A quick glance, and you can see if anything was left. There are outlets and usb ports aplenty. I (as a seasond traveler) would recommend carrying a nightlight for the bathroom. This comes in handy in many hotels. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I will look for the Avid brand in the future.

From the outside, the hotel looked brand new and had lots of parking. As you stepped inside, you entered into a large lobby area with lots of seating and dining tables. At the front was a small check-in desk and at the back was the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, microwave, as well as where the 'grab'n'go' breakfast is located. The room itself is basic but room enough and has all the basic amenities. As you opened the door, on the left was the entrance to the bathroom and after that was a storage rack with a place to store you luggage on top as well as hooks with hangers to hang your stuff on. Next to that was a small section which contained a small ironing board, and underneath the luggage rack was a fridge as well as cubby hotels with additional storage and the iron. The bathroom was also a decent size and contained a sink with counter space, a toilet, and a small stand-in shower. The shower was the only thing that looked small and prefabricated (and thus a bit cheap) but overall the bathroom was decent and had Dove toiletries next to the sink (hand wash and lotion) as well as in the shower (body wash, shampoo and conditioner). The bed was located along the left side of the wall and I had a king-size room which the bed size and comfort were decent and provided a good nights sleep. On either side of the bed were two small nightstands with plugs as well as USB ports on either side. Across from the bed, along the right side of the wall, contained additional hooks to hang your jacket/clothes, a TV mounted along the wall, and a long desk underneath that along with a TV-tray/mini table underneath the big table. The big table was great to do work as well as eat and the mini-table provided extra storage for the work and food. Overall, the room was a decent size, comfortable, had the basic amenities that a guests need, and provided a good nights sleep. The hotel does provide additional amenities for the guests including complimentary parking, complimentary wifi, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate available all the time, grab'n'go breakfast, pool as well as a gym. I was only there for a little while so only experienced the complimentary parking (lots of spaces) and the complimentary wifi which was strong and was able to connect multiple devices. Had I stayed longer I would've enjoyed the complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate, the fitness facility as well as the breakfast. Overall, it was a nice hotel with lots of amenities and services for the guest. The room was comfortable, provided a good nights sleep, and the wifi was strong.

What made it particularly disappointing was the contrast with virtually every other place we visited. Everywhere else; from the Tobacco Club to Cooper's Hawk Winery and the other establishments we visited, we experienced genuine Southern hospitality. People were warm, welcoming, friendly, and made us feel like valued guests. Unfortunately, that was completely absent at this hotel. The front desk staff could not have made a worse first impression. The interaction felt less like checking into a hotel and more like dealing with security at Madison Square Garden. There were no pleasantries, no warmth, no attempt to make us feel welcome, and certainly no sense that the staff understood they were representing a hospitality brand. The demeanor was rigid, dismissive, and unapologetic. I am a Marriott Platinum member with nearly 500 nights at Marriott properties, and I have never experienced such a rude and unwelcoming introduction to a hotel. I understand that early check-in cannot always be accommodated, and I can certainly understand that elevators occasionally break. Those things are frustrating but understandable. What is not understandable is treating a loyal guest as though their presence is an inconvenience. The refusal to accommodate an early check-in was disappointing, but the bigger issue was the attitude surrounding it. Add in a broken elevator while the remaining elevator makes an alarming whining noise in both directions, and the overall experience was simply unacceptable. But even those physical shortcomings would have been far more forgivable if the staff had shown even a basic level of hospitality. Hotels have one job when a guest walks through the door: make that guest feel welcome. Your front desk team did the exact opposite. For a Marriott property, particularly one in a city where Southern hospitality is such an obvious part of the culture, the experience was remarkably poor. The hotel may have an opportunity to fix an elevator, but fixing the first impression your front desk staff gives guests will require a much more fundamental change in attitude and training. I sincerely hope hotel management takes this feedback seriously. With nearly 500 Marriott nights behind me, I have enough experience to know the difference between a minor inconvenience and genuinely poor hospitality. This was the latter.

