We followed a map to find Dole Whip in Waikiki and found this tiny store inside a hotel by the zoo. The clerk was very pleasant but it was a very tiny cup of whip for a pretty high price. (higher than typical Hawaii prices). It's the only please that we could find it without driving to the North Shore, though. read more

I bought a couple of slushies for my sons - $4.75 for each slushie, and it tasted like syrup (since it's made with 100% syrup lol). Very delicious sweet (COLD) treats! Aloha Whip is located inside the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, near the side facing the Honolulu Zoo. They are open DAILY from 11am-8pm. Yes! No spots to sit, just order, pay, grab your goodies and be on your way - you can enjoy your refreshing sweets in the spacious and beautiful hotel lobby, or better yet, bring it back to the beach! They sell juices, pineapple cups, and the ever-so-famous Dole Whip. Yum!! It did taste just a tad different to me than the Dole Pineapple Plantation version, but still delicious and so refreshing. They also sell some small gift items and even sell fresh orchid leis for $9 each. For treats, prices range from $4.75 (Dole Whip or Hawaiian Frost regular cup) to $6.50 (Fresh Pineapple or Passion Orange Guava Slush Float.) I wish we had tried this as well. Time escaped though. But I definitely recommend this place; try it at least once, especially if you're already staying at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel anyway. The young man who helped us was very nice; he even put a lid on one of our Dole Whips because we said we were taking it to the beach (down the street,) but I asked him to not put a lid on mine because I wanted that big pretty swirl, esp for pics. I've been waiting months to finally try this place since I'm from the mainland. The pictures on IG make it look so good! To start off... this little shop is located in the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Kinda hard to find but you immediately turn left once you enter. Once I got to the counter it was one of those awkward moments where you expect the person working to say hi right away but they don't... so I just said hi. I ordered the strawberry whip and asked if it could be mixed with the dole whip. I guess the person working didn't hear me so she gave me just strawberry. I politely told her that I wanted strawberry and dole whip so she immediately went back, dumped the strawberry back in, and gave me pineapple whip on top of some Of the strawberry. At this point, it just didn't look presentable. And when I asked the worker to fix it, she didn't say anything like "oh yeah I can do that for you" or anything like that so it made me feel like she was annoyed that she got my order wrong. To the flavors... the pineapple whip is good, although not as good as dole whip from the plantation. And the strawberry had a daiquiri taste to it which I don't prefer. She said "oh this is a large which is 9.75 and sprinkles is an extra dollar. Do you want a regular size instead?" So I said yes. The "regular" was barely bigger than those mini cups you use when you brush your teeth. It's tucked inside the newly renovated Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Aloha Whip is on your left, right after the stairs as you enter from Kapahulu Avenue. There's also snacks and small gifts to go along with their slushes and soft serve. I tried their POG (passion orange guava) slush float. It's Dole Whip with POG slush. I liked that the combination of the slush and dole whip wasn't too sweet. It was well balanced and perfect for a hot day. Parking is a little tricky. You can find street parking or park in the lot across the street at the zoo. The service was nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend giving it a try! read more

Workers are nice here but let me tell you as someone who lives in Hawaii and who's house you can see on the dole plantation train tour: this tastes NOTHING like Dole Whip. The texture, the taste, it's not good and doesn't even slightly resemble dole whip. My 9 year old and my 14 year old ate less than half and then threw it away. The cost up front for one dole whip is probably less than a $1 for the business. You can invest 20 more cents/cup for infinitely more interesting presentation.
