I was passing through Novato and decided to try this poke spot. I like how there's an order sheet you fill out and hand to the cashier when you're ready rather than choose everything as they go. The price and size were average, however the fish quality was not favorable- I got the salmon and it definitely looked and tasted far from fresh, similar to grocery store sushi and the bowl was soggy with sauce. The food came out quick and the cashier was nice.

Ambiance: 3/5 Small space but clean and had cute Japanese pop art wall decor. Food: 3.5/5 I had the Wintermelon green tea with boba (no option to adjust sugar but it was perfectly not too sweet and boba was fresh and chewy). My bowl had two proteins salmon and tuna. It was filling but not the freshest fish. I thought my bowl was yummy and even had to finish the other half at home because of how full I got. Service: 2/5 I was the only customer, so I was a bit confused about having to fill out an order card. The tea I wanted was on the display menu but not listed on the card. So I had to ask for it to be added to my order.

I've been wanting to check out this spot for a while now because Poke and why not? It's pretty good. Not drop everything I'm doing and go there good but pretty good. The genius of this place is the speed. I went there with a friend and our daughters for a Daddy/Daughter double lunch date. It was a nice and clean place which is always nice. They also offer some asian snacks and noodle bowls to go. We all ordered a round of Poke Bowls and Mango Milk Tea. Both were delicious and I was amazed at the speed it came out. I got a mix of salmon and Spicy Tuna. If you like spicy food I would recommend getting a spicy sauce. Just a FYI. This place is great because it offers ALL the sides. Corn, jalapeno's, onions, etc etc. It's a nice touch. To limit mistakes I might recommend filling out the order form instead of verbally ordering. Something odd though was we got 2 boba drinks and only 1 came with ice. It wasn't a big deal but I thought that was odd. Will I go back? Absolutely. See you there!

This location had just a grand opening last October 1, 2022 about 8 days ago. It is an American-Japanese fast food as well as Bubble Tea. My son ordered me the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl with white rice. Chicken were bland and dried. For a teriyaki dish it was lacking of the sauce. For $10.95 its not worth it. The bowl was deep that contained more rice but chicken pieces were dpread out on top but not smothered with sauce. I had the Lychee Fruit Tea which tasted watered down with no lychee flavor as I expected it to have. It had a fleshy lychee fruit which tasted stale, can't taste it hmmm the lychee flavor. I hope the teriyaki will have more sauce!!!

Hot beef yakitori with sesame sauce. 1/2 rice 1/2 lettuce with other vegetables

My daughter loves their jasmine and honey boba teas (their Thai tea boba is ok - I prefer Pearl's Thai tea boba). So we decided to try their poke: Daughter said her chicken teriyaki bowl was a little dry but tasted fine. I ordered the hot beef yakitori poke with 1/2 rice 1/2 lettuce and additional veggies with sesame sauce. When I opened the container I was surprised to see ramen on top. Upon closer inspection, this was the "beef" fat. I separated the fat from the very thinly sliced beef (pictures attached) and it was about 10% meat and 90% fat!! The taste is fine, but "WHERE'S THE BEEF??"

Why was my bowl 1/3 FU:LL of Edamame???

I am so disappointed! We purchased poke bowls last night and I don't what went wrong, but they filled 1/3 of my bowl with edamame and very little fish. The pic shows what is left AND I ate edamame with every single bite. Will not be returning unless I eat there and can return on the spot. I ordered half rice and salad, tuna, spicy tuna, with the sides of: mango, tobiko, avocado, egg, ginger, edamame (BUT NOT A BOWL FULL), and some other spices.

Instead, you simply place your order either online, or through the self-service kiosk located out front. There is a window next to the kiosk where they'll place your drink when ready. Ordered a Mango Supreme with Boba and really enjoyed the fresh mango taste, along with the nice and chewy boba. There's not a lot of boba options in San Rafael. But I'm glad Oddcha is one of them. Unbeknownst to me at the time, parking is available in a lot under the freeway on 4th street, behind Oddcha. I instead found street parking 3 blocks away and simply walked over.

We ordered the Coconut Bomb and the Thai Twister, and both drinks were excellent. They weren't overly sweet and had a really refreshing flavor. The boba also tasted fresh, which made the drinks even better. Ordering was easy using their kiosk system. One thing to note is that parking is located behind the shop. It was a bit confusing at first since the store is on a very busy road, but once you find the back parking area, it's much more convenient. Overall, a great stop for refreshing drinks--I'd definitely come back!

