It is a first come first served basis for safety check and usually not a long wait unless you go on the last couple days of the month. It is located at the corner or Ward Avenue and Queen Street. To get your safety check, you pull into the farthest lane closest to the cashier attendant facing the mountain just beside the first gas pumps. A employee comes out and goes through the tests that he needs to check. Once he is done, you go inside to pay for it. Then he comes out, takes a few photos and places your new safety check onto your vehicle. If you want your old safety check removed, you will need to do it yourself which is no problem for me. The service is very quick and takes no more than 10-15 minutes. The cost is $26.

Located on the right side of King Street, before Straub Hospital and Clinic, Hele Gasoline posted $4.43 per gallon for cash purchases. Because I have the Hele app, I went inside the attached convenience store, paid cash on a weekend, and got 25 cents off of the Credit Card price ($4.28 per gallon, instead of $4.53 per gallon). The cashier was friendly and helpful! He scanned the barcode on my phone (after he waited patiently for me to get my phone from the car... LOL!) The store was clean, bright, and tidy! This shell is right on a super busy intersection of South Beretania and McCully just before the overpass to enter H1 and have been a pit stop of mine for various reasons. The convenience of a separate area for air and vacuum, free use of squeegee, a convenient store filled with just about everything including an ATM or just to grab some gas because I've neglected to fill before I start my journey. Along with their current early bird promotion of a free 12oz coffee with any fill up of 8 gallons or more from 6am to 8am daily they also partnered with T-Mobile of $0.15 off per gallon considering the price for a regular was at $4.799 (as of Oct 29, 2023) every bit counts. Keith seems to be the only guy working here. There's a gal in the convenience store that handles the gas dispensers. She told me that Keith will be right with me. I think Keith took a car around the block for a spin. Then he had to attend to a guy that maybe had a serious problem. When Keith had time, I asked him to check my oil level since the indicator light flashed on. He asked me to move my car closer. I had parked on the other side of the building because the right side was filled with vehicles. Eventually, he got to me, turned on the ignition and saw the indicator light. He popped the hood, whipped out the oil stick and showed me that the level was fine. He said the light could have been triggered by the oil not circulating... or other reasons. Hmmm... Ok... At least I had enough oil! I appreciate his quick diagnosis - especially because I was a walk-in and an unknown...

So yesterday my husband took them dow to 76 Gas station on N.School Street to get the new tire mounted. It was between 6:45-7:00 am in the morning. There were two guys there helping someone filling up gas. No other customers were on site nor was any vehicles in the shop area and so my husband asked if he could get the old tire removed and new one minter. My husbands's first job was working in a gas station so he knew going in that it only takes three minutes to do. But when he asked, the two guys looked at each other, hesitated for a moment then said oh no we're are very busy today. He said it would only take a few minutes and would be willing to pay, but they said they were too busy and told him to take it to Firestone. We ended up taking it to another small automotive shop near by. Who did it in 2 minutes for $40.00 and got a $10.00 tip. Sorry to say but one small act of kindness from a small automotive shop has now gained the business from a five car family at the loss of 76 gas station on N. School Street.
