In brief, the facility and staff are quite nice but it was some of their policies that prevented me from selecting them for daily care. My situation is one that requires bringing my dog to daycare every weekday as I now have a lengthy commute and no way to ensure my pup is exercised properly during the day. During my process of vetting and interviewing with a handful of capable dog daycares in the Frederick, MD and Hanover, PA areas, I was referred here. Some of the pros are that the facility/campus is beautiful. It has a plethora of amenities for every dog. The staff seem pleasant and knowledgeable and definitely love what they do. The hours are great for accommodating a range of schedules, especially those needing an early morning drop off. Some of the cons are the prices. They add daily fees if you'd like them to feed your dog a snack, even if you provide it. Moreover, as someone who voiced that I was looking to commit to everyday use for a guaranteed year time frame, they we're unwilling to offer any sort of package rate. Lastly, drop offs without 24 hour notice are not permitted. Let's say I would like to use them in a part-time capacity - my daily schedule can change at any time and it's sometimes not possible to plan that far ahead. Overall, I might have used their services more regularly if some of their policies were different, but it simply cost too much and required too much foresight to make it happen. Mags and Me is a more reasonable facility located just down the road. Give them a call first.

We were so happy with the care our dogs got! When I picked them up, they were clean, happy, and I was able to see that they were fed properly by the amount of food that remained. Two days ago we had an accident happening and unfortunately our vacation will not happen anymore. We called them and requested a cancelation. We did it a week before, which is plenty of time. Over the phone they never said they won't return the money, but when I requested the amount returned they refused. they use venmo/cash for a reason. Have your pets somewhere else. I'm even thinking to take them to court, that's how upset they got me when we already have a lot going on. Post review, response to owner: you did loose our dog, look in your documents for Spike. This was more than 8 years ago. Never wanted to go with you but husband did thinking you all change. Your policy says you can cancel 7 days in advance which we did. Last year we cancelled a month in advance. We have the right to cancel, you have no right (per your policy also) to take our money. But I will take you to court and believe me I will find the bills when you had our dog a few years ago.

How incompetent is your staff and cold blooded to do such a thing. Thankfully Shores is NOT incompetent and called on my behalf to explain to these bloodsuckers they did get the information on Monday and I am not responsible for any fees. Dog recently neutered by York Count SPCA and started bleeding excessively and has not pooped yet…read more Company does not speak with you on the phone. They only do communication through email. They state in writing that you can bring your animal back for issues and they will look at them. However, they refused service on my dog and stated that they do not have the tools to address the issue/emergencies. They stated that I should go back to my veterinarian or a full service place. My veterinarian states that the SPCA should address the issue because they just did the surgery. The process was also very messy and confusing. The SPCA did not give full written instructions on how to handle the animal post surgery in writing or an email until after I left the location. The animal bled all over the house and was unhappy about the cone on his head. His heart was rapidly beating and I had to calm him down. The cone also came off so I had to stop the animal from messing with the area. I am disabled so it was hard to work with the animal. I was also told at the scene that I had to lift the animal and he could not walk the stairs. It would have been nice to know ahead of time in writing that I needed to prepare my house for the chaos and lots of blood. I was very unhappy with the service and now I have to pay extra money to address this emergency situation. I do not recommend this service. I recommend that you go to your veterinarian for neutering or spaying. They do not appear to have the ability to address issues/emergencies. I do not understand why they are allowed to run this practice in Pennsylvania. This is a dangerous situation for animals. I am also disabled so the entire process /set-up I feel was a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) rights. I am so sorry I went to the SPCA instead of my veterinarian.