Review #012 - 2026…read more Our group of 11 showed up at around 2 PM on Friday, June12th. The guy, who appears to be the owner, was not very pleasant when we asked him questions regarding their drink offers. I try my very best not to drink artificial sugar or food color because it's bad for my health! He stated that they use powdered flavorings and syrup so I assumed they were artificial so I decided not to get anything for myself. The kids all got a drink and as you can see from my pictures, the colors are very artificial! They all said their drinks were just ok! One of my sisters is highly sensitive to sugar as it will affect her palpations so she asked if their matcha had sugar and the owner said, "no!" so she decided to order her avocado shake with less ice and added a scoop of matcha. Sadly, the matcha powder has sugar in it so she went to let the owner know and he gave her a terrible attitude saying that she was being hard to please. For someone who has no health issue, a little sugar won't affect them. However, if your body can't process sugar, it makes a world of a difference. He kept arguing with my sister and finally went to bring out the matcha package and sure enough sugar was listed as one of the main ingredients. If you are in the business to sell food, you should know what is in your food products before telling customers that something isn't in that item, just in case a customer has an allergic reaction. I am very forgiving, but I do not like people who are too lazy to check before telling me that something is or isn't in my food/drinks just for me to find out after I've already ate/drank it! The worst part is rather than apologizing for your own lack of knowledge, you choose to argue with your customer to make them feel belittled! We are definitely NOT coming back to this place! Minus 10 stars for poor customer service!

2.5 STARS kuma cafe…read moreis a small cafe serving quick bites and boba, conveniently located in downtown san rafael. even though it's in downtown san rafael, i've never had trouble finding street parking nearby. since you order on a tablet, there's not usually anyone behind the counter until the food comes out. it seems like there's only one person working, so it can sometimes take a bit for things to come out. i usually order online for a quicker pickup, although it's slightly more expensive. there are a few tables inside, but it's really a to-go place. - egg sandwich w/ salad (2.5/5): i love japanese egg sandwiches, so i really wanted to try this! the sandwich had a good kewpie mayo flavor, and it was slightly sweet. i enjoyed the flavor, but the sandwich was too wet and messy to eat. some of the mayo was dripping out of the sides. there were also small bits of tobiko and cabbage. it wasn't a big sandwich for the price, but it did come with a salad that was topped with a good sweet and creamy dressing - spicy tuna sandwich w/ chips (1/5): literally like canned tuna with some spicy seasoning, although it wasn't super spicy. it also had some thick slices of cucumber and red onion. the chips were kind of stale, and they tasted like they were supposed to be ruffles or lays salted chips. this was pretty disappointing, and i'm not sure why it cost that much - poke (2.5/5): pretty standard, and an okay portion for price. they offered all of the basic ingredients and different kinds of fish. my bowl didn't have a lot of fish in it, but they did give me a lot of tamago (sweet egg), which made up for the lack of protein. i ordered the soy house sauce, but it reminded me more of a bright ponzu. honestly, the ingredients didn't really taste the freshest, but i thought it was fine and the best food i tried here - jasmine rose milk tea (1.5/5): strong rose flavor! it was still pretty sweet at 50% sugar, and it got overwhelmingly sweet by the end. i usually finish drinks, even if i don't like them, but it was hard to finish - sando brown sugar milk tea (4/5): my favorite milky drink i tried! it had a pretty good black tea and chocolate malt flavor. i really liked the crunchy texture of the malt topping, although i think it could've used a little less malt and more drink. i thought this was very unique! - lychee dragon fruit (4/5): like a light lemonade! i didn't really taste the lychee. the dragon fruit flavor was subtle, but it was definitely there, especially at the end with all the dragon fruit bits. it came with lychee jelly, which made the drink pretty sweet - fizzy yuzu (4/5): literally a yuzu soda, which was tart and citrusy. it was a little too sour for me at first, but the yuzu flavor was great. i actually really liked the kiwi popping boba, which added some sweetness to the drink and curbed the tartness. the kiwi popping boba did taste like kiwi, and it was so unique! - momo peach iced matcha [seasonal] (1/5): the worst drink i tried... there was so much peach jam that it tasted super sweet, and the jam didn't even have a strong peach flavor. the amount of jam also made the drink extremely goopy, even after mixing, and i couldn't taste the matcha at all. i didn't finish this drink the boba here was inconsistent - sometimes it was soft and chewy, and other times, it was on the hard end. for the drinks that came with a topping, they didn't let me sub out the topping with something else. i would've had to pay for an additional topping in order to change it. overall, i'm not really a big fan of kuma cafe, but there aren't that many options in san rafael. compared to oddcha, i think kuma cafe offers more unique asian flavors, like dragon fruit or yuzu. when i'm working near downtown, i'll still stop by to get my boba fix but will head somewhere else for lunch.

The lady working there (an older woman) was just the sweetest. She greeted us with a big smile, welcomed us in, and even thanked us for stopping by. It really made the visit feel extra personal. We tried a few drinks: the Mango Fresh Milk with boba was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet which is perfect for a hot day. The Iced Matcha with boba was smooth and flavorful; I loved that it actually tasted like real matcha. I did ask for less ice, which oddly came with an extra 85 cent charge, but honestly, it was still worth it. My daughter got the Kuma Blue Cloud Raspberry, which was creamy, fun looking, and caffeine free! It's definitely a nice spot to grab a good drink and relax for a bit. The only downside is that they don't have a public restroom, which was a little inconvenient. Still, we'll definitely be back for more drinks and that friendly service!
