They were busy but they started on me first, hubs had to wait an additional 15-20", he was ok with that. You can get a great pedicure here no doubt. Here is the issue, not getting the pedicure with who you've scheduled because they take a walk-in they know OR worse have you wait over a half an hour when you've made an appointment. Guessing the wait was also because they took a walk in but that is just a guess. Just do not recommend if you have a schedule you need to adhere to. read more

I really wanted to like Aloha Nail -- it's local and seemed friendly at first. Unfortunately, my experience was really disappointing. I got a Gel X full set done by Tina (the owner), and within just a few hours they all started lifting and falling off. I've had Gel X before at other salons and they've lasted 2-3 weeks easily, so I knew something wasn't right. When I reached out to let Tina know, instead of offering to refund me like I asked (because I have a baby and its not easy for me to just come in to fix) or even showing concern, she immediately blamed me and said I must be "picking them off." That was frustrating and honestly a little insulting. I paid $84 with tip for nails that didn't even last 6 hours-- and to be blamed on top of that felt really unprofessional. She blamed me and said i picked them all off. I rarely write negative reviews, but I hope this helps others make an informed decision. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're expecting quality and accountability. I don't like writing reviews but so many people reached saying they had the same experience. People should know. I also have texts between us showing how she blamed me. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because their staff was awesome, I came in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I brought my 2 year old with me and they were awesome and overly accommodating which was more than appreciated. However negatively, my nails have already begun chipping, I can tell my gel isn't going to last more than a day it's only been a few hours and one nail is almost all the way off and the second is on its way out. The pedicure was mediocre, two seconds of callous removal I was going to upgrade to add callous removal but when I saw how little effort I didn't want to pay the extra for no reason not was I asked. And there wasn't even cuticle oil added at any point in either service. I'm writing this review so that these things hopefully don't go unnoticed. I spent $100 when the quality of service was $50 at best but the workers were awesome so I don't want to leave a low star review and hurt business. read more

I made an appointment for gel nail removal. My person removed the gel polish by GRINDING the fingernails all the way down to where my nails are now sore, cracked & bleeding . She took the nails off! I was expecting gel nail removal and foil. This burr grinder torture cost an additional $10. A couple of my nails have split down the middle and bleeding constantly. I question what she was doing and she said this was a quick way. She was very upset when questioning her technique. She was also most definitely only interested in what was on the TV and not really paying attention to what she was doing. Definitely do not recommend. Hopefully I do not have future medical bills as nails are very bad. read more

We got lucky when we called in last minute to see if they could fit us in for 2 pedicures. The shop was located very close to our hotel in Kapaa in a little shopping complex with like 2-3 other businesses. There is parking available in front of the shop. We walked in and they were able to sit us down right away. They have their nail polish selection available on a false nail binder with a number next to it for easy selecting. My husband loves getting his nails painted so we got matching silver glitter polish. A young gal and gentleman did my nails. I was super happy with my service, usually when a man does my pedicure it's never consistently good and the polish always ends up my skin. That was not the case here, the gentleman who did my nails did an amazing job and after hiking secret falls and kalalau trail just 2 days before I was so happy to see my feet look beautiful and human like again! I am a visitor to the island and chose Aloha nails for a gel pedicure. I can only say that the person who gave me my pedicure did not strive to do their best. The angle of the nails is uneven and sloppy, and they focused more on foot massage than uniformity of my toenails, and I wound up with bruised big toe, from the deep massage... it looks awful. read more

I was able to get an appointment same day with a very nice man. I was embarrassed that I had such dirty toenails but I had done a very muddy hike to Secret Falls and had cleaned them the best I could. I apologized ahead of time. The polish seemed to be done nicely but upon further inspection he had not cleaned around the nailbed very well. I could see dirt. After I thought about it, I realized he did not really get any of the dead skin off either. I usually enjoy the massaging in of the lotion, but he was kind of heavy handed and hurt me a little bit. The polish was chipping within days, and I can usually go without chips until the grow out makes it clear I need to get a pedicure. About a month. I really hate to give a bad review. But, I hate for others to get the same bad service even more. read more

No!!! Do not go here! I called several days in advance for an appointment. When I walked in the male that works there walked past me. No eye contact. Then the lady at the front counter to left just stared at me. I had to let her know I had an appointment. She said, "ok, pick color." Didn't direct me as to where the colors were. I flipped through the 30 colors and didn't really care for any of them. 0 selection for colors! So after being rushed to pick, I just politely asked for white. As she was painting my nails, she left this huge gap in between the nail and cuticle. The way she was painting them, it already looked like I needed a fill. I asked if she could paint closer to the cuticle, and she had a reason why she didn't want to, but I couldn't really hear it because she was talking on the phone. She finished my fill (acrylic) in 33 minutes. A few of my nails were very crooked and I asked her if she could please straighten them out. She did, in about 10 seconds, with an attitude. She was very disconnected and NOT friendly at all. I felt like I was just another number. I asked her if she could put some sparkle on top of the white, and as you can see in the photos, you can barely see anything. She then said, "go wash your hands." After I washed my hands, I noticed a lot of discolor underneath the nails. I ask her if she could please touch them up. She gave me a dirty look and told me to sit and brushed over both hands for a total of 10 seconds. Save your money. $$$$$$ There has to be a better nail salon in town. Or, just do your own nails. Well since my mom and my uncles girl friend where doing their nails, I figure I do mine . Alan was awesome. I have to say I'm that I won't be coming here and that they don't have this near me in California. But back to my review. We came here on a SUNDAY which in Hawaii its hard to find any thing open. Yet this place was. Since it was three of us the guy asked if we mind coming back later. My mom and uncles girlfriend saw it as a opportunity to go shopping . So we went shopping (in my case walking and watching) and we came back. As soon as we walked in , we where warmly greeted and promptly seated. I chose one color and then got shown another color and then another and I was like OMGA WHAT COLOR SHOULD I PICK???. Ended up going with one that changes color with the temperature. Alan was gentle and took his time. OMG does he have attention to detail. ( huge plus ) AAA+++ He did my Mani and Pedi. On my Mani I asked that he please not leave gaps and wala he didn't. He did an awesome job. The lady next to him was wondering why he was taking so long ( he was making sure he didn't leave any gaps) he was awesome. My mom doesn't yelp but asked me to mentioned the owner and how friendly he was. She was very pleased with how much care she took of her special request. I get Gel Manicures and she is very precise and takes time to make sure the job is done right. The place is clean and does not smell like acetone like most nail studios. No... just NO Not a welcoming friendly experience. I had confirmed the appointment time on phone two times. Arrived to be ignored, not acknowledged for my 3:30 appointment. So I took a seat thinking they're just finishing up and will be a few minutes late. After waiting about 20 minutes it was clearly evident they would not be able to see me for a good while.
