I'll start with this... I did not hire Aloha Pools for my project. They were professional, prompt, and provided a great design for my small yard. I chose to sign a contract based more on overall cost and familiarity with another company. Initially called to get a bid. Met in person and described what I was looking for. They delivered an excellent design that was was a more creative use of space than most other companies. Their overall design included lots of retaining walls and landscaping that was not included in the contest price but would have made for a lovely backyard oasis. They were timely in response to my initial communication and delivered the design earlier than promised. Ultimately, I decided on a company I'd done work with before but I know Aloha would have been a great company to select as well. 5-stars - I couldn't go there just based on contract price being a little higher than the competition and we ultimately got our dream pool for about $8000 less than what Aloha was charging. Again, I'm sure the value is there as they delivered at every interaction. read more

I started the process in March of 2020 by getting quotes from 11 different pool companies within the area. Most had a great pitch, some never showed and one highly recognized company lost my email in the junk folder. Mark was just a straight up honest guy that told it like it is and didn't sell me fluff. Fortunately I wasn't in a rush with the Corona buyers so I had flexibility and time. Price - His price was comparable to the majority of other quotes. You get what you pay for. My learned lesson is to beware of builders that are too cheap or way over priced. Communication - Absolutely top notch!! He always had me plugged into the building phase. Whenever I had a question, he always replied In 10-15 minutes. Work - Also top notch!! From start to finish his crew did a great job. Any concerns that I had were immediately addressed. Suppliers - Although Aloha does have a preferred supplier, talk with Mark and let him know if you already have another supply company in mind. They worked with us and our preference. Payment - NO DOWN PAYMENT AT ALL!! Our first payment was only after the completion of phase 1 and with our approval. From what I came to understand, some companies ask for an upfront down payment, in reality this is to fund other projects and it's not going to your build. read more

I did not hire Mark at Aloha Pools to build me a pool, but he was very prompt and responsive to give me advice about how to get an existing pool permitted with Riverside County Building department, when that original permit expired 2018, and was never closed out. (previous seller didn't want a pool fence, so signed a waiver of release of liability with the pool builder, to not complete the pool fence that was required for issuing closed permit). I want the pool to be permitted for legal reasons. Mark gave me advice on who to contact with the County of Riverside, and what they would do to make it happen. I left messages about this issue with other pool builders before, but no one got back to me, but Mark. read more

Each Monday and more often if necessary, I received a text from Mark with the construction schedule for the week. I always knew who was going to be in my yard and when. Where do I start? This is one of those times I really wish I could give more stars than 5! I was nervous about building a pool. I thought the undertaking of a construction project this large would be stressful. Especially after the first couple estimates I had- contractors not showing up on time or even at all, contractors not getting back to me at all after coming out to estimate, etc. Thankfully at that point a friend referred me to Aloha. The owner, Mark, personally came out to do the estimate. By the next day he had emailed me the quote and the rough design. We immediately decided to choose Aloha based on Mark's professionalism, courtesy, and cost, which was very reasonable. From that point on it was smooth sailing. Some of the things that made the experience so great were: -Everything happened when Mark said it would happen. Either he or his workers showed up when they said they would- no waiting around for anyone! -The price was the price from the beginning. Other than if you choose to upgrade or add extra stonework, nothing in the price changed. No bait and switch, at all. -His work is GORGEOUS. His portfolio is impressive and I will attach a picture of my completed pool. -All of the workers sent to my house were equally courteous, professional, friendly, hardworking, and great at what they do. -Mark is extremely knowledgeable, and uses only top notch, newest technology, on all materials, supplies, equipment, etc. I frequently had questions and concerns regarding the process, the safety, the materials, etc.. he always explained things very thoroughly and set my mind at ease. I called to inquire with aloha for a pool quote. I had previously worked with this company and had a great experience with them in building our fire pit. I inquired on August 8 for an appointment... Aug 10 I received a response. Their first appointment was not until September. I agreed... 9/20 came around and no one showed up for the appointment! 2 hours after the appointment time, I sent a follow up email in regards to missing the appointment. A few hours later I received a response on the error with apologies. Although I understand errors happen, if you can't schedule and keep an appointment correctly, how are you going to be able to build my pool in a timely manner? First part of the year 2018 Aloha Pool & Design finished up my pool and Jacuzzi before summer. This was great. They met their timeline and I was happy with the process. First off Mark listened to what I wanted and gave good feedback of what i wanted feedback on for the design. I feel they came back with a good proposal. I reached out to four other companies to get competitive designs and pricing. When the process started Mark was quick with the communication and answering my questions all through the process. he was proactive in telling me whcih contractors will come out and do what. If they couldn't make it he let me know. I really appreciated being informed every step of the way. Also, there were some changes during the process and he was very reasonable and gave me a heads up before hand what he can change and what he would have to charge me for. I live in a new community and one of my nieghbors started before I did and mine was finished before his. Also, another big item was that doing my research I was confused if I shoud go with a salt water pool or OZone. Ozone was talked up by some companies staying it's muc healthier. Speaking to Mark and Mike who does the finishing touches discussed that in their oppinion OZone isn't their yet. Looking on youtube and reading articles I wasn't hesitant but took their word. I'm glad I did. My nieghbors that put in Ozone still use chlorine tablets. OZone seems to be a bit of BS, at this stage. read more

There were so many mistakes that I brought to Mark and his contractors attention and all he did was make excuses for them. Mark only came by when it was time time to collect a check.
