LOVE! Great selection, super helpful staff, and affordable! Decided to stop in after picking up our snorkel rentals (shout out Auntie Snorkel!!) The staff is awesome- spent the time to take us through some recommendations based on what we were looking for. Lots of local options! We visited Maui Brewing Co earlier on our trip so we were excited to grab a few packs of those plus we tried a few Maui hard seltzers. That Coconut Hiwa is still my fav! Cheers!

Not a huge, but still a very good craft beer selection. Worth a visit if you are looking for bottled craft beers in the area.

On top of that, they operate a poke bar that is just as much their identity. This location is in Kihei in what looks like a desolate parking lot. The building looked outdated and quite frankly closed when we arrived. We opened the door to see a huge store full of different liquor options. Our main purpose was the poke bar to the left. They sell poke bowls with rice as well as fish by weight. We got an all ahi bowl ($16.99) with ahi spicy garlic, half pound of hamachi poke, and half pound of salmon poke ninja teriyaki and chili oil. The ahi spicy garlic had TONS of fried garlic; it tasted good at first but it was too much near the end. I had to remove some as we kept eating at the end. I was interested in the hamachi poke since that wasn't a common fish in poke but it was fresh. The salmon poke was another one we didn't see often, and I liked the flavor and it wasn't too spicy. This is a good spot if you're looking for lunch and also to grab some drinks for later on.

2 of 2 Yelp Reviews…read more Quality/Quantity - We are loyal regular customers. Even on the mainland, LV, etc. Today was a quick in and out visit as we just needed water (and more ice cold beer because the ones I bought from Costco are now warm). The staff was welcoming and offered to be of assistance in finding anything one was particularly looking for. This store was very clean and appealing. This convenience and souvenir store chain serves as a one-stop shop for grab-and-go food (cold and hot offerings) including drinks/liquor/ice cream, all types of souvenir island home & gifts, and many types of souvenir tchotchkes from keychains to stuffed animals. 6.22.26 UPDATE We…read moreoriginally had a disappointing experience due to slow service, limited attention from staff, and the lack of air conditioning during our visit. However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.

I've been to the Monkeypod kitchen in Ko'Olina, Oahu, and I have nothing but positives to say about that location. When my father wanted to take the family to this particular location on Maui I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we were severely let down. When we sat down, main server asked me probably 3-4 times if I wanted anything other than water, and finally I caved and got a maI tai. After I finished it, he asked me another 3-4 times if I wanted another one, despite me telling him I was good after the first one. I appreciate attentive service, but the guy was incessant and trying to upsell us. As far as dinner goes, Food started to trickle out slowly over the next 5-10 minutes, and it was clear that the kitchen wasn't organized. I ordered the bulgogi tacos, one of my favorites at the other location. Unfortunately, they were lukewarm. The worst part was, they completely forgot about my father, who only ordered fries, and when he received them, they were lukewarm, limp and soggy. After my father asked for the tab, he noticed there wasn't a mandatory tip included for the wait staff, but there was actually a separate 4% tip for the kitchen. Since when is this a thing? How about you pay your kitchen a livable wage and quit putting it on the customers? So my father refused the pre-selected 20% tip and tried to put in a "custom" tip of 16% of the bill, which when added to the 4% would have been a total of 20% - in my opinion pretty generous, considering the lackluster service. Here's where it got bad. The server was practically breathing down his neck while he entered his tip, and when he was handed the payment gizmo because it wouldn't take the tip amount, loudly exclaimed "That's not enough!" and then threw it down on the table and stormed off. How demeaning and embarrassing! Is this how you treat customers here? I helped my mortified father figure out how to make the machine accept his tip (despite my suggestion that we drop the amount down to a penny) and we left without another word. Monkeypod, shame on you for: - embarrassing my father, who is a very generous man, - employing wait staff that openly demeans their customers, - serving us mediocre, lukewarm food, - and demanding an extra 4% for the kitchen that didn't take any pride in what they made. What a shame.

We started with the spam and unagi musabi, which is cut in half and a bit messy for four to share but perfect for two. It was delicious! We also had the poke nachos which had plenty of fresh ahi piled on. My wife and I split a smash burger deluxe style--one of the best burgers I've had for a while. The boys split fish tacos, which they devoured with enthusiasm. We had two sides of fries for the four of us, which was more than enough. The server was helpful and efficient. Suggested tip is 25%, that's a huge red flag! Lahaina Brewing purchased Kohola brewing about one year ago. How I wish I had visited before that, because looking at historical Yelp reviews, the previous food offerings look SO much more interesting and were made with local and traditional products. Now what you get is $11 spam musubi, a pretzel that has both fish roe and sugary syrup on it (gross!) for $21, pseudo-Niçoise salad for $28 (WTF!), and imported shrimp cocktail for $5 a shrimp. Piss off! Even the server said it was a total rip-off. The menu is massively disappointing for those who actually have a frame of reference. Good thing we only came for beer. Tried the Kohola beer in Makawao and was very impressed. The Tall Story Pale Ale is really excellent, gold standard for pale ale, but you don't have to come here to enjoy it. Happy Hour is 2-5 p.m., $2 off Kohola draft and $4 off a glass of wine. Regular price beer is $8.50, fairly standard price. Unlike others, we had a good service experience. The ambience is comfortable, but I still would not return.