We stayed two nights and found it quite relaxing and fun. It's a great jumping off place for exploring wineries, local dining, and historical sites, but equally good as a retreat location. We did a lot of reading on the grounds...hammocks, chairs, and benches abound. Details like coffee and tea anytime, filling and fancy breakfasts with choice ingredients, all homemade, and an abundance of flora and fauna to enjoy made it a bespoke, boutique experience. As we sat listening to the early morning birds from our balcony, identifying all the trees we could spot, my husband said, "Worth every penny!" Agreed.

As soon I pulled up to the property, I loved the structure of the buildings displaying pretty various stones. I couldn't take any pictures since it was pouring rain when I was there. They have plenty of free parking in front of the buildings. Also I noticed that everything was well kept up and pristine conditions. To their landscaping, restaurant and especially the hotel room. As soon as I got into my hotel room, I felt so relaxed. I love the ambiance and how calming everything is. The room was super clean and everything was placed so perfectly. I do not sleep well in hotel room beds but I was pleasantly surprised on how comfortable the bed was and I was able to get some needed rest. Literally everyone was super nice, friendly and helpful! I have to give a special shout to Marianne Postma-Harris for being so generous and accommodating, I really appreciated it! Marianne went above and beyond to ensure that I was well taken care of! She was beyond friendly and sweet! Breakfast is included in the stay which is a plus! You fill out the door tag menu they provide you and you leave it outside the door and then in the morning they bring it directly to your room. I had a veggie omelet and it was so delish! Def recommend that one for sure! Even though I didn't get a chance to take advantage of their restaurant or spa services, I plan on my next visit! It is such a nice local get away and also a great place to have a gathering or a special event! I cannot wait to go back that's how much I loved this place!

Clean enough for park lodges, firm beds and decent quality bedding. This time we stayed in a premium room with two doubles in the pinnacle building right next to the office and the restaurant so very convenient for breakfast. It's west facing so you get the sunset. Room's a good size with a closet/luggage area outside the bathroom, wood flooring, fridge, a small table with two chairs, and there are also two patio chairs outside the door (upper floor has better view on the balcony - ground floor has a grassy lawn area in front). Aircon doesn't seem to be working but room feels pretty cool with the ceiling fan on. WiFi is pretty much nonexistent - it only seems to work in the office where there is a seating area or maybe the dining room. This time also tried the closest trail - Stony Man - a short walk from the lodge. Not sure why it took us so many visit to hike on this trail - it's a short walk (just an easy 1.6 mile circuit) to the summit with fantastic view of the valley and enough space on the rock outcropping to sit on to enjoy the view.

Annual park fee is $35 and a better option if you come to the park often and pay for entrance. We were immediately impressed by the scenic drive, low traffic, and visitor center of the park. This is the least crowded national park we ever visited with so many trails to hike & explore. Bicyclists will love the immense bike routes and trails in this park. They engineered the roads with bicycle only paved roads beside the automobile road. Perfect for bicyclists. The visitor center was conveniently located by the Laurel Loop Trail and restroom areas. It was the first place we visited to get information for the park and a stamp for our national park passport book. The rangers were very helpful and showed us locations & trails we might be interested in seeing. We hiked two hours on the easiest trails in the Prince William National Park. We hiked the Laurel Loop Trail, the Birch Buff Trail, the Mary Byrd Branch Trail, the Quantico Falls Trail, and the North Valley Trail. The rugged terrain of some of these trails made it difficult to hike. I actually got holes in the heels of my old boots walking these trails. While we hiked we listened to birds on the trails and identified some birds we never heard before: Golden-crowned Kinglet, other unknown birds - etc. The Lauren Loop Trail had miniature Fairy Homes placed along the trail which was a delight to see. The Quantico Falls Trail was one of the smallest trails and winded down to the Quantico Creek & small waterfalls. We spent the most time in this area sitting on the large flat rocks on the creek watching the falls and the fish in the water. Proper hiking boots and socks are a definite must for these trails even the easiest trails. Prince William's Park has of the most difficult hikes we encountered despite going on the easiest trails we encountered yet it was one of the most memorable and enjoyable times we had hiking. Looking forward to coming back to this park.
