His input saved my marriage and got me over a number of hurdles in my life. Besides those events, he keeps me on an even keel. I've seen him alone, but he also does couples therapy and interventions with difficult relatives. Besides Mark, I've also heard that there are several other therapists at Wave that do a good job as they are thoroughly vetted before being taken on. I highly recommend Wave Therapy.

My teenage son completed the intake process, submitted all of the required paperwork, and was matched with a therapist. His therapist, Joshua, was kind, professional, and had already begun building a trusting relationship with my son. Unfortunately, we were later told that we could not continue services unless I provided two credit cards to be kept on file for potential cancellation or no-show fees. To be clear, I have no problem paying a missed appointment fee if one is owed. My concern was with authorizing automatic charges to my account. As a disabled Medi-Cal recipient living on a limited income, an unexpected charge could create financial hardship. I offered to sign a promise-to-pay agreement instead, but was told there were no exceptions. As a result, my son lost the therapist he had already begun to trust and now has to start over with a new provider. My frustration is not with Joshua or the staff who communicated the policy--they were courteous and professional. My concern is with a policy that, in my experience, created a barrier to care after treatment had already begun. I hope Wave Therapy considers alternatives for Medi-Cal and low-income families so that other children don't have to lose access to therapy for this reason.

I called in to CHE everyday for 2 months and they assured me someone would get back to me. NOBODY GOT BACK TO ME. Seriously. Run away from this place…read more Don't even bother to make an appointment because they don't show up. On 12/9/23, I had an appointment with Ira Landau. He didn't show up for the appointment at all. He called me several days after to reschedule my appointment. There was no explanation given, nor was there an apology for having wasted my time. After I asked him about his absence did he say that he was ill. I understand that things happen so I rescheduled. After having thought about it, I decided to cancel my appointment with him. He emailed me to find out why. I told him that his lack of respect for me and my time was evident, and I don't feel comfortable working with a therapist who doesn't respect me. He then wrote back in a rather passive aggressive way by 1) misspelling my name when he correctly spelled it in a previous email and 2) tried to gaslight me by saying that he told me on the phone that he had a concussion and therefore was not thinking about his clients at the time. I have the call recorded when he said that he fell ill, not that he had a concussion. Oddly, his stories keep changing so that he wouldn't have to take responsibility for his lack of respect. Everyone makes mistakes, but don't be dishonest about it. Mistakes I can accept. Dishonesty I cannot. Either way, I did not appreciate the passive aggressive and manipulative nature of the communication so I ignored it. I reached out to their scheduling service and made another appointment with a different therapist. Wouldn't you know it? My new therapist ALSO did not show up for my appointment. The utter lack of respect from this company and their therapists is unprofessional and appalling. Interestingly, they have a strict fee based policy for clients not showing up. What happens when their therapists do not show up? What kind of compensation do I get for them having wasted my time? It is now a total of TWO hours of my time that I will not get back simply because I have spent it waiting on their employees.
