Been coming here for years but recently started coming back because I got tired of cutting my own hair. Service here is very fast and the staff here are very understanding. Pricing is pretty good here too, but it's cash only. Usually haircuts are first come first serve type so you need to wait a little bit. I usually just get my head shaved with a 0 cut so I'm in and out pretty fast. The really nice thing about this place is that they're open on Sundays, and they have a lot of people available to cut hair, so if you're in a pinch, you could definitely get your haircut here. They're a solid and very affordable choice for basic maintenance on simple short haircuts like line-ups and side/back trims where you know exactly what clipper lengths to request. The vibe is honestly not great even for a hole in the wall barbershop and it's kinda dingy and run-down inside and they could definitely do a better job cleaning up the hair on the floor. Anything more involved than that kind of basic maintenance or high/medium/low regulation military-style haircuts is probably gonna be a disappointment. There's significant language barrier issues with communication and there's been multiple times I've gone in and told them to just take a half or quarter inch off the top and clean up the sides as I was trying to grow my already pretty short hair out a little and they misunderstood it to mean cut it down to that length instead of taking off that length so I ended up leaving with a high-and-motivated Screaming Eagle type deal rather than what I wanted which was just a trim. Not the end of the world because hair grows back and it's a style I can make work but it was definitely frustrating to have all that progress undone. read more

The WORST haircut I've ever had. The barber (older man) left a lopsided triangle in the back of my head that he said he couldn't see. I even looked to the barber in the next chair and she just stared at me with a vacant look. The barbers do not speak English well at all! The barber at the next chair over almost clippered the client's hair when he specifically asked her not to. He had to catch her quick when she tried to put the clippers on his head. My sides were totally uneven and my barber left clipper divots in my hair. When I called out the problems, he told me it was all because I have a bump on my head. I looked ridiculous. All I wanted to a generic men's haircut, nothing special. All he did was use clippers and a comb. No scissors, no technique at all. I drove immediately to another barbershop to get it fixed and the three barbers there all came over to look at the cut and couldn't believe it. The FIRST thing they saw was the triangle on the back of my head and the unevenness of the cut. They were totally dogging on my haircut and wanted to know where I'd gone. AVOID Alpha Barber Shop. I would give them a four on a good day. Select the person who cuts your hair carefully. Some of them do not listen. Their prices went from $18 to $21, recently, but it is fair. I never wait more than 15 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to cut. They could do something to elevate the atmosphere, but, otherwise, it is a quick way to get a decent hair cut. Generally, they are okay. Horrible attitude. We came in and the woman did a very sloppy job. When I asked if she could fix up a patch of hair that wasn't blended properly on my son she rolled her eyes and said it was fine. Second time here for myself. I went back today and went to my usual barber. She's still awesome. She did exactly what I asked without giving the third degree like other asian hairstylists I've been. The previous hair salon I went to the hairstylist was didn't want me to cut my long hair short. I decided to cut my hair short after years of wearing it long and came across this place on yelp. For a measly $15, I was given much more attention than I've ever gotten at any hair salons I've been to to get my long hair trimmed! Honestly, for a female haircut, I'd be lucky if they even looked at me for $50 let alone $15! My barber was a lovely Vietnamese auntie who also wore a short haircut. She did buzzer, scissors, clippers AND straight razor work on my cut including eyebrow shaping! Again, for $15!! I was so blown away I brought the hubs back later that week for a cut too. Unbeatable price and amazing haircut. I walked into this unassuming shop because I read all the reviews about it being a solid haircut for $15. All my expectations were blown away because this haircut rivaled $40+ haircuts I would get at traditional men's barber shops. The place has no frills. There was no wait when I walked in, and the amazing woman who cut my hair did so in such a short amount of time. I requested a 0 fade, and she did it perfectly! As an Asian guy whose hair on the sides sticks straight out, it's annoying to handle the upkeep of constant haircuts to keep the sides short, so I like getting a skin fade (0) to reduce the haircuts I need. I called ahead and was told they do proper shave with razor when i sat in the chair the lady came at me a trimmer. I explained I want razor shave and she said yes..i thought they will first use trimmer like most others and then do a proper shave with foam and razor but she jus did the trimmer shave and said done..I explained again but no use.. I usually don't leave a review, but I'm beyond livid. Took my son in for a haircut. the customer service was horrible. We arrived 35 minutes before closing. If they did not want to do any more haircuts, ok, simply say sorry, can you come back tomorrow? we were not greeted, so I proceeded with informing them that it would be one haircut. No Reply. How? my son had long curly hair. I had asked for the top of his hair to be cut with scissors. I asked for a high fade. WHERE IS THE FADE? T My son is in middle school. He has been crying none stop. There is no possible way of fixing this!!!!. She rushed the haircut, and now my son is paying the consequences. Also, while cutting his hair, this lady and the 2 men there kept speaking in their language, staring at me and my son. very unprofessional. Best barber I've found in South Bay. Military so I get a lot of haircuts. This Vietnamese business provides the sharpest most affordable cuts that I've found. So much so that I even after moving out of Sunnyvale I still come down here for my biweekly trim. Dung Le is my go-to but they all do an excellent job. Very high attention to detail, quick (usually 15-20 min for my medium skin fade), and insanely affordable. All tools are used - clippers, scissors, electric shaver, and straight blade. Half of what you would pay anywhere else and higher quality! A steal. Only negative would be that it's difficult to communicate since none of them speak English too well so if you are particular about something you might run into an issue. I went for my haircut today . I am kind of regular customer since 2023. Their service is not same every time. The staff are not kind of friendly, sometimes very rude. After they finished cutting hair, they don't clean the chair, leg stand and the floor for next customer. They have the next customer sit in the dirty chair and floor. After the hair cut, they don't give any effort to clean the hair. I am also not sure about their hygiene. I am very much disappointed today. I would think twice before I go back again. read more

Today I experienced the worst haircut I've ever had in my life. I've been going to this barber shop for several months because of the price and location to my home. First couple of time the haircuts were pretty good for the price but not consistent. I bounced around from barber to barber not knowing how they were going to do each time. Went here for a cut, got one from the younger dude in there, I had pretty long curly/wavy hair below my shoulders, asked them to cut it above my shoulders and layer it similar to how it looked in a photo of myself, got a nod and he said "layer" so I thought that meant he understood, he proceeds to shave (not trim, shave) most of the hair on the back of my head, then after the cut he says "layer, what layer" and tells me "layering is for women, for men's you want it like this" and now my hair looks like a shit Velma from Scooby Doo for the next 6 months. I came here after reading all the glowing reviews of the place and now that I have a haircut, I'd like to address the individuals here who claim that "you get what you pay for" and that anyone who complains is entitled. To those people, I say there are plenty of Asian barbershops here at the same price point who will: - Work quickly on simple haircuts without any errors - Clean up the loose hair with a blowdryer or small hand-broom instead of a regular hand vacuum that messes up your inner ears whenever it gets close to them and - LET YOU SEE THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD AFTER YOUR HAIRCUT The barber I had not only didn't listen to anything I said about how I wanted my hair cut, but somehow messed up the simple haircut he decided I should have by leaving one side blended and the other side not, all while not letting me see the back of my head after the haircut was done. Because of this, I highly recommend this place to true "alpha's" only.
