The food is still very good. I've not been happy with the service or atmosphere. It is run like a glorified fast food joint. The staff rushes you to try to turn around tables quickly. They serve the main dishes without letting you enjoy the salads, soups, and appetizers. Mains are brought out before you barely start enjoying the soup and salad. The staff are great at hovering over you like vultures sizing up meat. They keep staring at you when you eat and start taking your plates away the second you take the last bite. It's all about rushing you and taking the joy away from a relaxed meal. I want to enjoy a fine dining meal without a pack of vultures hovering over my table and interfering with every conversation and bite. Sushi Tri has a wide variety of Japanese food and it's all very tasty! I have had the sushi here as well as the bento box and curry bowl, which were all delicious. I really enjoy the miso soup and salad that comes with the bento box and curry bowl. Got the fried banana with vanilla ice cream for dessert and it was so good (serving is more for sharing though)! Service is polite and attentive but hard to get a hold of sometimes. This was a little frustrating since there were a lot of staff present. I've been here several times for both dine-in and takeout, and I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! The food is consistently great. I usually order the salmon teriyaki bento box with mixed tempura to-go. While bento boxes tend to taste similar everywhere, their miso soup stands out -- it's my favorite and always so flavorful. Last night, I dined in with coworkers and we shared a few appetizers: agedashi tofu, spicy edamame, soft shell crab, and both pork and vegetable potstickers. The agedashi tofu was a surprise hit -- I don't usually go for tofu appetizers, but the sauce was delicious. The spicy edamame was also a first for me, and I loved the bold, tasty sauce. The soft shell crab was good, and while both types of potstickers were solid, I preferred the pork. For my entrée, I tried the seafood ramen, but it was just okay -- I kind of wish I had stuck with my usual bento box. For dessert, I had the fried banana with vanilla ice cream. It was massive! We didn't realize how big it would be -- definitely one to share. Service was friendly and they kept our waters filled, though we did have to flag them down a couple times when we needed something. Owners also own the ramen shop by Safeway off of novato Blvd. Service is always quick and servers are always attentive. We're not from the area and decided to randomly drop into this place for sushi and it was such a pleasant surprise. We ordered chirashi bowls and an order of uni nigiris. The fish in the chirashi don was fresh, delicious, and plated nicely. It also had a great ratio of rice to fish. The chirashi don also came with a side salad and miso soup. Uni nigiri was also pretty good. Staff was attentive and was quick to order and serve us food. Lighting was a bit dim inside for me but that depends on if you want that ambiance or not. I came here with a big work group and they were very accommodating! Our table was ready right away for us. They promptly began taking our order and bringing out appetizers. I really liked the vegetarian pot stickers. I ordered ramen for my main dish, which was okay. It needed some seasoning, which they do give you with your order so that is nice. I would say if you have other choices besides the ramen maybe try that. I heard great things from my co-workers who ordered the curry and the bento boxes were a hit! The amount of food that is given is great. For dessert we all ordered the fried banana, which in hindsight could have been shared between a few of us because it is a pretty good amount for one serving. There was some delay in refilling of water but it was understandable because there were so many of us, it's hard to do everything at once. Yelp hours may not be accurate so check google. It said it was closed for lunch on Sunday but it was open. I got the nabe udon and the server said they were out of the udon soup base, which was weird because they just opened. I opted for the ramen soup, which is pork based. I didn't think the soup base would make a huge difference but it definitely did change the taste overall. I've had my fair share of nabe udons and I wouldn't get this again. It had pieces of salmon in it, which was interesting. I was surprised to see that it doesn't come with shrimp tempura. Luckily they gave me a seasoning bottle because the broth was bland. The sushi was good though. Service could be better. They never checked up on us during our meal. It wasn't busy during lunch hours so some of the staff were just standing around watching the customers eat which made it awkward. Soup and salad arrived first, followed by my sushi orders, then the rest of their meals (which took a bit longer and I waited to eat before their meals arrived.) i like that the tempura and katsu dishes were not greasy. I ordered the hamachi sashimi and the Double Hamachi Roll (huge!). The roll was saucy with crunchy garlic on top. It was really good, but if you love hamachi, get it as a sashimi. One of my family's fave spots in Novato. We've been coming here for years and have seen it evolve a little bit. We believe that it change ownership a couple years ago and seen small changes here and there. Overall the food and quality of fish sourced has still remained at a high level though. Oddly enough, one of my favorites is their chicken wings. You can't go wrong with any of their rolls though. The hot mama, dragon, lover's, Romeo & Juliet, caterpillar, rock N Roll rolls are all my faves. Their Ramen is pretty awesome too. My last visit I tried the Spicy Tuna Taco's and that was pretty fun. When you go there save enough room for the fried banana dessert! We love eating outside. It has a cute little scenic area. However we noticed that it could be cleaned up a little bit. When I ate here 3 years ago, we quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately it wasn't very good this time around. The tonkatsu looked and tasted like ground up meat. The tempura shrimp tasted like it came from the frozen food section, and the tempura vegetables weren't much better. The miso soup and starter salad were OK, but that's where it ended. Wow!! We were passing through the area and craving sushi. We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant when we took a wrong turn off the freeway. What a happy accident. Everything (the Four Seasons roll, the shrimp tempura rolls, miso soup, salad and spicy edamame) was delicious! Fresh, tasty and perfectly seasoned. Since we were traveling with our dog, it was a to-go order. The young lady who took our order made a slight mistake which was caught by another employee. In essence, we were slightly overcharged.
