I have used this company twice for my 2400 sq ft second home which is mostly carpeted and seldom used. They charge a lot of money for a very average job where I have to go in and clean things after them. What they don't seem to like doing is clean floors. I took this picture of a swiffer after they supposedly cleaned our laundry room vinyl floor. They also left general filth in the sliding door. We were supposed to move in to our new house and found out that the house was TRASHED. I called Jani at Alpenglow Cleaning 12 hours before move in day and she moved mountains and worked miracles. She was responsive, decisive, and extremely organized. She came and walked the house first thing move in day morning and started to bag up everything even before her cleaning team was supposed to show up. Her attention to detail and team's thorough cleaning literally left me teary -eyed because they saved the day. Called today and got the most sass I have ever experienced from someone trying to sell me something. The entire convo made me feel awkward and off-put. Really was hoping for the best, saw a few bad reviews but some really good ones as well. We never got started, said she lives on Donner Lake so i thought great fit. Well we drive an hour and a half to meet her, she then says she cant provide service in the winter because of snow and the road on south shore. I would not recommend Alpenglow cleaners. After moving everything out of my 750 sq foot apartment, I had them clean before the official move out date. The cleaner showed up at ~2:30 pm, and I was told she would be there at 10:30 am. After 4 hours of cleaning, the cleaner said that the hard work was done (kitchen and half the bathroom), and that she could stop if we had a budget. I said she could finish cleaning, which she said would take another 3 hours. When I got into the apartment, the baseboards, which I specifically asked to be cleaned, were dirty, and the floors were not even swept. I had to buy a broom to sweep the apartment the next day. When my landlord inspected the apartment for move out about a week after Alpenglow cleaned, he had to clean the apartment and charged us cleaning fees. The apartment was completely vacant between Alpenglow's cleaning and his cleaning, so it was just as the cleaner had left it. read more

I have a home in Tahoe Donner that my friends and family use very often. We also rent it sometimes. Alpenglow has been the best cleaning service I have found so far in Truckee It is very easy to schedule them, and make extra requests. What I also appreciate is that they will always inform me when I am running out of inventory. I also have asked them to pick up wine bottles, and a few special things for my guests if it's for special occasions. They charge for it but it has made a huge difference in me able to host with a personal touch. At the end of my ski lease (April 2019), I used Alpenglow Cleaning for the first time and I was very pleased with the results. My WiFi-garage-door-opener and nanny-cam confirmed that Alpenglow's 3-person-crew arrived on-time and billed me for the correct number of hours. (Many cleaning services lie about the number of cleaning-hours, thereby essentially stealing from you.) The number of hours billed was reasonable for the work done. My landlord and I were pleased with the quality of the ski-lease-end cleaning. Alpenglow's owner, Jani, does a great job making the business run smoothly with Internet-age convenience. Jani and her office-manager responded promptly to my calls or emails, and were pleasant & helpful. The Alpenglow website http://alpenglowcleaning.com provides detailed information, including a checklist menu whereby you check-off the stuff that you want done (or not-done) so that there are no mismatched expectations. That's smart. Alpenglow also has a nice Quickbooks-based invoicing & billing system so you can pay online or with a check. Jani runs the business exactly like I've been wanting someone to run a cleaning service in Truckee. It's a very welcome change of pace from the many flaky, dishonest cleaning services in Truckee. I'm not going to give them a negative review because they never cleaned for me, but I contacted them and was advised to fill out all their paperwork online which I did When I didn't hear back, I contacted them and got a reply that they were busy and that the estimator would contact me. Shortly thereafter I got a email saying they weren't accepting new clients. I understand how difficult it must be to find staff, but it would have been nice to be cut off before I filled everything out and then waited several days for a reply. Crooks! I just received an invoice for $140 for services rendered months ago which I paid in cash that day upon completion of cleaning. I only needed them for 1 hour and was quoted $40 for 1 hour. They never mentioned it was $40/hour per cleaning person so when they showed up with 3 cleaning ladies, I was completely surprised to pay $140 for 1 hour of light cleaning. I called to complain but it didn't resolve anything. Now, months later, I receive an invoice for something I was already ripped off by paying only for them to rip me off again. This company really let me down, cost me a good repeat renter and a bunch of money. I was looking for a good reliable cleaning service for my vacation home in Northstar, and read good things about this company, so I gave them a call and talked to Jani, the owner who directed me to the new customer info sheet on the website which I filled out completely. Then I emailed Jani and also spoke to her on the phone to confirm and schedule a cleaning service within a two day window between renter's departure and arrival. She assured me that they could be there on one of the two days scheduled and that it would be no problem. Great...we're all set...except that they never showed up to clean the house!!! Three days later I get a call from my new renters who have just arrived to find a dirty house!!! Needless to say, this company really let me down. I've used this company about 5-6 times and 3 have been poor, so I'm writing to explain, as I would want to hear this. My house is on Donner Summit and one of the most important things you have to do before you leave is drain your water during the winter season. Jani's team came over, turned on the water since I was not up, cleaned the house amazingly, but forgot to turn the water back off. I let her know and she apologized profusely. Next time, I scheduled with her I reminded her that the water was left on last time and how important it is that it gets turned off. I was assured that was a mistake that will never happen again, since they live in the area and know how important turning the water off is. Surprise, surprise, the water was left on AGAIN! So angry, and I got more apologies. So I decided to follow a friend's advice, which was to only have them come up the day of or the day before I was coming home, so that if the water was left on, it would be no big deal. 2 more times with a clean house, price went up from $150 to $175, but I didn't say anything, because it's been about a year and I was ok. However this past holiday I had her come, and they charged $225!! From $150 in a couple months?!?? I asked Jani to explain how it could go up so much.... there is no way that it could take 6hours to clean my 2:2 house (just normal cleaning, nothing crazy... no laundry, beds needing to be made or sheets cleaned... just vacuum, and bathrooms/kitchens). She has NEVER responded. I've followed back up twice and she still has yet to respond to her poor business practice. read more

We've used them numerous times trying to give the benefit of the doubt However, they aren't that thorough, they miss things completely and repeatedly, and they may or may not arrive on time - you might be waiting a few hours. Alpenglow Cleaning came recommended from a neighbor who told me that they do a great job if you're there to supervise them. They do an excellent job cleaning kitchens and a good job cleaning bathrooms. I had to ask several weeks in a row for more thoroughly mopped floors, however, as it appeared that they only spot cleaned. The owner was unfortunately rude in response to my communication with her. Many times I would not receive an invoice for cleanings, but would receive an invoice for them later with a note telling me that they were "STILL due." I was also billed twice for cleanings that I had already paid. My advice is to be extremely mindful of the invoice numbers, dates, and payment amounts to avoid any confusion from their poor record-keeping. read more
