And was still forced to take both of my dogs back at the same time. I had several different reasons for wanting to take my dogs back one at a time and what I wanted didn't matter. I wanted to be able to say goodbye to my dogs one at a time as I have always done because thats how I trained them. I also have a bad elbow and didn't want my dog pulling as hard as it could to get ahead of my younger dog. My oldest dog knows it's alpha and normally leads. And just like I expected my dog was pulling my bad elbow and I had to say goodbye to them both at the same time. Now my elbow is in pain and I am honestly upset that the person even tried forcing their way after I told them perfectly clear 3 times in a row no ill take them back one at a time. Without even asking me why the individual decided whats was best for her and what I had to say didn't matter. After the individual saw and heard me scold my dog for pulling she then decided to let me lead. While I was in the process of putting the beds down for my dogs what does the individual do? Closes the gate on me and latches it. I am claustrophobic and get overwhelmed easily in tight areas not to mention loud areas. So I gave my dog's a hasted goodbye which most likely made them feel like they did something wrong. I don't understand why my wishes couldn't be respected. When I pick up my dogs I am making sure they note my account that I will only take my dogs back one at a time for now on.

They only charge me $16.50 a night (meaning you aren't charged for the day you pick them up, unlike the kennel i mention right after this) for my dog to stay there which is the cheapest I've found in the area, MUCH better than Country Comfort in Shrewsbury that charges $25-30 a day. I follow the kennel lady to the kennel my dog goes in, say bye to my dog, give her my dog's supplies and I leave. Then I come pick her up and pay the low price. As long as it continues to be this simple and cheap I will continue to use this company.

Hello Dan, Dr Daniel A Pike DVM…read more I'm contacting you because of the rude experience I had this morning with your receptionist around 8:55a. First words out of her mouth were, "WHAT are you here for?" You and I both know that a receptionists first phrase should have "hello" and "help you" in it. Not to mention the gentleman behind rolling his eyes with me at her. Then his eyes got as big as plates because of what she did. Your receptionist and another lady came to make excuses and blame comcast for them not answering calls while I was sitting in your parking lot. The two of them came back out again to tell me that Rick was not coming out. My reply was, "who is Rick, I didn't have a appointment with Rick, I have an appointment with the owner." Your receptionist replied," Ohh, dr Dan is not here today." Great, your receptionist who made the appointment(5/7/25@11:37a) with you is now telling me you are not here. My reply after all of that was, "well, you better find someone who is." I next watched your manager, front manager who came out to tell me that she can make an appointment with you and that she, "isn't a doctor." I said, "that's obvious, you're not wearing the right clothes." She then defended bad actions and doesn't want me harassing her receptionist. My reply, "You go ahead and make that appointment and I'll contact him(you) about this." The front manager then said she knows the truth about comcast and I'm the one lying. I laughed at her, "so you know that Daniel wanted a place to park in the shade so he bought the building next door." The building next door that comcast, back when comcast was a phone company that covered Dover, signed a deal with the ower of that building so comcast can't be kicked out of Dover. To all the doubters out there. I can say it because I was there. I watched Daniel park in the shade by the building and asked if he wasn't worried about getting towed. He replied, no, I'm not! For you to not be worried then you'd have to own it..... He got a smile from ear to ear. That is when their(Dover Area Animal Hospital) phone problems started, and have continued for over two decades! They knew it would be a problem and did it anyway. Their excuses are exactly that, excuses. I see you and only you, outside, because of those two and there constant problem causing. Maybe David, in a pinch. When I'm at Sunday's I hear good things about David and you. Your receptionists and their manager, people have a lot to say about them. I don't care if it's a woman or a man or something in between, as long as they do their job correctly. I miss your mother being there. This would never have happened. Our first experience with the company was in the early 80's, for our goats. David and you have a great reputation around here. Unfortunately your receptionists and there manager have the opposite reputation. This was written at 10:23a this morning, being sent now. This will be copied and mailed also. Fyi: To the people who think they see smiles. They are not smiles, they are shit-grins, laughing at you. Respectfully waiting for your reply,

We've had our dog here on at least three occasions while on vacation. He has gotten kennel cough every time even though he's vaccinated. The second time we opted to have him shampooed before we picked him up since it was a new service they were offering at the time. He was not clean but had a strong doggy deodorant sprayed on him. We decided we wouldn't pay for that again. Also, from this visit, a trip to the vet was necessary as he was not getting better from the Kennel Cough and had to be on antibiotics. This last time was enough for me to bring me to the point of this review. We went to the counter to pick up our dog. After trying to upsell us on a higher price package for our next booked stay, the man behind the desk told us that "he (our dog) has gotten himself into some mud" and that he needed to hose him off so he may be a little wet. Ok, fine. We thought this was strange because he was in an indoor kennel, and if taken out to go to the bathroom, he should have been accompanied. But we anxiously waited to see our pup. He came out and seemed ok but was ready to get out of there. We were not prepared for the odor that emanated from him when we got into the car. It smelled like he had rolled in dog poop and urine for the several days he was there. We rolled down the windows and it was so bad my stomach turned. It took us three baths to get that smell off!! So my question here is, was he taken out to use the bathroom or left to do his business in the crate?! We paid for four potty breaks. Then later that afternoon, he pooped and there was blood in his stool! Ok maybe from stress, so we didn't worry too much. Then later that night from 2:30 - 9:30 AM, our poor pup vomited more times than I can count! He was so dehydrated that he was shaking with every inhale he took. Needless to say, we canceled the upcoming dates we had booked in advance with Besa. I'm sick to my stomach that we paid $300 to have our dog not well taken care of and come home sick. And there you have it...An honest review. If anything, I hope that the owners read this and take heed of what these pup parents have to deal with when they come home and begin to clean up their act.
