Seriously. Run away from this place.
Don't even bother to make an appointment because they don't show up.
On 12/9/23, I had an appointment with Ira Landau. He didn't show up for the appointment at all. He called me several days after to reschedule my appointment. There was no explanation given, nor was there an apology for having wasted my time. After I asked him about his absence did he say that he was ill. I understand that things happen so I rescheduled. After having thought about it, I decided to cancel my appointment with him. He emailed me to find out why. I told him that his lack of respect for me and my time was evident, and I don't feel comfortable working with a therapist who doesn't respect me.
He then wrote back in a rather passive aggressive way by 1) misspelling my name when he correctly spelled it in a previous email and 2) tried to gaslight me by saying that he told me on the phone that he had a concussion and therefore was not thinking about his clients at the time. I have the call recorded when he said that he fell ill, not that he had a concussion. Oddly, his stories keep changing so that he wouldn't have to take responsibility for his lack of respect.
Everyone makes mistakes, but don't be dishonest about it. Mistakes I can accept. Dishonesty I cannot.
Either way, I did not appreciate the passive aggressive and manipulative nature of the communication so I ignored it.
I reached out to their scheduling service and made another appointment with a different therapist.
Wouldn't you know it? My new therapist ALSO did not show up for my appointment. The utter lack of respect from this company and their therapists is unprofessional and appalling.
Interestingly, they have a strict fee based policy for clients not showing up. What happens when their therapists do not show up? What kind of compensation do I get for them having wasted my time? It is now a total of TWO hours of my time that I will not get back simply because I have spent it waiting on their employees. read more
