Just like contractors, it's pretty tough finding a good Handyman. One without ripping you off or doesn't keep their promises. Not only Richie is great, he's exceptional. Never thought I would ever utilize this word for a contractor or handyman. I don't bother rating anyone if they are under 5 stars. $imply because it's not worth my time and time is $$$$$. Here's why Richie deserves my time: Service: 5 stars Price: 5 Stars Honesty: 5 Stars Punctuality: 5 Stars Go out of his way to save you money by saving your old parts: 5 Stars Highly recommend Richie before you call your next handyman. Honestly, can't get better than Richie. It's a promise. One word to describe Richie: WOW! read more

I called Ritchie to remove and replace a defective kitchen sink facuet and to reattach the overhead microwave door. We discussed the project and set a date and time for him to do the project. He called about an hour before the appointment to be sure that I still needed his services and to advise that would be there in about an hour....right on time. He reviewed the project and got to work. First to repair the microwave door. I could figure out how to remove the door so as to get to the loose handle Ritchie quickly removed the door and removed the plastic surround and exposed the missing (lose screw rattling around inside the door). A few moments later, the door handle was completely fixed and back in operation. Just like new!! On to the faucet. What looked and seemed like a standard remove/replace turned out to be a tough one. Over the years the calcium deposit in the water "welded" itself to the screw and the plastic retaining nut. No matter how hard he turned it or banged it with a hammer would it release. He told a drill and drilled a hole in the plastic retainer then fabricated a makeshift very small saw to saw the retainer off the screw which finally allowed Ritchie to remove the faucet! At that point he discovered that the water lines coming from the house water were a different size than the water lines provided with the new faucet. Off to the hardware store he went to get the correct adapters do finish the job. It was not a easy task and a lot of others might have complained about all the extra work needed than originally thought! Not Ritchie,,,he willingly kept at it until the job was complete and I was happy. I will not hesitate to use Aloha Handyman for any odd jobs that I might have in the future. I've already recommended him to my neighbor and I highly recommend him to you too! Thanks Ritchie----Well done! read more

I have been using Aloha Handyman for a few years now and his work product is excellent. He does not "sub" out any of his projects so not having different people coming to the house is a plus. Very personable and friendly. read more

Ritchie came into our shop and was all smiles and brought a really great vibe into the atmosphere. We called him to set up shelving for our sales here at our computer repair la habra store. He knocked out the job in a great time frame, and was the most professional, affordable and precise handyman we have ever had in here. No matter what I need in the future whether it be installing shelves, fixing doors, or building things for my business Aloha Handyman is the only way I will go from now on! read more

I found Richie through Yelp and asked him to come out for a quote on a few different tasks on our home. He was very professional in his quote and offered a fair price so we decided to work with him. I Richie could have not done a better job with what we asked him to do. He was even able to put toegther a chicken coop for my wife. Besides his professional skill, I was impressed by his desire to not only do the job correctly but to make sure the customer was happy with his job. He explained what he was doing and let us test out the finished product before moving on. In addition, he was very kind to my young son and greeted me as I arrived home. I look forward to working with him on future jobs. read more

I got quoted a price of $285.00 to install a very small 6000 BTU air conditioner in a bedroom window. This is one of the smallest units you can buy at at Home Depot. The air conditioner cost $169.00 and comes with installation bracket. My other quote, from a competitor in the same area, is $75.00. Beware!!! read more

Got tried of waiting so I book with someone else and end up being cheaper. I had an appointment which was canceled due to them being behind schedule. Then they tried to squeeze me into the schedule another day and never made it. However I was introduced to a website/app called thumbtack and hired someone else that came the next day. read more

I requested a quote via Yelp. On Yelp it says 100% response rate and within 8 hours. I never received a response. I wonder how Yelp counts this 100% response rate? It is up to the owner? read more

Ritchie did some work for me over the holidays. And I must say, I was extremely happy with the results. He re faced a utility closet outside and he took his time and did an awesome job. It looks great. He even painted it. He was on time, and very professional. He even did a great job cleaning up. He did two more jobs for me. He installed a doggie door and I was impressed how it looked. Another project was a customized door stopper. Just wow. He is a great guy, and will keep him mind for my next job. Try his service. I think you will be happy. read more

