This review is long overdue. I have such a deep gratitude for the work of John as he worked (virtually) with my son during school closures. I reached out when I felt our son needed someone to talk to about his feelings as he was separated from friends and sports, and overwhelmed with online learning. John was absolutely the best! Since John works with kids, he had a program suited for the pre-teen age group and their emotional needs/communication that didn't feel "childish" to my 10 y/o. After about 2 weeks (1 session a week) , our family dynamic changed for the better. And the next time we saw family, they commented on my son's maturity and communication style being leaps beyond previous encounters. As parents we want to be able to provide everything our kids need, but leaning on a caring outsider like John to provide guidance felt like we invested in our child's well being for life.! read more

Where do I start? Several years ago I started seeing Katie to help process a recent break-up. During our time together, the elements of my childhood and adolescence that needed healing revealed themselves. The transformation that has taken place in my life has been amazing. I feel like clouds (that I didn't even know were there) have parted and I there's so much sunshine in my life. What I especially love about Katie is her ability to stay unbiased while remaining gentle, encouraging, and completely nonjudgemental. She has been a gift. We usually hold our sessions via phone or Skype, but occasionally when I'm in the area I try to come into the office for some face to face time. Katie is a wonderful therapist. Since the moment that I met her, I knew she was the one that I wanted to work with. She is kind, patient and insightful. I wanted to work with someone who has dealt with incest survivors. She gets us. She can put a tangible reason to why some of our behaviors occur. This is very important to understand the "why" behind the behavior. She works to help you through the process. After being an incest survivor for many years, it is nice to know that it is normal to go in for a tune up. Katie helps me to feel "normal" adult with an very "abnormal" childhood. When I first found Katie it was like pulling teeth to get me to come as I think many people are reluctant to give therapy a go. I had worked with a psychologist previously who passed away followed by another psychologist who was extremely critical. However, working with Katie has been a divine intervention of sorts. I found Katie about a year ago after deciding that I wanted to deal with issues I'd been struggling with for many years. I felt ready to find better ways to cope with negative feelings and wanted to see myself in a more positive light. When i contacted Katie, I was searching for someone older to work with, someone more my own age, but after a long telephone conversation, we decided that we'd like to meet and possibly work together. Katie was quick to let me know that she understood why I was thinking in terms of an older counselor and encouraged me to be honest if i felt we were not a good fit. The subject never came up again.
