Front desk was welcoming and nice. The room was clean, everything seemed updated, bed was comfortable, love the fluffy pillows, and the shower pressure was great. The towels were pretty thin and I wish there was a fridge with mini freezer section instead of a cooler, which turns off automatically by itself. Not great for storing perishable foods. I didn't use the hotel amenities but saw the gym from the outside. It looked well equipped and nice. The room came with two bottled waters, which is great!

Valet parking is $40. We decided to park at the Garrahy Courthouse Parking Structure (75 Clifford St) overnight for $20 instead. The room's bathroom lacks privacy. Using the toilet means you are somewhat visible through the glass door that doesn't shut close. The shower also has a glass door. The windows don't have a second set of curtains to provide privacy while letting in light. You have a fridge but no microwave. No complimentary breakfast.

Love this hotel. It's near everything. There is a fun vibe and the hotel is bright and new. There is also a rooftop restaurant which surprisingly is not open at night. Fur babies are welcome and treated well. The staff was also very inclusive and welcoming to the humans. The place to go when you are in Providence. My dog gives it a paws up.

Have picked this hotel based on a previous experience in a different state. The hotel is near the financial district. Cleaned with all necessary amenities to have a comfortable stay. Staff in the hotel were ok but, not very friendly.

This Aloft feels very new, fresh and clean. It is well located being close to downtown and just a quick walk over to college row. Parking runs about $30 per night. I liked this in part because the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I had my dog and they could not have been nicer. There is a gym and bar in the hotel, plus a rooftop area, however, the rooftop was not open during my stay. The hotel (and Alofts in general) tries to be "hip" but it is not over the top so traditional visitor would be deterred. Great visit and stay.

so i stay for a couple of night here at the aloft hotel in providence RI, never done a review before because i don't like it but today i will do one just for the simple reason that when I booked the hotel I paid for city view room witch in the pictures below shows are not , i asked the front desk if they gave me the wrong room because i wanted city view and they told me all the rooms have city view was not happy to know that what I paid was not giving. so no Wont stay there again.

glass 3/4 wall between beds & bathroom

Hot mess is the best way to describe this hotel.... from confusion when we first checked in (already super late around 4am and asked repeatedly to work thing out the next day) to having ZERO parking and having to park in a parking garage 2 blocks and an alley away. The girl at the front desk said they had valley park wrong, oh but the guy had already gone home for the night (11pm) . They also some of the hardest beds for this price range ($200ish), no real wall between the bathroom & bedroom (literally a shower curtain), and light shines through from the bathroom into the beds... i had to stuff a pillow between the cracks. The bar is never open and when open closes around 10pm. Front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming and we were even charged twice for our stay (O noticed and had to request a refund). I requested a late check-out & was told it was $25/hr.... even though we had several problems, There was no accommodation. The only saving grace was the front desk manager who was very helpful with some tips about Boston. Best way to describe this place is trying to throw some granite in a home and calling it remodeled.

Just above pillows is a head board that you are guaranteed to bang your head on.

Staff super nice. My review is more about the design of the room. I know it's like a minimalist designed modern hotel, but I would suggest having a bathroom with an actual door. Well the TOILET has the door the rest does not. The wall of the bathroom doesn't go to the ceiling so while there is an entrance door if someone is in bed there is no privacy for the person in the bathroom. Plus to get in a shower you have to stand right near the entrance way because the other side of the shower door doesn't open. So if someone happens to enter when your getting ready to shower, they will see you naked as well as anyone in the hall. There is no privacy. We were there for a wedding. Getting ready was very hard. No dressing space and your hair dryer can only be plugged in by the shower if someone is showering. The lighting is so low I couldn't see to do my make up. Whoever designed this room should have to live in it. Bed headboard is a hazard, guarantee that you will bang your head on it when you lay down. Lobby has a bar and rooftop has a bar and some light food. Free coffee wasn't bad. Hotel is on a busy road so street noises might bother some people.

Big room with two queen beds and huge tv!

Like most aloft hotels it's stylish, hip and fun! My son loves the pops of color and the room was perfect for my husband kid and I. Spacious enough to move around, huge tv, walk in shower and bathroom with all the necessities ( shampoo conditioner and shower gel).

    Terrible wallpaper in the bathroom
    Melissa L.

This hotel was fine, but the decor was awful in my opinion. There was no couch, ironing board, or closet in our room (for 3 ladies). The light in the bathroom also kept flickering. We tried to go to the rooftop bar for drinks around 9:30-10 and were told they couldn't seat 5 people together...but 4 of us could sit at a table and one person could stand at the bar alone...wtf?

Is the construction out back or to the side done yet? Ruined our stay in December 2023. I won't be back until I know it's complete. They started with trucks at 5am!?

I do not recall any construction going on.the lobby looks like a warehouse but our rooms were very quiet

The only issue I had was that I requested a late check-out and the person working the counter really gave me a hard time about it. I understand that late check-outs aren't guaranteed, but her attitude about it was really off. She kept insisting that I need to speak with her manager to approve it, but she never offered to get the manager. I just gave up and decided to speak with someone else the next day. When I came by the next day, the person working let us have the 2pm check-out and the manager did happen to walk by and said it was not an issue at all. And it turns out the girl from the night before did mark me as a 1pm check-out. Honestly, though, this was still an issue because housekeeping came at 1pm to clean the room... The room itself was a room. Clean and standard to Hampton Inn. The bathroom was good, with a nice shower stall and good water pressure but a low flow toilet. My room was in a separate part of the building with only like 6 rooms on the floor. This was nice when it came to hotel noise. However, the windows are very thin and the complaints about car drag racing all night are not incorrect. The location of this hotel was fantastic, an easy walk to many of the sights in the area. One day we decided to take the shuttle and that was fabulous. This hotel is worth staying at for the shuttle alone.