I found Ritchie through a a friend. Instantly upon meeting him he was very like able, knowledgeable and thorough. I happen to take his prices and compare to others from who I had received quotes from. In all cases Ritchie was either the highest or second there. Now to the work... I have seen his work on the house in which he did for that friend of mine. Excellent. So I decided what the heck... He makes you feel like it is just the right choice regardless if you are feeling it is a bit steep in price. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!! His work is impeccable and not a single thing over looked. In fact .... You get well over your money's worth!!! He goes above and beyond what you could have even thought or wished for. He is tedious and work ethic outstanding. I will ALWAYS only use Aloha Handyman LLC/Ritchie in all things pertaining to work in my house. You get what you pay for and more. One more important fact- upon the 1st job I had to use Ritchie for.... I had to leave him alone, unattended in my house. (With my cat who is a spooked cat afraid of his own shadow.) I have never left anyone alone in my house I didn't know personally. Upon arriving home I found shoes on the porch, whistling coming from inside and I watched for about 5 minutes of this man letting my cat in and out (cat never can make up his mind) with a smile and not irritated by my cat, just a happy nice guy....and everything in my house in order and his work area cleaned!!! How awesome can this guy be??? The work????? Wow. Talk about a guy who respects his profession and what others think :) There is no other way to say it- Ritchie isTHE BEST and well worth every job he sets those blessed hands to. No need to look any further people... This is your guy. Definitely my handyman for life!! read more

We found Richie, the Aloha Handyman, on yelp and decided to call him based on his reviews. He came out same day to our rental in La Puente to look at our broken fence. I was looking for a go-to guy to work on the house and saw Aloha on yelp and said I'll try this out. I have to say Richie (the Aloha Handyman) is an expert in his craft. He restored all my windows, doors, glass, and sills even better than their original condition! Very knowledgable in his field. He is very observant and finds things one may not notice. He will provide you with options and solutions before moving forward along any project. Very easy to work with and he will work with your schedule. Prices are very reasonable. I didn't know what to expect at first, but after he was done, quality says it all. It is evident that he takes great pride in his work and it definitely shows. I highly recommend the Aloha Handyman to anybody. He is definitely my go-to guy! read more

Ritchie was great! I'm so glad I found him on yelp. My husband and I needed some cracked tiles/grout redone, a linen closet frame replaced (also cracked) and our entry door frame replaced due to water and termite damage. Ritchie replaced/fixed all three and did so with such ease and at an affordable price. I love that his work is done so quickly and more importantly, done with care and craftsmanship. Ritchie is awesome! Super down to earth guy. I like how he shows you the progress along the way making tips and suggestions each time. Does great work and seems like an honest guy. To the other reviewer complaining about price. Here's a tip for you. Go somewhere else! Don't leave a bad review for a guy trying to make an honest wage because he chargers more than others. Ritche helped me do a lot of work at my property. It was in bad shape when I purchased it so with his help, I was able to achieve what I wanted in a short amount of time. He is very honest and will make recommendations as necessary. He will also let you know if he can't do the job since it isn't his specialty and I really appreciate that. For instance, he recommended a carpet guy to stretch the carpet and another guy to re-glaze the bath tub. Til this day, I still call him for jobs! He is very easy to work with. read more

So I've been meaning to replace the back door of my house for years. Last month someone tried to break into the house and that was the last straw. i couldn't really afford to hire a general contractor, so I decided to try a handyman. I found Ritchie here on Yelp and decided to give him a try. Best decision I could have made. I called him and sent him some pictures (to let him see exactly what a mess of a door I had), gave me a good estimate and we set it up. I ordered the door I wanted from Home Depot and Ritchie took over from there. As I suspected, he ran into some problems. The opening and walls aren't level (what house is perfectly level in California right? Besides a new one of course). Ritchie figured out an easy solution to what could of been a bad problem. He explained to me exactly what he was going to do and I really appreciated that he did that. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule (had to be on a weekend). He just wrapped up the job and it looks great. I highly recommend Ritchie and look forward to having him do some more jobs in the future. P.S. The fact that he's a great person and has a great sense of humor was a bonus! read more
