I welcomed the break from reigning her in. The instructors at Redfern are very patient and they follow a set curriculum. They are quick to praise baby steps and always made me feel like I was doing the right things be bringing Hero for training. Beyond that, they have been available to me for email support and that has meant a lot to me. I highly recommend Redfern Canines.

I anticipated letting my husband do the actual training and just watch, but he made it look so easy that I volunteered to try walking him. wow, to say I was shocked and pleased is an understatement. My 4 month and 23 day old puppy, Binx, died while in care at DogSports. A DogSports employee told our vet office that Binx had been unable to settle himself all day. Binx was there 8 hours that day, had noted crate anxiety, employees were aware he was in distress, and NO ONE CALLED until he has passed away. He was found in his crate dead, with vomit and diarrhea. Other PUBLIC information, the owner of the DogSports, Joanne Reaney, was charged with 35 counts of theft for allegedly embezzling $517k from her employer years ago. I'm not an attorney, but the court of common pleas document looks like an agreement was made for payback to potentially avoid the felony charge/jail time (PA criminal law Rule 586). In addition, more PUBLIC information, there is an open state tax lien on the business and there appears to be more than 10 open civil cases (with monetary judgments of over $100k due).
