My wife, son and I decided to try the food at El Burrito for a second time (we first tried it last…read moretime we lived in the area about 4 years ago, and vowed we would never return). So on a recent evening, we stopped in for what we thought was going to be dinner; Boy were we wrong. Before I bring you along on our journey to what was arguably the most profound bastardization of Mexican cuisine I've ever encountered, I'd like to note the staff was very pleasant and we had no issues with service. Now the "food"....where do I begin? I ordered a burrito which comes standard with what seemed to be a half gallon of melted cheese they call queso (queso simply means cheese in Spanish btw, and this melted amalgamation of horror would never be found in any real Mexican kitchen). Inside was a heaping pile of nothingness, meaning I it was filled wIth every cheap condiment(rice, beans, more rice, some more beans) and literally no steak, a truly remarkable bargain for $11.95. My wife ordered a burrito bowl, which needless to say was equally awful. The lettuce was old, the beans appeared to be mixed with super glue at a 50/50 ratio and beared no semblance to what refried beans are supposed to look or taste like, and the pork was surprisingly edible, but again severely lacking in quantity. The final and most egregious violation of hundreds of years of Mexican culture came in the form of my son's quesadilla. This was no ordinary quesadilla folks; this was something I barley have the ability to describe, but perhaps is best described by averring the same genius that wrote the original Exorcist movie would have been terrified of the thought of consuming this treacherous excuse for edible food (see picture). A floppy, greasy, and discolored tortilla enrobed a hot pile of what looked like roadkill was spackled with and overdose of the afore mentioned "queso" to form what quite possibly was the most off-putting thing I've ever laid eyes on. Again, staff was nice;no issues there. The food is GOD AWFUL and I will NEVER EVER go back.

I'll be back! I…read morepretty much try to keep up with the happenings around town, and this past Friday was no exception. I remember seeing on Facebook, MoMac Brewery advertised, B&B Boil Company as the featured food truck this past week. Super fan of seafood, the basics though... shrimp, fish, crab, scallops and not much more. B&B featured a Boil that looked divine on their FaceBook page... I was sold! I bookmarked this date and made sure I would try out this Food Truck. This was my first time ever hearing about them, so I am unsure how long they have been in existence or if they are even based out of Hampton Roads. Nevertheless, it was a little after 6 pm on Friday and I was ready to place my order. I was a little concerned, because I did not see a 'food truck' present. I figured the rain (off and on) kept them away. No worries... B&B was set up directly in front of MoMac... My daughter and I were greeted with a brief hello, nothing over the top... I asked for a menu... received a menu... My daughter and I looked over the menu and decided to share fish and fries... Two fried whiting with fries and it included their special sauce. We waited maybe 5 mins... The food was made to order... Our order was packaged to go... we already knew we would taste the food as soon as we were situated in the car. But we ate it all!!! Grace... Ate one fry... another... then another... pretty good! The fries were tasty with nothing added. Now the fish... my first thought... this is soooooooooo FRESH!! The fish was cooked to perfection!! My daughter ate most of the fries and we each had a piece of fish. We were both satisfied. We are not heavy eaters, therefore, if you are you may not want to share this meal. We opted out of receiving the bun... The special sauce was yummy too! For about 3 seconds it's spicy, but then the spice goes away... good flavor tho! I asked about the cooking oil and was told Canola Oil is used for frying. I haven't had Canola Oil in months and the thought of this perhaps upsetting my stomach, not at all. I am so looking forward to trying the crab cake next time. Keep your eye out for this company. I highly recommend you give them a try. Pricing... affordable! Quality... stellar! Have fun and enjoy life :)

I've been a loyal fan of this spot for a while, and my "usual" is almost always the Smoked Fried…read moreWings. They have an incredible flavor thanks to the dry rub seasoning. My only slight hesitation has always been that they are fried after the smoke to finish them off, but the taste usually wins me over. On this visit, however, I decided to branch out and explore the rest of the menu. It was a game-changer. The Meat Highlights Smoked Turkey (by the pound): This was a revelation. It was sliced perfectly, remarkably tender, and packed a punch of smoky flavor that you don't always get with poultry. Pork Spare Ribs: This was easily the star of the show. The cut of meat was high-quality and exceptionally tender. The Sauce Strategy What I appreciated most was the house BBQ sauce. It acted as a "punctuation" to the flavor. It enhanced the ribs without overpowering the natural smoke and seasoning. The Verdict: While the wings are a solid staple, the smoked turkey and ribs proved that this kitchen knows exactly what they're doing with a smoker. If you're looking for tender meat where the flavor speaks for itself, you can't go wrong here.

Going to give this 3 stars instead of 3.5. NO ROUNDING UP!!…read more First the positives: Friendly staff Brisket 1000/10 Pork Ribs 1000/10 PORK BELLY Burnt Ends 1000000000/10 (a lil pricey as I got these per lb) Now on to the negatives: Forgot the bread with my order Slow and antiquated ordering process. Think Morrison's Cafeteria or Picadilly. They have to cut and weigh the meat so it's a slow process. We stood behind 3 ladies for 17 minutes before we even got to place our order. Like what in the WORLD?!! Loud heavy metal music was playing. Could have been much softer so I could hear my Mom sitting 3 milliliters away from me. Pulled pork and pulled chicken both cold and dry. Had to dranch (not drench) in their house BBQ sauce. Garlic sausage - meh. I've had the jalapeno sausage at the Norfolk location and it was FIRE. DON'T BRING CASH!!
