This place has changed. It's no longer a good barbershop. They do bad work and they don't listen to what the customer wants.

I went to this haircut salon today which is Saturday, October 1st at 12 pm. First, when I walked in with my two sons that needed haircuts , the two lady's who were working on another two clients did not even bother to look at us and ask if we needed anything or how long the wait time was so I stood there for five minutes thinking that any minute they will greet me and let me know the wait after five minutes I sat down and looked at them to see if they will notice us they kept doing what they where doing. We waited over 30 minutes for the other clients to be finished and one finished her client and after that she looked at us and went to the backroom which was located next to where she was helping her client. I waited for another five minutes and still the other girl didn't bother to say something or look at us so we just left their salon and I would never go back to this place ever. They are very unprofessional and unfriendly. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went in on a random Thursday afternoon and it was empty. Lots of labels on the drawers and equipment made it seem like they were doing they're part to sanitize and stay Covid safe. Both mine and my son's haircuts took a little longer than I'm used to, but the care and effort each stylist took was very clear. Hoang cut my hair, or at least that was the station I was at. When you go to a new barber shop, you will either have a good experience where you'll be a regular or never come back. This was my first time here and it will be my last. The young lady that cut my hair was slow on shaving my sides and I felt like she was not confident in her skills since she took so long just to give me a simple clean taper. Seriously, they did a great job. The service was quick and not rushed at all. I'm a guy, got a trim, she really took her time making sure that she did a good job, then finished with a shampoo. Amazing! great scalp massage. I left there feeling very refreshed and clean and very happy with my hair cut not to mention my scalp felt like it was floating above my head. The price was super cheap: $10 for the hair cut $5 for the shampoo While my barber was taking her time to do a good job on my hair the other barber lady was working fast to quickly get through the waiting customers. Cutting two customers hair in the time my barber cut and shampooed only mine. The other lady was probably thinking I'll make more money than that slow barber cuz I'll get through more people faster than her thus getting more $. So I paid my barber $25 for the hair cut since, in my mind, she clearly deserved more praise than the lady that was rushing through her clients. I totally would recommend coming here. The husband gets his hurr did here. The price is excellent- only $9 for a cut. I think it's $13 for the whole shampoo shebang. He usually just walks in, and gets it cut right away. A procrastinators dream! They do an ok job. Not the best hair cut around, but hey... It's $9. read more

Go in here once a month to get my haircut by Kathy. She is a very friendly and bubbly person who has been cutting hair for 7+ years. She is very precise with her haircuts and takes her time to ensure quality. I wont return to a haircut place usually if they dont do a good job. That is not the case here. Kathy does an excellent job cutting hair and I am very impressed! Which is why I continue to return. The only reason this review is four stars is because the shop is cash only. So I usually have to go to an ATM before coming in. read more

Visited this place in Saturday morning. Three ladies are working there and I am the first one inline. All customers are male including two boys. Only need to wait for 5 mins and it is my turn. The hair cut tools about 15 mins. The lady did a great job on that. My wife might have a second opinion though. The place is a bit old and outdated. The chairs might have more than thirty years history behind them. But it is good place to have a quick haircut with $10. read more

Don't let her fool you into thinking she speaks English... she definitely does not. She'll nod her head and act like she understands what you're asking for, but she will make you look like a Marine fresh out of boot camp from the ears up, regardless of what you ask for. read more

I hate this place, a long time ago my mom would bring my sisters and I here because my mom didn't know where else to go and EVERY TIME I came, I left unsatisfied. One time they cut my bangs and for months my class mates would ask if I was trying to look like Dora the explorer. I hate the fact that they talk in their language because I can't understand what they're saying or if they're talking about me. A long time ago my sister was getting her hair cut and she chose a picture from a magazine. When the "Hair dressers" saw the picture my sister chose they burst out laughing and pointing at the magazine while looking at my sister. Obviously by the way they were talking to each other they were making jokes. Maybe if they would actually listen to me and what I want I wouldn't be so unhappy. I don't understand why every time I go here and I ask for shoulder length hair and point it out they literally cut it just under my ears (which is NOT shoulder length) They should have a rule that employees can't speak another language while they're working because it makes customers like me feel irritated and it isn't professional at all. I've been taking my son here for the last 8 years for his hair cut. Kathy does a great job but there are 2 other ladies and 1 Gentleman here that do the job as great as Kathy. Very friendly staff! My son (as boys are usually are) is very picky with the type of hair cut he wants. When he says "Boys Trim short" THIS place always gets the "shortness" the way he wants it. I took him to 3 different places before when This place was too busy or closed and all 3 times, he complained that his hair was too short. Fair Oaks Barber cuts his hair just the way he likes it and as much as possible, he doesn't want me to take him anywhere else. The place itself is not too attractive and if you don't live around the area, it's an easy miss. My son is now a teen-Ager and his taste in hair style is starting to change but so far, Fair Oaks Barber have not disappointed him or me (since I'm the one paying). It is worth the $11. The only downside I think is, they turned me away 2x already because we came 30 mins before closing time and they only had 1 customer left. I thought we made it just in time. I've been cutting my hair here for the last 5 years but my hair just looked okay. But when I came here last month , a new young lady who came with a nice smiling face and she asked if I wanted her to cut my hair. At first I was a little worried because she is new but after she done cutting my hair..OMG!... my hair was "Perfect!". For a long time no one has cutting my hair that good. It looks so shaft and clean and she kept the length that I wanted. I was so happy to asked and found out that her name was BRITTANY . I like the way Brittany cut my hair...she was very careful in every cut and her attitude was very professional. I'll come again for a great haircut from Brittany and highly recommended her. For $9 (plus tip) you get a consistently good haircut. For this, I give them 5 stars (value rating). If you want something special, unusual, or more complicated than a simple cut then I'm not sure if this is your place (it may still be, I just can't comment). I also give them 5 stars for friendliness. Their decor would probably get them 2 stars but I don't go for that. They also do not offer you a glass of chardonnay while you wait.
