A well deserved retirement and the shop is left in great hands. As of early Aug'21, Raquel is the only one working the shop. She is in the process of expanding the shop and doing some remodeling and looking to serve the community and customers! The wait might be some time, as she is the one working and she is looking for help! I showed Raquel pictures of what I normally get and she took her time to get the details right. I usually get a skin fade and drop fade the back with a hard line. After she finishes up, she will give you the mirror to check to your liking. This time, I wanted the back shorter than how she had cut it, so she spent some time cutting my hair shorter to my request! This place will definitely be packed real fast once more people know that Raquel has moved to Den's. She had a large clientele base at Jerry's. No appointments, walk in only. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in almost every way. His barber (a tall redhead) seemed rushed from the start. The session, which was supposed to be around 45 minutes, barely lasted 20 minutes. He had to ask for the shampoo and conditioning--which were supposed to be part of the package--and the scalp massage was quick and not relaxing at all. The razor outline never happened, the neck shave isn't even included, and even the hot towel had to be requested. For a "premium" service, the attention to detail and pampering were just not there. My husband left saying he could've gotten a better cut and experience at Supercuts in 15 minutes. I was glad I didn't load too much money onto his gift card because if the next visit isn't better, he definitely won't be going back. Hammer & Nails has a great concept, but the execution today was mediocre at best. Probably skip unless it's a gift card.