I like staying at these places because breakfast is usually not a big deal for me. The FREE SHUTTLE goes within 2 miles of the hotel. I stayed here two different times and I probably caught the shuttle 6 different times. Jenn is the absolute best shuttle driver, super knowledgeable about the entire town, and remembered me when I came back the second time. I don't like taking Ubers by myself so having the shuttle was the best - the shuttle picked me up from the Amtrak station before I even checked in! Then it took me to the mall while I waited for my room to be ready. Location: super convenient to eateries, and just across the river from Brown, RISD, Thayer St, and walkable to the waterfront. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. THE BAD: Both times I stayed, my room faced the street and at night people race cars on those streets! The street noise is REALLY LOUD.

A renaissance, indeed. They have the important things down: the bed is comfortable, the shower pressure is good, the towels are soft, the products are solid. The fitness center is pretty good. Overall, it was clean, and spacious, and the people I dealt with were friendly and helpful. There are a few oddities, like the fact that the closet has another door that opens into the bathroom and the Trump rally happening a block away (not affiliated with the hotel), but those are overshadowed by an amazing view of the Capitol building (through some pillars), and an excellent location a block or two from the train station. That alone means I'll be back next time I'm in town.

It's located in a very walkable area near Roger Williams University, RISD, Brown, and Johnson & Wales. The people were friendly and helpful especially Dylan. It's a very old property. The "lift" requires muscle to get the gate open. It's only large enough for 2 people and only goes to the fourth floor. We were room 502 so we had to lug our bags up another flight of stairs. The room was spacious with a king bed on one side and sitting area with TV on the other. The TV was difficult to watch from bed. The air conditioner combo heater was very loud. In fact, when it came on, it sounded like someone was trying to break into the room. The bathroom was small. The shower was so small that I felt like I was in a coffin with the black tile and shower curtain. The pressure was good in the shower with a waterfall shower head. I had no room to raise my arms to wash my hair. The products provided in the bathroom- hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all good. The rooms are lit with antique lighting, which while cool, make for dimly lit rooms. The beds while comfortable are spaced just enough from the wall that you will end up with a cramped neck as you wake up with your pillow tucked between the wall and the bed frame. The AC unit in our room was running the entire time. Never had a problem with it and it was a godsend for the humid weather I experienced with my 4 days in Providence. I only saw one staff member working at the coffee/breakfast bar once during my entire stay (4 days). And even then the coffee bar looked to be closed. Definitely best to find your breakfast and coffee at one of the myriad of places outside of the hotel. No working vents in the bathroom will leave your post showering experience to be entertaining and thoughts of a sauna will creep into your mind. The TV is in a very awkward spot and in my case was never used by myself or my family that I booked the room with. Also due to the location of the building and this is no fault of the owners, you will get to hear ALL the sounds of the inner downtown workings. Lights passing by, sirens, horns, and in our case, random fireworks going off for the 4th of July weekend. My biggest complaint by far was the parking. One would think that for the price you pay to stay, you would get either VIP parking or just hotel parking in general. Definitely not the case here. You will pay for parking and if you happen to leave the hotel to go visit other places, your parking becomes an experience for the RNG gods. It becomes a first come first serve situation. Which in my opinion, is absolutely ridiculous. Overall, our stay was okay. Would I stay here a 2nd time? No, no I wouldn't. The parking issue still annoys me. While the experience is unique, the amenities provided by the hotel are subpar. The staff are friendly, but the experience, again from my point of view, is lacking.

I booked my reservation around midnight and traveled from Boston to Providence, RI. Upon arrival, the second front door was locked, and I waited approximately five minutes before the concierge came to open it. When I approached the front desk and politely asked if my reservation was visible, the concierge, Jordan, responded in a rude and hostile tone, saying, "Can you wait!!" He then stated that although he could see my reservation, I could not check in until 4:00 PM. I explained that I had nowhere else to go and kindly asked if he could check whether any accommodations could be made. He abruptly said no, claiming the hotel was fully booked. He then stated that I could pay $339.35 for the night and would be able to get a room immediately, which directly contradicted his earlier statement that no rooms were available. When I asked what the nightly rate included (amenities, etc.), he responded defensively and dismissively. Shortly after, he told me that if I didn't stop asking what he referred to as "condescending questions," he would call the police and have me removed. This threat was completely unwarranted and unprofessional. At no point was I rude, aggressive, or disruptive--I was simply asking reasonable questions about my reservation. Because of this interaction, I was left with no choice but to sleep in my car. I was not willing to pay nearly $400 on top of an existing reservation, nor was it safe for me to drive back to Boston at that hour. The following day around 3:30 PM, the concierge was kind and helpful, though my room was still not ready and I waited an additional 45 minutes. Later, a third concierge listened carefully to my experience and confirmed that the hotel was not fully booked and that accommodations should have been made the night before, directly contradicting what I had been told by Jordan. Despite management being aware of the situation, the manager, Brad Craig, never approached me, never acknowledged what happened, and never attempted to address or resolve the issue. I understand hotel policies, but nothing justifies threatening a guest with police for asking questions or leaving someone effectively stranded. This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, empathy, and leadership. I hope this feedback leads to proper staff training and accountability so no other guest is treated this way.
